  1. If the album mix is anything to go but there was no bass in this album 😜
  2. I recently picked up a great dirt pedal FEA fuzz thing and it's quite versatile but I find myself only using dirt in about 5% of the songs I play. Still it's good to have a great time on those 5% of tunes. For the cost of some boutique gear you could buy the basic parts and pay for a course in electronics and have the skills to make some of those pedals!
  3. I was all set to sell my DB680 and get a Noble but I figured if I was lumping the power amp may as well keep the 680 it's only another few kg's😀 It's one of those things that on paper makes perfect sense but I was after the 680 for ages and would be reluctant to sell it. Maybe if I can shift my back up head I'll take the plunge.....if the exchange rate ever picks up! Cheers for the clips btw
  4. I'd be interested in using one but the price is prohibitive. In saying that if it was your main 'sound' and did a lot of live and recording it would make a lot of sense. Big warm tone, pedal board friendly etc. I had considered selling my main pre to get one, I play about 40 gigs a year give or take and if I sold my main pre the Noble could replace it. Be interested to hear what its sounds like into a power amp. I'm supposing it could drive a power amp I'll pop over to the Noble site for a read!
  5. Flea and Chad isolated mixes combined https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG62J7nGmqc
  6. As mentioned in previous Joe Dart and Vulfpeck chat they use the Vulf compressor (demo's of it are available on you tube) which also adds a really noticeable colour to the overall sound too which would be difficult to reproduce. Joe's playing is great and he'll often use a mute and dig in quite hard
  7. In the past when I've had a separate di box with me I'd often just switch it over and tell the sound guy I was doing so. If it's gigs where my back line is being used and I'm there from load in/set up I'll always chat to the sound guy, explain what I'm after and what kit I have and usually we have no bother. I did once have a sound guy snub my preamp di for his cheap and battered di box but I unplugged it, carried it back to him and explained there was a Jensen transformer on the di out of the pre and if it was good enough for Boosty Collins to mod his Neve console with one then we could probably get by with it for one night. Ultimately you'd hope the sound guy has the basic kit and knowledge to get you heard. That is kinda the point of him being there irrespective of who's gear is the primary di!
  8. Laptop has been broken so no audio I'm afraid. Would swap for Cali76 TX version only if you're up for it?
  9. I think I've managed to guilt Apple into fixing my laptop so off the market for now I'll update once the outcome is officially confirmed.
  10. Price drop now that guitarguitar have slashed the price in these £415 shipped in the UK
  11. Embra is a top guy. One of the reasons we all use BC is dudes like this. But with confidence!
  12. I've no real excuse for a 1200w power amp (800@4ohm) but damn if it doesn't deliver on every gig. I've got headroom for days and when I kick I'm my drive I've no qualms about clarity or presence. Does it sound better than my class D? I certainly think it's got more grunt and it has heaps of power handling. Do I need 800 proper watts on stage at a pub gig? No but me and my drummer have a great time every gig and wouldn't change a thing. Do I need 800w on a theatre gig to fill a 2000 seater room? Maybe not but it helps 😀
  13. I run a Cali-76-G and love it. I don't use the germanium drive as much in my current set up and would love to do a trade for the iron core TX version FOR the colour it adds. I'm not that precious about an über clean signal and the added oomph form the TX quite appeals. I have a pretty good sound as it is but I'm willing to take a bit of colour from a 76-TX
  14. I was just offered one of these in a trade!
  15. Hey! Have you heard demo's of the Tech21 Bass Fly rig. I know it has a sans amp and a comp too. Might be something you could work with and close to your budget used I've used an mxr M80 in the past for a more modern drive sound and it's a good unit. I'd agree about the ODB-3 it can sound a bit thin but at low gain it's not bad and can stack well with other pedals. My old pedal board had a loop pedal with an ODB and a phat phuk stacked in one loop and they worked well together.

    Sold

Forgot about this one Would trade plus cash for a phat phuk
  17. These are the XL so long to begin with. Plenty of wrap so should fit most 4+1 basses
