Just looking at the specs of the MB 121 combo and ext. cab. Although being the same size, the combo is a few pounds lighter than the cab. What makes the cab so much heavier? Combo weight: 26.24 lbs / 11.9 Kg Cab weight: 29.98 lbs / 13.6 Kg

I'd agree with that, also with the case being tapered the narrow end is quite rigid with hardly any flex in it.

On my Warwick Thumb Bass with 18v active circuitry the batteries are wired in series but there is a centre tap to provide the pickups with 9v from one of the batteries so I would expect that one would run down quicker than the other. I last replaced the batteries in July 2015 so don't mind replacing both at the same time.

I went to Specsavers and got Elacin 25s after wearing generic 15s that didn't seem to do anything, I even have some cotton wool stuffed in them to stop earwax getting in. I wouldn't play or go to a gig without them. Everything is always too loud for me. I do have mild tinnitus in my left ear but I can ignore it. A couple of weeks ago, after getting some fret buzz I found there was no relief in the neck. Over a period I have loosened the rod over half a turn, been over a week since last adjustment and I'm still waiting for some movement. I hope I am turning it the right way (anticlockwise) as it feels like the nut is getting tighter and I'm loathe to turn much more. Reminds me of when I went to put some more relief on my Thumb Bass neck and finding there was no tension on the rod. (Also after turning anticlockwise I found I was tightening it) I took it out and the neck still never moved with strings tensioned. I had to put the rod back in the opposite way and tension it to put in some relief. Won't be able to do that on the t Bird.

Foam filters did nothing for me except made my ears itch. The Alpine ER17 xmas trees did not fare much better as regards sound reduction so when getting my moulded plugs I went for 25s. They cut the loud music level right down yet I can still hear speech at normal level. I wear them as player and punter. Money well spent.

Not being keen on xlr speaker sockets I changed mine to a speakon, easy enough, just a little bit of filing was needed IIRC.
