1. bought a collection only bass off Gaf - took a request to ship in his stride, no fuss. Good communication, easy transaction. Bass delivered safely (bubble wrap-a-go-go), when promised. 100% reliable. Trade with confidence. Cheers, Rich
 2. thanks for the interest everyone. Two updates: NEW PRICE £150. Also, generally no trades, looking for cash really to help pay off new bass purchase. However, have very specific trade options: either Fulltone Mosfet Bassdrive or Source Audio Multiwave distortion standard or pro (bit of cash to me for fulltone or MV standard). Doubt any takers but just to be as clear as possible.
 3. there are lots of different senses of "snob". One sense is when someone spends their time criticising others based on their own sense of taste in particular for things that cost a lot or have a good reputation. Such people are often awful but not always - my guitarist mate only plays ££££ vintage archtop guitars and only plays standards, refuses to play anything else, he doesn't get preachy about it though. There is another sense which is less focused on others and more on oneself - someone who cares about how they sounds, prefers better (not always more expensive) equipment, maintains their equipment, likes to stay in tune etc. I am in this camp - whatever I buy/own I prefer to be of good to excellent quality, but wouldn't think of criticising someone with a £20 bass. Most people are on the spectrum somewhere.
 4.
Yes, Barrie, we have a deal!
congrats to my nearish neighbour in sunny East Lothian. massively jealous - this would be a dream bass for me.
 5.
Do you have any audio clips or videos of how this one sounds? Does it come with a case?
the slightly humiliating answer given my background in bands etc., is that I dont really have the set up to record anything decent at the mo (i.e., something other than crappy miked up amp, anyway). I will give it a think. no hard case just one of my old padded bags.
 6. DEAL DONE I have a black Hohner B2A Steinberger style four string fretless for sale. Bought this in 1994 (I think) as an easy to carry way to add a fretless to my arsenal. Hardly used then or since. It’s in very good condition – high gloss black finish, a few dinks here and there, main one where rear bottom strap button (should have 2) is missing and bass has scraped on ground. It has some roundwound scuffing on the fingerboard. Slightly scratchy pots, which I’ll fix if I have time. Restrung with Elites a few weeks back in anticipation of sale. Wont pretend it has the greatest fretless tone ever, but basically a decent active fl bass that you can virtually stick in pocket. No case but I can throw in an old padded gig bag. I would appreciate £130 and collection preferred (Edinburgh).
 7.
I love my Corvette $$ BO. Extremely versatile, great fundamental tone, immensely fast neck even though mine it the older chunkier variety, superb build and hardware, unbeatably reliable. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Me too. I've got a $$5bo and I love it. Immense tonal variation, although I do tend to find myself coming back to the classic W tone.

 9.
Here my Corvette $$ in high gloss natural finish with gold hardware. I've had this a couple of months now, but been too busy playing it to take any photos, but here they are...
I got my $$5 in november - me likey big time. Quite fancied the 6 but got scared since I haven't ever had more than 4 strings. jealous now I see yours. Cheers Rich
 10.
Hey Everyone! the new rig is finally Done! Almost anyway Glockenklang bass art classic pre Dynacord lx2200 class d power amp Mark Bass 4x10 x2 (one on order) Sounds sweet, am using a UK made bass, so big up for european gear
would you mind offering up some insight into the Glock please? I am only really familiar with reports on the onboard. Despite not having the chops to cope with hi-fi sound I do love clean.
 11.
Dont get me wrong, they look like gorgeous basses but why on earth are Fodera's as expensive as they are? Are they just the "in thing" at the moment or am I missing something. Your thoughts please
Simple economics. Beautifully crafted, played by some of the best in the world, supply considerably less than demand = £££. If they were overpriced they wouldn't exist, which is quite different from the "ethical" arguments about whether any bass is ever worth over [state a price between £500 and £2000]. Dont think they've particularly become more fashionable recently (then again what do I know) unlike Ritter that I have gone from barely having heard of to "must have" in 2 years or so.
 12.
As for the guy who said, wait til you're middle aged, I had to laugh, I'm 47! (nice one, though)
oops - thats hilarious - you're as young as you feel I suppose. Anyway, great your still rockin grandad!
 13.
I quit the band I was in about 8 weeks ago, coz I didn't like the guitarist and was fed up with him abusing everyone (his idea of humour) Now, I'm depressed because there are no suitable bands out there and I'm sick of playing at home alone. So depressed in fact, that I'm thinking of selling all my gear and giving up music altogether! Anyone else ever felt like this? If so, how did you get yourself out of it?
Mate, I had similar experience - caught me at a vulnerable time just after Uni - I was getting somewhere with my band but they were fcukwits, descended quickly after that with 2-3 much less successful attempts to set something else up. Gave up, depressed, sold and gave away most of my equipment (thankfully left myself my trusty precision and an SWR combo) and got a "proper" job and family. In fact never touched them for nearly 15 years until relatively recently. Admittedly only back playing at home, thinking vaguely about setting up or joining a sh*t middle aged w*nkers (which I am now) cover band just to relive the glory. ABSOLUTELY HATE MYSELF for what I did (I so want my pre-EB Stingray back it hurts!). So all I can say is that if there is any way to play yourself out of your depression then do it cause when you're an old fcuker like me last thing you want is a hole in your heart where the music used to be.
 14. commercially there may be enough rich U2 fans and those who just like this style of bass to sell 20-30 units in first couple of years (similar to Zender?) - I suspect PR from Clayton's increased use of Warwick is the real deal here - he's def using Streamers and Reverso more in public and I would see general boost to Warwick to come from this that makes the Reverso sales pretty irrelevant. Also pretty surprised by the reaction - seems the Entwistle crowd are keeping quiet cause this looks like its aimed fair and square in the Buzzard etc style camp which seems to have a loyal if rather exclusive following.
 15. assume that is one of the original Precision basses I saw him play in the 82 tour. Still in my top 5 gigs of all time. I was at the Coasters, Tiffany's, and Playhouse gigs of the New Gold Tour - brilliant info and photos here including more of the Precision. >>here<< In terms of the bass driving the song without becoming too dominant, very few can compete with Derek's work on NGD. Beautifully produced album as well.
