1. If I was to get a relic made, itd be a 65 Jazz in CAR and I wouldn't give a damn about picking up dings. My Shuker has got a couple as has my Wal (not really surprising after 34 years!) and I'm sure the Sire will in time. ATEOTD they're only tools.
2. Here y'go then ABG and a couple of WIPs missing from pic.
3. Left-right: - Ibanez BTB406 - Sire V7 5-string - Homebrewed 'bitsa' Precision - Shuker J Custom 5-string - 1980 Wal Pro II-E - Yamaha RBX765A defretted by Jon Shuker - OLP 'Stingray' Not shown: - Tanglewood Rosewood Reserve acoustic bass - A couple of work-in-progress basses in varying states of undress
4. Washburn AB34 is very good. 24 frets, really good upper access, loud for an ABG. Also recommend the Tanglewood TRB-CE Rosewood Reserve. Beautiful instrument.
5. What are the dimensions of the neck pocket plz?
6. Mine doesn't do the volume drop either. Tvr, I reckon with that and the binding issue you've got perfectly valid reasons to request a replacement from Thomann. Get in touch with them, I reckon.
7. Five all the way. I have several fours, but TBH I might as well sell them** for all the use they get. ** I won't, obviously
8. Moved to Amps & Cabs.
9. "You canNOT be Cirrus!" Getting coat now.
10.
Wow! Lovely - especially the fretless semi-solid one. P
Agreed.
11. It Bites, 'Once Around The World'. I wore my first vinyl copy smooth.
12. Meh-yow, surely?
13.
Whether my buttocks could stand sitting down
I don't know about you, but when I sit down my buttocks tend to do the same. They don't stand.
14. Depends if it's proper chocolate or that chocolate flavour stuff for cooking. In other words, is it fake? (See what I did there? )
15.
I have to agree... custard always trumps icecream.
It makes for a really disappointing 99 though.
16.
Yeah, agreed. You've got live album Bring On The Night, right?
Oh yessss. Worth having just for Bring On The Night/When The World Is Running Down. I keep meaning to get the DVD.
17. I wish I'd seen Sting on the Dream Of The Blue Turtles tour. What an incredible band he had alongside him.
18. So would I if it was a five. Nice defret job. Ditto, GLWTS
19. Lucky old USA and Canada. I wonder if the rest of us will get a look in?
20.
The whole "Original versus Covers" thing is a devisive, dreary and pointless argument that has been thrown back and forth ad nauseum in the past and really doesn't need revisiting yet again, surely?.
Fixed.
21.
When playing a cover to you play note for note accuracy or your take of the song?
If the original bassline is one that I particularly like or is key to the song, I'll try to play it faithfully. Otherwise, I'll add or lose bits or just invent stuff.
22.
Nah, the posts were older and not up to their original standard, seemed to be just going through the motions. At least this thread is younger and the posts seem to mean it more.
Well obviously you had to be there.
23. Tunisian progressive metal. Specifically, this bunch.
24. The original version of this thread was loads better.
25.
I've always been tempted to go see the... The Australian Pink Floyd Show.
I've seen them... absolutely awesome. Recommended.
