1.
I thought the CTM 30 replaced the Little Bastard because some people didn't like the name. I'm easily confused though. The Ashdown web site has the Little Bastard, but not the CTM 30, so you could be right.
It did, but as you say, the LB remains on the website whereas the CTM30 has gone the way of all flesh...
 2. Soundslive gave me 46cm x 28cm x 30cm
 3. What's the weight and balance like?
 4. Excellent item at a great price.
 5.
OK - you have my attention. One of these with a 70s P neck profile, around 8.5lbs, and I'll pick it up next week. Thank you.
This, and also a straight copy of a 66 dots and bound CAR or Firemist Gold Jazz with lollipop tuners.
 6. Great basses and a great price too!
 7.
The 800 watt D class power section is the same Demeter builds for Jule Amps to power the awesome Monique Tube Pre.......or used to build. It is no longer advertised on the Jule Amps page...... Hmmm.
Still available direct from Demeter though.
 8.
Thanks - that's very helpful, particularly as you were a previous owner of a TTE! Be great to hear a little more in which areas, in particular, you feel the Demeter to blows the TTE out the water?
Well, the Demeter wins on the EQ stakes as the TTE is just straight bass, mid, treble and a VLE filter, whereas with the Demeter you can add dark/normal/bright mode, a selectable 60 or 120Hz bass, and a selectable presence frequency. The TTE does have a gain control if you like to dirty your sound up though, and a very nice tube compressor too. The DI is also standard with the TTE. But... the tone coming out of the Demeter is just amazing - it's never boomy, and the articulation is so clear notes just jump out at you, and they have a weight and heft behind each one that really drives your sound. I've never had so many compliments from people before about my tone.
 9.
I'm not sure Demeter are providing any form of protective casing though, which is kinda key if it's gonna be used for gigging. What would you recommend on that front?
I had the guys at Roqsolid make me a dustcover for it, which is fine for my needs, but I believe there's a Gator hard case that fits it too.
Wonder if you (or any of the lucky guys who've got hold of this new Demeter) considered the Markbass TTE 800 as an alternative? It's about £900 so about 30% cheaper than the Demeter, but is it in the same league?
I actually owned the TTE500 and it was a great head, but to be totally honest the Demeter blows it out of the water, for me at least.
 10. I had one of these many moons ago, really great cabs
 11. Which GG is said bass at? Could one of the BC massive could go and check it out for you?
 12.
It varies from tree to tree... weighing the bass itself is the only answer.
Agreed. I had two basses of the same model recently: one was fretted and weighed 8.5 lbs, while the other was fretless and weighed 9.5lbs.
I expect its sitting in a store room in the packaging it arrived in and they don't want to get it out to weigh it.
+1
 13. Great cab - punchy, full and loud. I'd buy it, if I had the readies, to go with the one I already own.
 14. Have you tried www.bassgear.co.uk? They sell the basses, so I imagine they could source the strings without much trouble.
 15.
I've decide I want a 5 string proper (i.e. unlined) fretless with graphite neck - what do you think my chances are ?
Status Graphite is the obvious choice there, either a whole bass or one one of their necks to retro-fit
 16.
Likewise.. I almost exclusively play fretless, so I take a fretless to gigs. Never been a problem - fretless isn't ALL slidy slidy!
Pus the one
 17. That seems like a hell of a lot of rig for the money!
 18. Old Horse Murphy is looking for one of these.
 19. I love Sandberg stuff, but the leather and now denim coated basses are truly awful
