I see you used the random pedalboard optimiser to determine your layout? 😉

There's an extension cab in the for sale section, just sayin' (not mine before you ask!) Apart from the obvious volume benefit, this and the combo stacked looks awesome.
-
Definitely can. To be honest, on it's own it's loud, but when I pair mine with the extension cab it's very loud. I've said this on here a few times before but I have a number of amp and cab combos and if I just need to turn to something reliable, simple, that I know will just work then this is it.

Supertwin for me too. Suits the amps perfectly !

I would ask John @KiOgon whether he can make you up a solderless loom for your new project. The quality is excellent. You could then drop it in with the new pickups and then rebuild the existing loom at your leisure whilst still having an operational bass.

Needs must, no function band any more and new shiny things imminent so here's my full fat Helix up for sale, complete with the official Line 6 rucksack/carry bag. I bought it new from Bass Direct where it had been a show demo, so it had a full Yamaha refurb before me. It is is perfect working order. It's running 2.81 which is the latest version and has always updated perfectly every time. There are some tiny scuffs which I have tried to photograph but they've been touched up, and it also sports a full set of display protectors from Intime Nick's Designworx company. These are easily removable with no fixings left behind. It's a solid, weighty bugger so if it can be collected or we can meet then that would be preferable but I can post if necessary though that would cost extra. No trades please unless it's a Barefaced retro 610. (Sorry about the photos.my phone takes these extra wide images!)

I have a Evo IV 600 and it's a beautiful sounding amp. They have been know to occasionally suffer from failing 16v capacitors, which is an easy fix by an amp tech, who would replace them with upgraded ones. My tech did this on advice from Ashdown and it's been bullet proof since.

Anyone own both Barefaced Ten series and a Supertwin? Comparisons?

Nice one, shout whenever and we can sort something out. -

I have a Supertwin. I'm also in Northants. You're welcome to try it out! -
I'm using an Ashdown EVO IV ABM 600 in to a Barefaced Super Twin for this type of music. With a Precision. Sounds brilliant.

As it's affecting both pickups I would look first at components that both share, so I'd say the string, the nut, the tuner and the saddle. In my experience, if a jazz pickup itself fails, the whole pickup fails, not just the output on one string. Once you've done the hardware checks then it's down to fault finding on the electronics, but jazz bass wring is not at all complicated.

Our lead guitarist/singer uses the Blue Turn from IK Multimedia. It's small, easy to use and will work with On Song. https://www.andertons.co.uk/recording/studio-outboard/studio-outboard-accessories/ik-multimedia-irig-blue-turn-bluetooth-page-turner

For the backs of my necks I use oil soap (designed for wood) to clean any grime off then I use Birchwood Casey gunstock wax. I haven't got any basses with body finishes like yours but I guess the principle is the same.

Old Fender Owners Manuals for download
Muppet replied to Stub Mandrel's topic in Repairs and Technical
On a related note, you can also find a comprehensive list of schematics on the same site https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000840683-Bass-Guitar-Service-Diagrams -
Send the old one to Sims and thy'll make you an exact copy in anything you like https://www.sims.guitars/custom-shop/pickguards

Got mine done in under a week's turnaround by Aaron at Armstrong Pickups

I never really liked the MAG cabs, they did sound a bit 'woolly' compared to the ABMs a few years ago, but I've got a EVO IV 600 now and the sound through Barefaced cabs is awesome. I'd thoroughly recommend the amps.

I love mine and often use it instead of my Helix/ Barefaced or Ashdown/Barefaced rigs. I have the extension cab too which, if you really need to, makes quite a loud setup! I'm really not sure about it being heavy enough to warrant extra handles but that's your call. EQ wise I do tend to roll back the bass a bit, but normally start flat and work from there. The only thing I can really recommend is ditching the ugly Fender logos they put on these and replace them with the older Blackface amp logo like this one

So I've got this 72 Precision. It's sounding really thin, like there's no bass at all, especially compared to my other precisions. I'm assuming it's a pickup issue? Tapping all the pole pieces with a screwdriver when it's plugged in gives a tinny sound form both halves of the split coil. I started off by thinking one half of the pickup had given up but I wouldn't get any sound would I? Is this a pickup or wiring issue? Wiring looks fine and in good nick. thanks Steve

I use Replay Music (on Windows but there is a Mac version) https://applian.com/mac/products to record/download an MP3 from an online source. I then use Audacity to change the pitch to suit. It has a function to adjust the pitch in half steps up or down. I know that is two products rather than one but I don't know a single solution.

Setups on a 7.25 radius Jazz Bass - High volume on E & G
Muppet replied to sirmuppet's topic in Repairs and Technical
Both my current ones are vintage and I don't have any noticeable volume differences. Mine are set up to Fender specs more or less. I can only suggest reducing the height of the pickups or swapping them out completely. Very odd. -

This volume difference - it's seriously noticeable is it? How are you measuring it? Is your amp EQ flat? I have a number of Jazzes and using Fender's specs I've never had an issue. You've set, relief, action and intonation first, then pickup height last, all according to Fender specs? The usual way to compensate for volume issues is to adjust pickup height. The specs are merely a starting point from which to work from. Adjust to suit. I've never heard of using additional magnets - sounds a bit of a crazy idea to me. The first thing I would do after flattening my EQ and setting to Fender specs is to use a new/different set of strings.
