2.
You need any bits and bobs? Can do a swap?
Should have known you spot this eventually, I know you're partial to this pickup! Not sure I need anything really. What you got in mind / have lying about?
3. "Just control plate and pickguard left" bump.
4.
Would you split? I might be interested in the P pup.
Maybe.... Depends if there's interest in the NJ4 or lack of interest in the complete set. If so, would look at selling each for £47, to cover for increased postage cost.
5. Although I'm not in a hurry to sell this, recently sold 80's Arias on here seem to have gone at around the £180 - £200 mark. I will re-price this to £180 and see what happens.
6. This came pre-installed in a hand-made bass from the US I bought a year and a half ago (the TBC in my avatar). I contacted Nordstrand to make sure they were the real deal and they confirmed they were. However, They did not say whether the J pickup was the NJ4SV or NJ4SE. I've made a guess that it's the NPJ4SE as that's what's being offered as a set on eBay. The bass manufacturer put extra shielding on the bottom of the P pickup, in the form of copper tape. As for what it sounds like, well I'll go for 'modern' as it doesn't sound much like the pickup in my '62 re-issue P bass or the Wilkinson P I replaced it with. It's quite powerful and 'dark' sounding and I just prefer the more traditional P sound. Took out the J pickup just to sell as a set, although I actually really like it; it has the characteristics described on the Nordstand site for the NJ4SE: "The natural character of this design is to have a more pronounced lower midrange, and a slightly muted high end. This makes them exceptionally suited to fingerstyle players who are going for a solo bridge pickup sound with good 'bark' and 'heft'." Not sure about price: they seem to be on sale on eBay for £155 (pre import duty) and these are in great condition, so how about £80 inc postage to mainland UK. Edit: to say which bass the pickups came in.

8. Wow, that's a great price! Used to have a soundgear and it was very light and comfortable to play. Mine had the more traditional P pickup configuration. I imagine being that way around, the E and A strings sound not quite as deep/round/whatever but tighter?
9. Bought a pair of Peavey hisys 3 PA cabs, adapted for bass use. Much better (and lighter!) than expected. Bought as add-ons for my barefaced compact but were easily good enough to be used on their own. Even let me try them out at one of my gigs! Can't recommend highly enough.
10.
Cabs back up for sale with healthy price drop due to ebay timewaster!
Mine now. Ridiculously good cabs for the money. I now have a modular 3x15" rig: I'm just so damnend old-school it hurts (mainly the audience).
11. Gosh, that's lovely. Will anyone get the hump if I say it looks like a warwick? If it had frets, would seriously think about parting with cash. Anyone got a fretted neck for this?
12. Now on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=130425350531
13.
Will consider PX's for a 300w or greater amp head!
Hah! Who's the nutter now?
14.
Thanks - hoping it can find a good home
Looks good, am tempted. Do you have any power output specs?
15. Bump with final price drop. Can deliver at cost between North London and Essex. Give me a shout, we'll work something out.
16. Bought a Gotoh 201 bridge off me. Paid quickly and was very communicative. Would recommend.
17.
These are great cabs, I've got one with a mini 48. £100 for one is a bargain.
Thanks oldslapper. Despite some abortive sales, cab still available.
18.
PM'd re BT4
All PM's replied to. See the top for what's left: Gotoh bridge, EMG-J, jazz control plate and jazz pickguard.
19. Am breaking my parts jazz bass to fund new cab. All prices including UK mainland delivery. Less if you want to collect. Can grap the whole (working and actually quite nice) bass for £115, will throw in the strings for free . Feel free to make reasonable offers. [s]Mighty Mite Maple jazz neck. Nice grain. Installed a couple of times but still solid and good[/s]. £35 ** SOLD ** [s]Hipshot bass xtender BT4[[/s]. £25 ** SOLD ** [s]3 x Generic elephant ear tuners. Not great quality but will get you out of trouble. [/s]£5 [s]Gotoh 201 4 string bridge (direct replacement for Fender)[/s]. £15 ** SOLD pending payment** [s]EMG-J set. Older style logo and connections. The neck pickup's logo is worn. Tone pot is broken but still have the capacitor for it in case you have one floating about. I don't use it myself... [/s] £60 ** SOLD * Jazz control plate. Just your generic 4 hole example. £8 White 3-ply pickguard. Doesn't quite fit this body but did for the person I bought it off so I'm told it's pretty standard size. Lengthened the neck pocket by a few Mills each end to accomodate the EMG. £8 [s]Honey blonde (now custard!) coloured Jazz body. Got stung on eBay with this; seller didn't mention it was ply. Having said that, it's only about 2KG, fits the neck perfectly and sounds pretty good. Lots of bumps and scratches and has a big hole drilled from the bottom edge into the control cavity where I was going to fit a locking 1/4 inch socket. Just cover postage and it's yours. [/s]** SOLD pending payment**
