1. In the end went with a second-hand Spector TonePump, the original one without the trim pot. A nice chap at spector sent me the wiring diagram and I wired it in myself. After a bit of head-scratching, was actually quite simple. The output is just a little hotter than before but only takes a slight decrease on the input gain on amp. Warms my bottom nicely
 2. Amp Specs:

2x 525W/4Ohm
2x 350W/8Ohm
input sensitivity: 0.775V
short circuit protection
limiter
THD less than 0.05%/1kHz
Inputs: jack/XLR
outputs: Speakon & binding posts
19" rack/2U
depth: 44cm
Weight: 17.3kg
3. The t.amp TA1050 Power Amp First item is a 'Thomann Own Brand' Power amp. Made in China but pretty decent. Just over 1000W and under 16Kg, would work equally well as a PA or Bass power amp. Despite appearances, its hardly used. Bought as a spare for my band's PA amp, was foolishly (not by me) carried around without a rack case until I confiscated it and put it in one until I decided to carry my much lighter and smaller version of this amp so it could serve as a spare for both the PA and my rig. Don't be put be put off by these details, it's actually a very good amp! Just not being used for the reasons mentioned previously. http://www.thomann.de/gb/tamp_ta1050ii_endstufe.htm £153 new, will accept £45 o.v.n.o. Would prefer not to post, so you could pick it up from my home or can deliver to a reasonable distance in and around North London or the Essex area at fuel cost. Furman PL8-E Power Condiditoner Has 10 female output kettle lead connectors and a very long power cable. Works perfectly well, except the lights don't work, even with new bulbs. An email conversation with Furman revealed that the light function couldn't be economically repaired and I'm such a tart about these things. Am willing to post this, and will let it go for £30 inc postage. Will even include a male to female kettle lead connector to get you going.
 4.
Hi Sharkfinger - do you still have the Boxer 65? Regards
PM'd
 5.
I'd go for something like the Aguilar 2 band (the first version, boost only) or the East "stingray" two band. You won't have to boost the top end with EMG's, but they warm up nicely with a good low end.... I put the boost/cut version into a Warwick with EMG PJs and it was great, but I never used the cut function.
Aguilar 2 band as in the OBP-1?
If you dont want to fiddle on stage you probbaly wont like the East ACG. You might want something to tame the EMG topend a bit so an East BTB would work well i think. Bass boost only, treble cut and boost.
Acutally, I'm fine with the top end. Will check out the BTB. Thanks guys, keep 'em coming!
 6. I have this EMG PJ setup currently and although it sounds fine and dandy, I really wanted more 'oomph'. Now, I've tried Spectors in the past that had EMG and the Tonepump circuit and I've quite liked it. I see that there are a few Tonepump circuits knocking about and was tempted to buy one but have been advised that they wouldn't really the EMGs justice. The East ACG 02 in particular was recommended. With that in mind, I'm casting the net further and would like opinions on what would really make my EMGs sing. I'm after a great rock tone and I really can't be bothered to keep fiddling with settings on stage. I find a tone I like and stick with it and if I want to change the sound on stage, I'll usually change where I finger/plec the string. It would be nice to be able to change the mid if I'm really having trouble hearing myself but in those occasions, I can walk over to the amp and tweak. So here are a few I've been looking at: EMT BT/BQ East ACG 02 Aguilar OBP-1/2 Opinions on these or alternate suggestions please.
 7. Don't know if I'm adding anthing useful to this but I have an overdrive pedal that I alway keep in it's box wrapped in a platic bag in my gig-bag. Whether or not I use the pedal, I stick the box under the front of my cab. I seem to always get a consistent sound. Mind you, my cab and amp are ridiculously light, so even a empty box can do the trick.
 8.
I think that the pots can be easily removed and replaced so the holes layout shouldn't be a problem.
How exactly would the position of the pots be moved around? These look like they're set up for a jazz bass cavity. Mine is slightly curved, like a P bass cavity but rear routed with plenty of space.
 9. More bumpage. Offers/trades considered.
 10.
What you need is something like this Non slip mat. I got a similar one from Asda for a quid. Completely stopped the LM2 from sliding off an angled back cab
Thanks for the tip. Got one from Tesco for about £1 but didn't really think it would work with a cab angled at about 30 degrees or more. It only bloody does! It's like it's stuck on with blu-tack. 20+ gigs and not a millimeter of movement. BTW, have now done 30+ gigs with the compact and not once haven't been able to hear myself. It lives up to all my expectations and have finally broken my phoney expecations from tweeters. I can hear everything clearly and high notes cut through like a knife. Seems counter-intuitive but I guess it's just down to unlearning the marketing hype.
 11.
I'll definately have this if its still available. Whereabouts in North London are you?
PM'd
 12. Just had an idea: I would be willing to sell the cab (inc. crossover and tweeter) separately from the 10" drivers. That way, someone could load the cab with (lightweight?) Eminence drivers (recommended) and make the cab whatever wattage and impedance they liked. The original PAS Eminence drivers would be ideal for an 'BFM Omni 10' or 2 x 'BFM Omni 10.5': the increased efficiency of the BFM design completely negates the "drawback" of these drivers being relatively low-powered by today's standards. Plus, as these are well known to have more bottom end than the standard Eminence 10" drivers (then or now), that negates what I see as a drawback to the BFM Omni design! Would not separate unless I managed to sell the cab, as that's what takes the space up! I'd accept £50 for the cab. Seeing as the crossover is new and and cost £32 and to buy one of these tweeters now would set you back £62, I think that's an incredible deal. £60 for both drivers (or £30 each if more that one person wants one).
 13. Bump for a fantastic light little combo that "punches above it's weight", as they say.
 14.
Bugger. My SWR Black Beauty runs at 350 watts when a 4 ohm cab is plugged in. I would be scared of killing this! Would be nice to have a matching SWR cab though... Have a friendly SWR shaped bump.
Rewiring the speaker to make the cab 16Ohm is very simple, if that helps.
 15. For sale is my Behringer 1x12 (aluminium 'dynamizer' cone) 120 Watt combo which was made redundant when I got my MB 1x12 combo, which has a smaller footprint, is lighter and louder. Have owned this from new, is about 5 years old and is called a "bass workstation" because it has tons of features like 2 channels (footswitch included), ultrabass (octaver), DI out, tuner out, tape in/out, pre amp out, power amp in and a headphone jack! It can face straight forward or be tilted back for monitoring situations. I have all the original documentation, including manual and am looking for about £100. That's a lot of amp for your money. Due to the weight, I would strongly advise cash on collection.
 16. I have for sale a TC Boxer 65. I inherited this from the original (from new) owner who moved abroad so can't say for sure right now when he bought it. It is in excellent condition apart from some barely visible tiny globs of candle wax on the side. Good for both home/studio practice and acoustic/jazz gigs. My MB 1x12 has a small enough footprint to make both this and and my larger, more powerful Behringer 1x12 redundant (also for sale). I'm thinking £90 is a fair price for this but will entertain sensible offers. Make them a cup of tea, maybe some snacks . Would prefer cash on collection but willing to courier it if you make the arrangements.
 17.
Does this have an additional speaker output? Thanks
If flippyfloop doesn't mind, I'll answer this as I have exactly the same model. The amp in this combo is identical to the head they sold separately. It has both a combination speakon/quarter inch jack and single quarter inch jack output: http://www.markbass.it/immagini.php?id_pro...1&lingua=en
 18.
Hi original speaker chassis are cast ..? I have Goliath Jnr ll which I might put the speakers and horn in ... I am thinking they will drop straight in.....
Not sure what you're asking me regarding the speaker chassis but I see no reason why these speakers will not fit straight in. I actually always preferred the second generation's front grille, anyway.
 19. Pics added. Forgot to mention, that I've added some small rubber feet so it stands vertically as well. Feel free to make me sensible offers. Would prefer cash on collection (from either Enfield or somewhere in Essex) and am prepared to courier at your cost.
