1. That tort guard really makes the bass. And the colour kinda changes depending on the light. It can look off white or blue. Really tasty bass!
2. I was lucky enough to grab a Dingwall SuperPZ5 from these very forum pages. It's a 5 string P with a great neck, it's lightweight, great intonation and it sounds like a P bass it's got a cool tone knob which can do p bass, thump and a 'scooped' slap sound should one desire. It's my only bass and every time I consider getting another bass I play this and find myself asking do I really need another bass. Am I GAS free? Nope but this is like Subutex (Subutex is an opioid receptor modulator that is used to treat people with opioid addiction). Basically buy a Dingwall P5 and you've basically got a mixed partial agonist to prevent you buying another 'unnecessary' bass.
3. Bump Not interested in selling this but thanks to those who got in touch asking. The germanium drive does add a nice colour. I've been messing with it to have the bass tone with just a smidge of drive and it's a delight! I'll try and record a sound file over the coming days.
4. I've a TTE500 for the grab and go rehearsals but my main gigging venue has no stairs and parking right out front so the big rig -preamp poweramp set up - comes to those gigs as well as the bigger Gigs I sometimes play. I love the sound from the big rig and while it's heavy my Tecamp 212 isn't and it sounds good to me on stage. I'd love to get my hands on a couple of DB112 cabs but honestly the 212 is doing no wrong for me just now to justify a change.
5. Rooler case bought from Kevin Perfect for my needs and in tip top condition. Cheers
6. Bough some string - easy transaction and arrived exactly when he said they would. His feedback thread speaks for itself...all 9 pages
7. Bought a pedal from this local bass chatter. Had a couple of lovely chats and the whole process was great. Meeting folk who share an interest is half the fun buying face-to-face. Hope to do business again soon!
8. For sale is a 5 string set of La Bella Deep Talkin Flatwounds XL Scale (38" ball to silk) 45-128's. Got these off Old Horse Murphy but I prefer my Lakland (GHS) Flats. He only had them a week with minimal use. They were on and off my bass in a few days - I actually had to put the round wounds on for a gig and the GHS flats are going back on. I paid £37 but lets call it £35 posted. Bank transfer preferred! Cheers
9. So I've had this from new and would consider swapping for the transformer version. Not the Lundhal but the Iron Core A.K.A Cali 76-TX The Germanium version was limited to 100 units (mine is 37) and when you dial in the germanium drive it offers a really pleasing filth to the tone. Possibly this is better suited to guitarists but I found it to give a great tone for those Muse bass lines gobs of fuzz and tight compression. This would be for a swap only and I'm not interested in other comps. I just think I can make more use of the features in the TX version and I find the TX-L to lack some of the character of the TX Mine has been on my pedal board since I got it some some scratches on the side but purely cosmetic. It will come with the original (numbered) box. Thanks for looking.
10. I'll stick my oar in. Mark bass TTE 500 is an all valve pre amp (and analogue power module). I've pm'd you about mine which I may sell in the new year! It can sound growly with the gain driving the pre amp but has a master volume to keep things balanced.
11. The effectrode is great and adds a nice warmth. The Origin is great too. Budget will be a factor but the suggestions here are all good starting points. Ovnilabs is a great resource. Search google and prepare to be overwhelmed with good info
12. These are great amps. Heavy but solid tone! I had one briefly then traded it for a AVRI p bass and kinda regret it as it's a perfect wee amp for my pub band (if you don't mind the lifting) It doesn't have the voice switch but I never felt that I was missing out without it.
13. On hold for now

Great multi fx unit if you like to need to chop and change a sound per song.. I've used this in my covers band but going to sell off a few tings as some great must try pedals have come up in my radar! Basically this has about 100 fx you can activate as a single stomp box so for instance you need chorus on one song Click! Off you go. Next track need drive? Click there it is! It's got some whacky filter fx which are great fun and some synth things too. The reverbs and delays sound great and one of my main tones was the tube drive which I really like with the p bass. I found myself using this pedal a lot for home noodling as it's a great creative tool to have all those fx on hand. Includes: -tuner -tap tempo -midi compatible -exp pedal in -100+ fx Overall in great condition and comes with Line 6 psu, and is boxed. Condition is 8.5/9 out of 10 Price includes shipping in the U.K. Cheers
16. Price includes 2U rack case and postage Classic clean Ampeg preamp based off the classic 70's SVT-CL It's worth noting this is a clean pre but has a lot of versatility in its sounds. It can do that classic Ampeg tone with the addition of bass and mid selector knobs but my current tone is cutting the bass with the selector then boosting the actual bass knob. This adds great low end thump yet retains a nice clarity on the bottom. The preamp is in superb condition having spent its life racked and well maintained. I prefer this to the SVP Pro pre I had a few yrs back and think it's just a wonderful pre. My other pre is a DB 680 and it's the only reason I'm (reluctantly) letting this go. Not looking for trades on this unless you have something interesting. I had previously listed this priced a bit lower but with out the 2U case or shipping so I thought I'd just add it all in together and fix the price that way you know it'll ship safe and I'll sort the courier. Thanks for reading.
17. Price drop as these have come down in price New as the Mk II has been announced at NAMM £415 posted in the U.K. So for your consideration is an Apollo Twin Solo (Thunderbolt) current price £590 new. Mine has the original box and is in brand new, immaculate condition from a smoke free/pet free home. http://www.uaudio.co...pollo-twin.html It has been used at home for recording and general home studio joy. With it's unison technology you get near zero latency and the ability to control awesome sounding analog emulations of classic studio gear, amps etc. The B-15 bass amp which was recently released sounds mega! All plug ins can be demo'd for two weeks so you can try any plug-in before you which is very clever because you'll want them all Also the recent UAD software update makes it compatible with the recent Apple OS update. It comes with the 'classic bundle' along with some other eq and reverbs. From memory it includes: -1176 comp -LA-2A comp -Pultec EQ's (which sound great) -Amp room (basic quality guitar amp sounds) -Helios 69 channel strip -UA610-B channel strip -Reverb plug in (can't recall which one but its highly tweak-able) and others which I simply can't recall just now. I bought the Neve 1073 plug in (at full price £229) and I mainly use it along with the classic comps listed above and the Pultec but there are other plug-in's included but as my mac is f**ked I can't open it to tell you exactly what it has! If I need to replace my mac then this is for sale. If I can afford to fix the mac it stays. The thing which sets the Apollo apart is the real time control of 'analogue gear' emulations/plug ins. It does sound amazing and the quality of the unit and the plug-ins are second to none. Check out the link above and the extensive videos available. At the minute UA are having a massive end of year sale with up to 70% off many plug-ins. You could effectively buy this and with the money saved off a new one go and get some more plug-ins too! Although the unit is registered to me there is a way to pass on ownership via Universal Audio so the plug-in's such as the Neve which I bought can be transferred to the new owner. I bought mine from Guitar Guitar here in Edinburgh earlier this year and the free bundle was the classic as listed above. The current promotion is for the Neve and Fairchild plug in's which you will not be able to get for free even with the transfer of ownership. For £450 (your saving nearly £200) you get the unit, thunderbolt cable (which they don't supply and I had to buy from Apple for £25!), the free Classic Bundle plus the Neve 1073 channel strip plug in which is on sale for £79 until the end of the sale period but is normally £229. Questions via PM and I should know the fate of my mac next Friday Thank for reading!
18. Yup mine does the exact same - I bought a little fan from amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/RAM-150mm-6-inch-Clip--Transformer/dp/B00KCL33GA/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1479926824&sr=8-10&keywords=ram+air+fan I point it into the rear of the rack case to provide good air circulation - p[lus this way its at the back and doesnt make the rig untidy to look at. Well worth the money!
19. Some were a bit questionable in terms of their quality control but sounds like you got a good one.
