3.
Ah okay, so this kind of thing wouldn't suit you then ? It works for me, guess I'm not as excitable as you when I play
I love this board. I have a red dragon and microfuzz myself. I could do with Max doing a micro comp (not sure when the much discussed prototype might go into production) and a micro chorus (I have a full size analogman and have an eye on a mini chorus but would like to see whatMax could cook up).
4. superb Shep. Love the track. You are an inspiration mate.
5. I have a general love of soundtracks and indeed non-soundtracks that sound like soundtracks (thinking of Goldfrapp etc). I have also seen a couple of films played with live musical accompaniment including a version of 1922 Nosferatu. This totally blew me away. I then saw this recently featuring Hans Zimmer and Johnny Marr (starts properly at 7:30) Superb and something I would like to get into, odd as that seems given who I am and where I am, i.e., nobody, nowhere. Anyone out there involved in soundtracks and got any stories to tell, advice to give. I see that a local college does a music for films course. The live bit is extra I suppose to just scoring but still I think it's an interesting and underused multimedia experience. (hope this is OK in this forum?)

10. Scott is a pleasure to deal with. He tells you what he's got, he gives you a fair price and then once you give him money, he send his stuff to you quickly and very well packed. Simples. Trade in confidence. Cheers, Rich
11. I would thoroughly recommend the M87 compressor which I find quiet, controllable, transparent, all the things a good comp should be. Good luck!
12. http://youtu.be/4WKfuNBOcF0 musically he could do with getting away from the image as the poster boy for the Hot Hand. He's got a lot going on beyond the hot hand wobbles. I am looking forward to this. Sounds interesting, not completely my thing, but open to new stuff.
13.
deepbass5 is looking for one. http://basschat.co.u...onus-midi-unit/
thanks
14. SOLD SOLD SOLD i have a boxed sonuus b2m midi bass interface. Excellent condition. £50 posted UK.
15.
here's my board as it stands now. it's been a few years of evolution but i'm fairly happy with it at the mo. the signal chain is: bbe sonic maximiser (this adds encredibly useable soft & warm lows, and lovely highs to my precision's natural clanky bite) this feeds into.... bright onions twin blendable looper (i love this box. it's the heart of my pedal board. 2 loops, 1 master kill switch, and each loop has a wet/dry blend pot so i can preserve as much of my original tone as i choose. i'm thinking of modding the master kill switch to be an inverter so i can switch from loop 1 to 2 easier.) the two loops are: loop 1 - 40%dry / 60%wet rebel effects wooly mammoth clone (for all that muse type over the top dirt, incredible pedal) eh mini q tron (envelope filter) boss odb3 (used for gentle overdrive. i may lose this soon when i find something better.) loop 2 - 60%dry / 40%wet dha vt1-mk3-bass (ah, my favourite!! my gorgeous valve overdrive. set up for the sweet spot, when i dig in it really growls back. awesome tone.) eh double muff (gritty punching upper mids in single muff mode. all out nastyness in double muff mode.) then out of the looper to.... bbe sonic stomp (it's an optical soft knee compressor. very transparent. i don't have the comp up too high, just a touch but it really tightens up my p bass sound.) there ya go. as you can see, i like my dirty sounds. on most gigs i normally use effects here and there to lift the bass (choruses, middle 8's and other peoples solos), where neccessary, of course. i am a believer in the 'less is more' approach to my bass and use of effects and my toys give me the flexibility i need. any suggestions for a replacement for the boss odb3 are welcome. i'm looking for an overdrive rather than full on distortion.
you've got some good stuff goin on their my friend, nice board. You've said gentle OD and assuming you are not wanting a fcuk off expensive Darkglass for that, then I would recommend Max's micro Red Dragon - very pedal board friendly 1590a size and good boost, tone, saturation.
16.
Righty ho, sold my Orange TB 500, so this is now withdrawn. Cheers all.
brilliant, so glad you get to keep and enjoy the green monster.
17.
It's not sloppy playing to need mute the strings. It's not uncommon to get sympathetic vibrations from the lower strings, and if you are playing on the upper strings how are you going to mute them with the left hand? You need to use the right hand to do this. Muting of the strings should come from both hands, depending on what and where you are playing. But the need to mute the strings you aren't playing isn't due to sloppy playing....I certainly wouldn't call Jaco or Patitucci sloppy and they mute with the right hand all the time.
yeah, I see muting as one of the most important skills I have developed, and not sure that's a sign of me being a sloppy player or just a fact of playing a stringed instrument like the bass?? I can be obsessive in the studio using both right and left hands to dampen strings. In many ways that desire to limit the sound produced just to the note played dictates whether I anchor or float. I am not disagreeing with JTUK but just giving my perhaps odd take on something all my fingers seem to be involved in and not just those involved in generating the actual note I am playing - maybe that makes me very sloppy? I tend to think more OCD.
18. i suspect a scam?? no, never met the guy but he brings quality to the site in his views and generosity. All hail Clarky.
19. just about one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Given what you say, not going to wish you luck cause in the end you wont want to part with this.
20. Now it's sold worth saying I would probably have tried to sell it for £180-200, given it's reputation and newness (both the model and the actual pedal). So great deal.
21. he started posting when he had been playing for 18 months or so. He was VERY good even then. Check out his band vids if you want to see how he does it for real.
22. that's the very much swiss Flea sound a like Davidsinrocks! He makes that sh*t bass sound magic. He's all over the web. Great tone out of the fingers.
