Will join my voice to the praise chorus. Bought my G&L L2000 tribute. Came when arranged with no messing about. Top bloke.
  2.
Gorgeous bass, I have 2 of them and can't justify a third one bump.
It's absolutely stunning in the flesh (well, wood). It has a lovely grain.
  3. Bought this off of Aharon on here a few months ago. What I wanted was a bass that could sound like my JV precision but weight just that little bit less. It actually sounds just as good as my precision in some ways and it's more versatile. Sadly though, even at something like 8lb 10oz, it's still enough to bring out my neck pain, so it stays in its case in favour of my chambered swamp ash bass. Would not be parting with it otherwise. With that in mind, there's not a lot of point me keeping it which is sad because it seems to have been passed around a bit on this forum. I want back what I paid for it, which was £350 and as it's unmarked and completely un-dinged, it's a steal. I would prefer collection but could courier at your expense. Would consider a trade for a high-quality lightweight bass. 8lbs absolute max. Particularly interested in Ibanez SR 500 and above. The electronics and pickups are the same used on the US models and the build quality is flawless. Natural Gloss over Swamp Ash and a rosewood board. 6. PM'd you regarding this earlier this month but have received no reply. I'm interested in the head on its own.
  7.
BUMP
PM'd you on the 5th December regarding the Peavey T-Max head but didn't get a reply. Have since got myself another head but might still be interested if we could make a deal.

  9.
Just ordered one of these for my Compact. Phoned up Roqsolid to specify a 'portrait' rather than 'landscape' cover and he was very surprised one had been sent out as 'landscape' design. Odd. Still, very good service, the chap was friendly and said the cover should be with me by the end of the week.
I personally don't get the need for a cover for a compact, as my slightly road-worn Compact will attest. I just 'colour in' the bumps and scrapes with a marker. Seems more in keeping with what Alex had in mind with the choice of textured covering. Correct me if I'm wrong, Alex. Don't meant to put words in your mouth!
  10.
I was wondering if anyone in or near cambridge happened to have a compact, and would be willing to let me try it out. As i'm looking into getting one in the very near future but would just like a little taste of what might be to come! Cheers,
I gig a lot (almost exclusively, in fact) in Essex, which is not too much of a stretch from Cambridge. You're welcome to try out mine at a pub gig. PM me if you're still interested in doing so...
  11. Bump. Maybe this should be in "Other musically related stuff"?
  12. Bought my Fane loaded Peavey HiSys III. Great communication and very straight-forward transaction. Thanks.
  13. Bought my badass II from me. Great comms and collected as promised. Also a friendly guy. Deal with confidence.
  14.
Any chance you're travelling up the M1 a bit? G.
Depends how far and as long as you don't mind covering fuel cost, then sure.
  15.
is it 600w rms?
Yes. The driver is virtually new (as Moos3h will attest) and would cost about £90. 16. Bump. Don't underestimate what this can do! It's a lot better than a lot of 1x15 bass cabs I've heard.
  17. Not using this but have need of a decent octaver stomp box so will swap or PX it for one. With power supply and manual. Has two separate channels, which can be used independently, so you can use it mono for an instrument or stereo for a PA. Cash price £40 delivered. Edit: added pics
  18.
I use one and love it. I'll remember to keep beer from it.
It's like PayPal. 90% of people think there's nothing wrong with it. Those that have been shafted by them (like me) refuse to use it any more and recommend that other don't. You could argue that ignorance is bliss but it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme.
With respect, no normal warranty on any kind of electrical product covers accidental damage, that is where insurance is needed.
You have succinctly and politely summed up your thoughts without being patronising and holier-than-though like some that have replied here. Your criticism I can take and appreciate because I can see that you have a very valid point. Thanks. FWIW, the pedal's stopped working again. Anyone want a faulty Korg pitchblack for free? Otherwise it's going in the bin because I'm really bored of this now. I won't be looking at this thread again, so please PM me if you want it.
  19.
I've already had the "Tour" Compact and liked it so much I bought one. One word of warning I have to add. I used to have a Schroeder "carpet covered" cab and instead now use a single Compact. The cab is kept in a trailer with all of the other band gear. For the record, the Schroeder after 2 or 3 years of gigging looked almost like new ! The Compact with Roqsolid cover after a month looks beat up already. Chips out of the painted covering and worryingly, heavy scarring where a flightcase has rubbed against the Compact and the ply is seriously dented. Alex, please, please, please give us a carpet cover option ! I'd happily have an extra 1kg of weight for slightly heavier plywood and a carpet finish.
Like yours, my compact sees a lot of action too except I have no cover for it and I've had it probably going on two years now. In and out of vehicles and through lots of tight doorways. I've plenty of chips out of mine, some down to and out of the ply itself. Must admit to having wanted carpet covering but now I just shrug my shoulders and cover them up with marker pen.
The extra loudness from a 4 ohm version of the Compact is too marginal to be worthwhile, especially as it removes the option of adding a second cab (be that Midget or Compact) for a useful increase in output.
Indeed. I use a QSC PLX 1200W beast bridged straight into the compact for a lot of gigs and all rehearsals. That means it's taking 700W and I can definitely hear a difference in volume between volume setting 9 and 10! However, It's when I add a second cab that I really get the best out of both the amp and the cabs. Strangely though, I don't get as much apparent volume when I use the amp in parallel mode (two channels separate) with 3 cabs (see avatar, one of which is for sale, hint hint) with the bottom 2 getting ~170W each and the compact getting 200W. Maybe because that still adds up to 'only' about 550W. More experimentation is needed. I too am keen to get my hands on they tour Compact, however.
