  1. What a wonderful time to have no money! 😪 When I took my Ripper in to be set up the tech said that the frets were low but still ok. The price for a refret was about £200. Not sure whether that’s good, bad or average, didn’t seem excessive to me. So investing in getting a refret will get you a stunning Ripper still at a great price.
  2. These are great basses, I love mine. Wish I had the cash as I’d like a second one with flatwounds. I find these much lighter and brighter than my other Tbirds and thus gets gigged more. Sorry you have to sell your gear. It’s rotten I know as I’ve been there myself and I hope you get sorted soon.
  3. Very overpriced in my opinion for what it is. It makes the Epiphone 64 Thunderbird look excellent value for money being around £100 less.
  4. Just bought a Gator Mixer bag off James. A super guy to deal with! Fast dispatch and great communications. Thanks! 👍
  5. You have great taste there. Lovely basses!
  6. Gibson Rippers caught my attention in my teens when I first saw one in an old Bell's music catalogue. Out of all the basses the Ripper really stood out and for many years I always wanted one. The first one I saw (and played) in the flesh was @neepheid 's at a bass bash. The second being the one I was lucky enough to bag here a couple of months ago. I love it. I had it set up professionally with new strings and it plays superbly. It's light weight too, surprising considering its size! So I guess this is a dream bass for me. p.s It fits nicely in a Hiscox Teardrop case too!
  7. Hi Tobie This one (without the tweeter) is 32Kg.
  8. Bit late leaving feedback, ooops. Traded EBS amps recently with Dave. Great transaction throughout. 👍👍
  9. Thanks. Never thought of using a laptop bag. Being a largeish class D head, it makes sense. I only got that amp a couple of weeks ago and only used it once at band practice. It's certainly powerful, that was the first thing I noticed. It wasn't the greatest test as I was trying out my old 60's Thunderbird copy with an outboard preamp. It sounded great but it was more an experiment with the bass than a proper amp test. But like I said, it sounded pretty darn good through a 2x12 cab.
  10. Can anybody recommend a gig bag or soft case for my Reidmar? Dimensions (WxDxH) 36.3 x 26.2 x 7.6 cm (14.3 x 10.3 x 3.0") Something with good sized pockets would be nice. Thanks.
  11. 80's Thumbs are works of art and yours is no exception. Lovely!
  12. There must be some extremely rare models here!

  17. David bought my Roscoe bass. A no messin' transaction throughout! Lovely and interesting guy too and will hopefully deal with again. 👍
  18. Just bought Andy's TKS cab. Excellent and friendly communications throughout. Happy for me to try out the cab on collection and embarrass myself on his lovely Sandberg 5 string! Another top Basschatter to deal with 👍
  19. For sale is my EBS ProLine 1x15 400W 4 Ohm cab. Excellent condition. Collection from St Helens only. I’m unable to drive due to an accident at work. I’ll be off the roads until around Christmas unfortunately. £100 collected.
  20. Price dropped bump! Not looking for trades now.
  21. I really do need to to pay my GAS bill!
  22. For sale is my Lakland DJ4 in LPB with matching headstock. 4Kg And in excellent condition. I bought this from BassBros last September as a back up for my Roscoe for the band I was in. I'm no longer with that band and this isn't being used. The bass is in excellent condition with no dinks or scratches. There are a couple of small indentations to the back of the neck that I was unable to capture on the photos. Other than that, its perfect. Recently set up with a low action, too low for me if I'm honest! It's a Korean made one and the build quality and finish is superb as you'd expect. It came with a gig bag although nothing fancy. I'm unable to ship the bass but happy to meet/deliver within reasonable distance from Merseyside.
  23. And replied.
