  1. Defiantly back and possible ears!
  2. We tried out a new rehearsal room last night, another local social club as our previous venue wouldn't put the heating on again and believe me it was absolutely freezing. It's pretty obvious that they don't want us there anymore as messages to the manager about it and paying extra were ignored. So new venue was a nice little function room with a small stage but there was only a thin partition wall between the hall and the bar. It seemed a bit uncomfortable at first, even playing much quieter we would have obviously been heard by the customers drinking there. Also, the gents toilets were accessed by the side of the stage so we were regularly interrupted. Only the drums were on the stage so chaps off for a pee were walking through the rest of the band to get there. I think we'll be using it again as it was a nice little room with a better sound than we had before, plus the heating was on! They seemed pretty decent there and enquired about booking us in the new year. We'll just have to get used to the setup and the fact that our rehearsals are a little more 'public.'
  3. There’s a 300 on eBay and not a million miles from me but I’d guess that they are well over 40kg. I don’t need another stay in hospital!
  4. That looks great after all those years. I’d love to be reunited with my old Combo 300. Doubt very much that I could lift it now. I struggled with it when I was in my late teens!
  5. Very nice 👍🏻 One of these is definitely on my 2025 GAS list! Wish I never sold mine a few years ago, big mistake that I still regret.
  6. Last bump. I'm astonished that this has had such little interest. If it's not sold by the end of the year I'll keep it and be on the look out for a second TKS cab to pair up with it. BTW. I sprayed the front grill so it looks much tidier now.
  7. Warrington pub gig where for around 90% of the evening was played to my poor wife. Poor lass sat there in complete boredom, on her own! We played a ‘party’ set as we expected it to be a lively pre Christmas Saturday night and wanted to do something a bit different and have a laugh with the audience but sadly not. Left feeling genuinely sorry for the venue.
  8. Oh my. That's a fantastic little set up at a great price. Under normal circumstances I'd be all over this but not working is a real GAS killer! I loved my EA gear back in the day, very foolish to sell it.
  9. Certainly not for me then! Great looking bass 😎
  10. I wish they did but it would probably put an extra grand on the price! I love my Pelham blue and Inverness green non reverse ones but the whole colour range is not that exciting. Something a little more funky would be nice.
  11. Love it! 😎
  12. I think that this is the most beautiful Ray I’ve ever seen. The colour and that grain are amazing. Oh if only……. 😔
  13. I’d be looking to go vertical 4x10 with my Energy cabs. When funds allow I’ll be getting a second cab. Most likely overkill for the places we play but it’s great for hearing yourself I found. I used to do this with 2 EBS cabs and it sounded great.
  14. I like Rickenbacker's, I've owned a couple but that one really stood out and if I had the funds, I'd have beaten you to it! 😆 Enjoy!
  15. Was that the Bass Direct one? Absolutely beautiful!
  16. Up for sale is my 2006 USA Gibson Thunderbird. Comes with original fitted hard case, a new Hipshot replacement bridge, strap locks and recently restrung with DR Fat Beams. Bass is overall in good condition with only minor dinks and light surface scratches from honest use. Nothing nasty whatsoever. Frets are in excellent shape and truss rod is fine. The bass is 4.3KG which is a little too heavy for my liking but I have gigged it and it didn't give me any problems which was odd. I’m only selling as I’ve recently gone onto SSP and money is now very tight. Sad but that’s life. Now £1000. The price is firm what with the new bridge and strings. Bass can be collected from Merseyside or shipped to UK if you so wish to arrange. I have a solid guitar box and suitable packaging. Happy to meet up now an hour away from base.
  17. I took delivery of this lovely Markbass Energy 2x10 earlier in the week, thanks to BassBros 👍. At only 11Kg it's a shade lighter than my Epifani UL 1x10! Made from some sort of lightweight composite and Neo speakers means this easily the lightest cab I've ever owned. I took it to a rehearsal where it preformed as well as I'd expect a 400w Markbass cab should. Plenty there but I never like pushing a single small cab hard so after a quick trial I added my Epifani to make a 3x10 stack. The Epifani is a great little cab in its own right, but I am now after a second Markbass cab now to make either a 4x10 or 2x10 & 1x12 stack. These cabs are designed to stack neatly together as the dimensions are the same. The cab looks and feels well built. The moulded composite body has a soft feel to but it seems solid and sturdy. If you were to throw it about I'm sure it wouldn't do it any good but most bassists probably won't be doing that! It's also good looking cab IMO and the carpeted top and sides add a nice classy touch. So when funds allow I'll be buying another, either a second 2x10 or the 1x12. Very impressed with them.
  18. Wow! Absolute stunner 😍
  19. Up for sale is my excellent 450W TKS 1126 cab. Just an outstanding little cab loaded with Ceramic 12” 6” speakers and HF. Great sounding full range cab that cuts through with the 6” midrange. I’ve used this at rehearsals and a few pub gigs and it’s handled everything perfectly. Although it’s only 15Kg I’m moving over to the Markbass Energy cabs which are ridiculously lightweight as I’ll be struggling to carry anything around for a long while yet due to my recent injury. Good overall condition. There’s a few little nicks to the vinyl covering here and there and marks to the front grill but nothing nasty. All in all a top notch, powerful and tidy little cab. Collection obviously preferred from Merseyside where it can be viewed and tested but I should be able to ship if you so wish to organise. Can now meet up within sensible distance from St Helens.
  20. Compared to the Grabber these are great value for money and I’ve read some great reviews too. If I didn’t already have 4 Thunderbird basses I’d be onto one of these.
  21. Bargain. I’d love this but couldn’t be for sale at a worse time for me unfortunately.
  22. I took your advice and put a set on my Precision. I like them. Brighter than I expected which is not an issue at all but I guess they’ll lose a bit over time? I’ll be taking the bass to the next rehearsal and see how it all sounds in the mix.
  23. If it has to be a combo I’d be looking at a MarkBass one. I was very impressed with my 1x12 I had a couple of years ago. I later bought a 1x12 extension cab and it was plenty for any venue we played. Compact and light weight was a big bonus too.
  24. What a stunner! Bass is ok I guess 😉
  25. I’ve had a couple of enquiries about shipping the cab. If I had suitable packaging and a strong enough box I would but unfortunately I don’t. So it’s collection only I’m sorry to say. This is a superb cab in every way and well worth a drive out to the jewel of Merseyside to collect. 😉
