For any given piece, you could work on building verstility with finger patterns i.e 1+2, to 2+3 etc. This will enable you to spread the workload across the hand, giving short rests to areas of the hand as you go.

Playing ahead of or behind the beat
essexbasscat replied to arthurhenry's topic in General Discussion
http://youtu.be/OxiHuIKmWy4 This isn't played behind the beat (a fair amount of the time), but the beat well and truly reigned in -
Try a BAPAM practitioner, they'll guide you right they're medical practitioners (doctors, physios and more etc) that sort out ailments for people of the performing arts Best wishes for finding a quick effective solution to your problem

Chas & Dave......think it's Dave I'm on about here....
essexbasscat replied to Leen2112's topic in General Discussion
Played a charity gig this year for our band's ex drummer. His cousin was in the audience for the evening - Dave Peacock, who stood next to me on stage saying his bit. An evening I won't forget in a hurry -
Here in Blighty we forget that Herman's Hermits were a humungous act in the States. In our mental odds'n'sods drawer they languish alongside Freddie and The Dreamers, Marmalade, the Dave Clark Five and many other acts who enjoyed fleeting UK fame then ended up on the 1970's 'chicken-in-a-basket' circuit. Good that Mr Noone's still out there and glad that Blue had a rewarding evening.
+1, Well summarised Skank
Bought one of Marco's Eden 1x12 cabs. Honestly you couldn't ask for a more impeccable service from anyone. Excellent communication from the beginning, tracking number given to me when shipped and even then Marco tracked it to the point of sending an email telling me it was out for delivery. Brilliant. Can't wait to try the cab, it looks even better in flesh than it did in the photos.
Quoted Merton here, as his experience reflects mine. I bought a Thunderfunk from Marco, who gave me the tracking number when the parcel left him and kept me regularly updated with tracking information as time went by. I really don't see how anyone could have done more to ensure a successful delivery. Like many on BC, I've bought more than a few bits here and there. The deal with Marco has set a new benchmark for commitment and service A credit to BC indeed

clean your fretboard with Mr Sheen?
essexbasscat replied to MacDaddy's topic in Repairs and Technical
Read in previous threads that Mr Sheen contains Silicone, which seeps into the grain and leaves a residue that will mess up anything that follows it Mr Sheen is banned from spray shops the length and breadth of the country, as the mist hangs around in the air for ages -
I know this has been done before, but it's been a while and it's fun Here's mine. We played it around three - four months after it came out in 1973

A vocal tutor that you work well with will get you far further, far faster, than working by yourself. It's very, very easy to strain your throat and vocal cords in an effort to reach high notes and increase volume. This can lead to development of scar tissue and the dreaded 'nodes'. A good vocal tutor will help you avoid these issues and set you on the right path to developing a good voice, which can get you a long way in a band situation
would love this bass, should of kept my five string Letts,
I'm so glad you didn't, as I'm really enjoying owning it ! (apologies for the hijack). The price of secondhand Letts basses really doesn't reflect the quality of the instruments (in my experience). This has to be the bargain of the year
Hi, I'm Sam and have taken to hiding basses at work so that STMBO doesn't know I've bought another. I also have an amp there so I can play when everyone else has gone home. I am worried what's going to happen when I retire and have to clear out the warehouse at work and bring everything home. It might mean moving to a bigger house.
Guitarist in my band used to store his guitars and amps at work. Then took redundancy and had to sell off TONS of gear
When we started tracking the problem down, I was using a Shure SM58. We had some Samson Q7's as "emergency spares", so tried one and it improved matters tremendously, so that is what I use now. Actually prefer it to the SM58 and with the exception of lead vox, we all use them now.
I did wonder if it was a 58, I've had bleedover city at gigs with 58's on stage. Gone over to Sennheiser now, good so far. Thanks for satisfying my curiousity BB
