1. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009ZITH5M OK so I bought this. I like it a lot (not absolutely but a lot). Great display of songwriting and production as well as bass virtuosity (Waltham in particular is a jaunty piece of virtuoso bass playing). We've got the dubstep wobbles in abundance, ethereal vocals, all connected to NN's statement that this is about profound love, connectedness to the creator and connection to extraterrestrials. If you've followed NN on FB etc then you will know most of the tunes - Follow Me, Millisecond have had You Tube presence for a while.
2. i like my ensemble king chorus. Rate, depth and blend in a tiny package.
3.
Me likely
you likely what?
4. this is my essentials board (obviously could be scaled up) - tuner>comp>OD>fuzz>chorus. I have recently removed filter and octave, which could easily be part of a bigger "essentials" board.
5. bump for sold items - still have the superb cables with neutrik right angled jacks.
6.
I like it Pretty close to my ideal. Main reason I never took the plunge with the MXR comp is that it didn't look like the attack went slow enough.
well you're the king of the SFX nano so that's very good of you to say. To be really really honest I like control just so much on my comp that I am not sure I would swap the MXR out unless I could be sure of the right functionality. The SFX does look tidy though and my board would just be so pretty.
7. if only I could find a 5 knob comp with metering in a 1590A casing then I would be sorted. I await Max's micro comp with mucho interest, but anyway I love me my MXR.
8. nice nice nice - monster bass, good price.
9. that's the kind of sh*t hot stuff that totally gets a room going. That tone aint for me but i see how it fits with the vibe the band are going for.
10. Ivan, a basschat giant, bought a pedal. wow, easy easy transaction, prompt payment, good communication. Great guy, trade in total confidence.
11. i really like my MXR M87 bass compressor. I like it has 5 knobs and gain reduction metering. Last time I looked there was one for sale on here.
12. crossover on the chorus is a great option - retain lows and sparkle the top. If the flanger's decent then you have a real winner. Ships December apparently.
13. the MXR, which I have, is great and I really appreciate the metering. It's 5 knob plus metering.

added my boxed TC Polytune as I am getting a mini version.
16. I have one. It is excellent, great control. Someone should buy this.
17. if the geezer has £1500 and wants to spend it on something lovely then Barrie has just pointed him in the right direction - Ampeg B15N. Oh yeah! Then it begins. Only problem is you need a fcuk off good bedroom to deserve one o them bad boys. I imagine Molan Heights as a trendy loft or baronial mansion, with its vintage fenders, Foderas and Ritters. Maybe we're OK cause "Pete Bigmatch" sounds like a guy ready to do business.
18. i hate myself for a few things but one is my blind spot for some obviously great music - keep trying but hate Dylan, and keep trying Steely Dan and while I dont hate them, they just dont do much for me. I will follow the links and try again now I am older still.

20. Yeah, assuming you will be doing a reasonable amount of headphone playing, I think the preamp, recording style set up is the way to go, with a wee combo for practice. Do you record? songwrite? videos? Anyway the Phil Jones Bass Buddy is an excellent tiny preamp with decent features including compressor. I loved mine. Obviously you could go mental and get a SWR MM pre or an Avalon!? That's would be a total luxury. In terms of combo, some good suggestions so far- Roland, ashdown, markbass - but if you really have a bit of cash, then a Phil Jones combo might be a decent option? Small, very good sound. The Cub is designed to sit by a desk or whatever so you could even use that for your headphone work, avoiding the need for a pre? There are bigger PJ options. I would maybe add in a B3 for FX.
21. Just got a nice long instrument lead fro Dave with neutrik silent jacks (1 straight 1 right angled). It arrived almost before I ordered it and it came with the reassuring aura of total expertise and professionalism.
