  1. Damn. Got all fingers and toes crossed for you.
  2. I always though 'fopp' was the noise the sht made when it hit the fan?
  3. Makes me feel a bit funny in the underpant area. Ooh missus. ❤😋
  4. @bigmuff69 last visited this site 34 minutes ago. Edit: and again 4 hours ago. I'd say that if he hasn't been in contact by now, its because he doesn't want to for some reason.
  5. My favourites are the Power Windows trio of Manhattan Project, Marathon and Territories.
  6. There have been three, all in the dim distant past, all snapped up by someone else while I hesitated. 1. pre-EB Ray for £250 2. Shergold 8-string for £195 3. mint SWR 800w power amp for £150 I kicked myself especially hard for no.1.
  7. That would be my choice too. Fewer masonry holes to drill.
  8. That is the coolest neck plate ever. I'm really hoping it says something about increasing farm production in the motherland.
  9. Do you have pics and a partial serial number that can be distributed?
  10. Whilst not actually a crap first album as such, for my money It Bites' debut 'The Big Lad In The Windmill' is not a patch on their masterpiece second album 'Once Around The World'. This for me was their finest hour by a long, long way. 'Eat Me In St Louis' was hmmm okay, and nothing they've done since Dunnery left has been as good either, despite the presence of the godlike John Mitchell at the front. Some of Frank Dunnery's solo stuff has been okay, but I find it hard to listen to since he turned into a complete prick on Farcebook.
  11. Freedom Fields is one of my absolute favourite albums by anyone ever. Nothing he's done since has come near it, for me.
  12. Our xmas song this year is based on Springsteen's 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town', with some cracking brass arrangements written by our MD. Love it.
  13. I think this line from the article tells us all we need to know: "As we briefly toured the Eames’ immaculate and sparsely decorated home - framed portraits of Jered hung throughout..."
  14. Worst purchase this year was a 6mm masonry drill bit, which resulted in me tearing the scapholunate ligament in my left wrist. That was in June and I've barely played since. Surgery coming up early next year. Best purchase was the set of Elixirs I bought in January which I've hardly had a chance to play.
  15. Our xmas gig at a comedy/music venue in Briz. I only played the second set, due to my ongoing wrist ligament problems; our multi-instrumentalist git MD played bass on the 1st. He also took the encores, where I sang lead vocal on Try A Little Tenderness. It was the last gig with our current superb drummer Maff and also one of the ladysingers Sian. She's my bestest mate in the band and has a truly awesome voice, I'm going to really miss her Lots of fun and a great night tinged with sadness.
  16. I would disagree on the importance of cabs. When I replaced my last Peavey 4x10 with an SWR Triad, the quality and richness of my bass tone went through the roof. That Triad was the single best cab I've ever had, apart from its 98lb weight
  17. In my 30+ years of serious gigging, there have been 2 occasions when I could have done with a backup amp. 1993ish, my old Laney 4x10 combo blew a speaker. Spent the rest of the gig sounding like an elderly flatulent rhino. Last year, my Shuttle 6 developed an intermittent cutting-out fault. Turned out that the preamp valve had worked its way partially out of the socket. Re-seated the valve, done.
  18. What I'd like for xmas is that tomorrow morning: all the religious and political extremists from whatever sect/cult/faction/wing they might be will wake up and say "You know what? this is a right mug's game. I've had enough of this violence and bigotry crap". Peace and tolerance break out all over the world. a scientist somewhere shouts "eureka!" as his/her latest attempt at a cure for dementia proves totally successful. my bank balance suddenly becomes unbelievably huge. health, happiness and prosperity is guaranteed for my friends and loved ones There's a whole load of other things I'd like, but many of them are too overtly political in nature to mention.
  19. I did that too! Were you there on the same day as me? Was he using his 'Chandlerised' pink Jazz?
  20. The best Fender bass ever IMO.
  21. ...on Sky Arts right now. There's just been concert footage of Bonzo's Moby Dïck solos, now Dave Weckl is discussing/demonstrating Buddy Rich's style and approach. Fabulous, I am hooked.
