  1. £65? I'm gassing (and probably always will!) for a Steve Harris sig, two a side aria pro 2 - sb series, maple board p bass, a westbury track 2 or 4, mooer micro di, and thunderball.
  2. Good if you want to be isolated from the mains
  3. Not sure about the orange thing- although at least one of the other guys uses them. I saw t.c and Mesa backline at donington iirc
  4. The one I played is in a standard scale, concert tuning. My mp jag is currently in d, so I doubt it would cause any issue with different tunings.
  5. Well. It plays really well, very similar to my mp jaguar. The colour is awesome. Silverburst suits this bass wonderfully. It's a pj, with separate volumes for each pup, a master tone, and a separate treble boost. Both pups sounded nice and punchy, although with the amp I was provided with to try it was not really adequate to test this feature. The inherent sound is lovely though. The neck is close to both my mp jag in feel and the vm jag I have previously had a play with. It feels as if its unfinished, rather than the gloss of the mp. All in all I think it's a lovely bass for well under £300. I'd need to give it a thoroughly good play through a significant rig before spending. Apparently there is 5 string arriving imminently too
  6. I always cut mine. Mainly for neatness' sake. I hate the beehive look of tons of string around the post.
  7. I'm off to try one now My friend has just taken delivery of one. I shal be leaving my credit card at home
  8. Mine is in25174 MIT It's the third one I've had over the years, the others have been pinched. Iirc it's the only boss pedal where the circuit has remained the same over the years with only cosmetic changes.
  9. Really enjoying the new caro emerald and trouble albums
  10. Hey guys. Anyone had a play on one yet? Looks gorgeous with the silver burst finish. I shall be having a play at the earliest opportunity since they seem to be shipping now. http://www.andertons.co.uk/electric-basses/pid30278/cid682/squier-troy-sanders-jaguar-bass.asp

  12. We have done beat it before. Goes down a storm. We've also thrown the time warp and the xentrix version of ghostbusters for hallowe'en shows. They're always fun to play, which normally means the punter has fun too
  13. Still have my nady encore system as my back up to my x2. Still works brilliantly.
  14. He runs three rigs at a time sand switches tem in and out as necessary. One clean, one slightly dirty and one filthy. The home made distortion is apparently made from wah parts.
  15. Our set used to run Set 1 Breaking the law Cochise Highway to hell Lights Out Wrathschild NIB Crazy Train Children of the Grave Run to the hills Don't talk to strangers Ace of Spades Living on a prayer Set 2 War pigs Immigrant song Heaven n Hell Number of the beast Armed and ready Livin the life Trooper Livin after midnight Strangers in the night Rock n roll Long live Rock and Roll Burn Paranoid Crazy train. It has changed a little since this (about 18 months ago!) We also have a female singer since we couldn't find a chap that could a- handle the vocals at the required pitch and b- wasn't an arrogant expletive!!
  16. I was also bidding on that one for a student of mine, as it was only a little way down the road. I missed the end of it though. I hope you enjoy it mate. Those Westfields can be fantastic value for money. Enjoy
  17. I enjoyed the guy actually playing the bass part there. Oddments of the soloing I thought worked- however most did not. Billy sounded like the musical equivalent of a bag of pork scratching at a bar mitzvah in this case. It's no wonder that some see bass players as failed / frustrated guitarists
  18. I have had plenty of dealings with strings and things over the years, particularly when they were the distributors for mxr. Every issue I had was sorted promptly and efficiently. I would go so far as to say that nothing was too much trouble to solve any issue I had with their products.
  19. Hartke lh500. Tons of balls and plenty of volume.
  20. Ben. That is gorgeous. If I had the scratch........
  21. It's not like its a lightweight head. How can you lose a head that weighs the same as a small car!
  22. The Hartke hydrive lh500 is well worth a look. Frank bello from anthrax and save ellefson from megadeth are both using the uprated 1000w model, but the sound is not different enough in the 500w model to make any significant difference in the situation you refer to. Second hand around £200. Cab bargains are always to be found either here or eBay.
