1.
I will never ever use Interparcel for any of my shipments. as there isn't an emoticon for "bloody furious".
Will this one do?
2. I think I'd live here.
3. The only signature bass worth considering.
4. Oh god, marketing blurb can be some of the very worst writing you'll ever see. There's one marketing bunch in the U.S. somewhere, don't know who they are but their style is unmistakeable. They wrote one of the old Peavey catalogues a few years back and it was unintentionally hilarious. Instead of sensible flowing prose, they use. A lot of very small. Short sentences. Half a dozen words. At most. And packed with as many clichés. As they. Can think. Of. ARRRGGGH. It absolutely does your head in trying to read it. I shall never forget their write-up for the T40... the first lines were "This is the bass they said couldn't be built. The rest is history". That first sentence was the longest one in the whole catalogue, I think. So bad, it's. Funny.
5. Actually, no, they're not. As of 30 seconds ago... Our members have made a total of 1,050,917 posts We have 12,031 registered members The newest member is nofrets Most users ever online was 4,599 on Dec 4 2010, 02:04 AM Anyway, back on topic... personally I suppose if I had to choose one single best bass model ever, I'd have to say 'Jazz'. Obviously, as far as the single best bass guitar in the world is concerned, it's my Shuker 5. But then again, I'm biased.
6. There's no way on this earth that I could play, or would even want, one of these mad monsters... I tried playing Doodle once and it nearly melted my brain. But I certainly like to see them. Fascinating stuff. More power to your elbow, & looking forward to the build diary.
7. I believe so, yes. Does it make much difference?
8. What is the best ever bass guitar? 12,029 members... 12,029 different answers
9. If you fancy something with a Sting-esque tone... you could do worse than this or this.
10. I like Elton and his music (Tiny Dancer is one of my favourite songs by anyone ever). I like a lot of what Ellie's done too. But this Your Song of hers just doesn't float my boat at all. Not saying it's crap. It's just really not my cup of leaf-infusion.
11. I've been using one of the original not-Bass-Collection Comfort Strapps since, well, forever. Bloody marvellous thing. It's very noticeable that if I use my other strap, which is a padded 3" wide leather thing, my shoulder starts aching after a while. The thick padding on the Comfort one really seems to be doing its job well.
12. Anyone who calls playing bass their dayjob and makes a comfortable living from it. I'm jealous of them all.
13. £12.50 plus the cost of the train means that I'd better start saving now...
14. Slightly OT but on the subject of being hit by women... A guy I used to know was out with his wife one night in Bristol… as they were walking past a group of blokes, one of them bumped into him; as he turned to say 'excuse me' this bloke smacked my mate and put him on the deck. They walked off into a nearby pub. My mate's wife helped him up, made sure he was ok, and then said "Right, wait here"... she marched into the pub, went up to the bloke who had smacked her husband, tapped him on the shoulder, and when he turned round she punched him hard enough to put him on the floor. She's about 5' 3" and maybe 8 stone soaking wet, and she decked this idiot in front of all his mates. I suspect he will never, ever live it down.
15. Rackmount amplifiers with the power switch on the BACK. Thus meaning that you've got to go shoving your arm into the back of your rackcase like Herriot up a cow in order to get the thing powered up.
16. I play a 5 all the time these days, and yes I use the B a lot. I haven't gigged a 4 for about 7 years now. I don't feel that one is necessarily better than the other, it's just what I personally want to use. I don't feel the need to justify my more-then-4 choice and if anyone wants to look down their nose at me, that's fine, go ahead. Whatever floats your boat. But the sad fact is that threads like this always end up as some sort of pissing contest, and to be honest it bores the life out of me. Life is too short for pointless snobbery, inverted or otherwise.
17. Aw man, that sucks. I presume the rest of you will be 'having a word' with her at some point? Our gig last night was a good one -- a xmas bash for a load of prison staff. Very swish do at a flashyy venue, easy to see where our tax money is going. What economic crisis? Still, it was good for a 'corporate', they were up and dancing all night and even wanted a bunch of encores. And i bumped into an old mate i'd lost touch with, a really good drummer i played with some years back. So that was a nice bonus.
18. Another Yam owner here. Mine's an RBX765A that John Shuker defretted and to which I fitted a big chunky bridge. Makes a great fretless bass, tons of mwah. Did Yam ever make an 'official' f/less RBX five?
19. Headlessness. Kubicki Factor's D-extension. Ned Steinberger's original curved body design for Spector. The chromatic tuner. Straplocks. Switched mode power supplies.
20. Never again shall I complain about a couple of poxy blisters or a spot of tennis elbow.
21.
How am I going to sell it on here now
Not all in block caps, ideally
22. I bought and made one of these a few years ago, as an attempt to boost the output level of some very weedy pickups... it worked quite well, although it didn't need to be turned up very far before the output became extremely high Would this work for piezos? I too am thinking of fitting a piezo bridge to a future project.
23. Richard you do NOT want this beautiful bass, you can NOT afford it.
