1. Is this essentially a rebranded Washburn vulture?
2.
That's there for a reason - Alembic originally started out modifying and repairing instruments, and one of the most common 'injuries' they saw were snapped headstocks as a result of basses basses being balanced against a wall. The point design ensures the use of a proper stand. But the tone! Seriously Ash, you would love it - huge, piano-like with a load of growl and sustain. I'm going to try and figure out how to make a little recording and upload it.
I don't doubt it for a second. I've always wanted a series 1. I've recently been sorting out my old Blazer. Got the truss rod unstuck and treated it to a new tone pot. It's all but retired my Bob Glaub and because its old an rough round the edges I'm less precious of it. Result!
3. That's some serious replication going on there. I'm just not sure about the point on the bottom of the body.
4. What ohmage are the cabs?
5. I really want this.... Exactly what I need right now. I have no cash or trade fodder though until I sell my Orange rig
6. This must be the cheapest alembic ever.
7. I've always wanted to own an alembic. Just not sure how well id get on with one.
8. I need this bass. Do you do 0%

Such a great looking bass. How are you finding the pickup?
12. Mighty might necks are pretty good to be fair, I have a restless one that's really really lovely.
13. If I'm being honest, this one. http://youtu.be/rPu9mLfLoOA
14. I have such a soft spot for thumbs, alas no money though, and I don't generally get on with active basses, it's just that body!
15. I need this bass in my life! That is amazing. I've always wanted a PJ dtb. I've always wanted an icb too though.
16. Love the natural one. Is the Jazz neck factory?
17. I have the same model (just in a better colour ). It has been a game changer for me. I've never been happier with a bass. Best P bass this side of £1,000 in my opinion. GLWTS!
18.
3-band all the way for me. Want a scooped sound? Just cut the mids right back. Getting lost in the mix, or need a really fat bridge pup fingerstyle sound? Boost the mids, roll off the treble, and boom. I use the mid knob so much that I cannot imagine playing my Ray without it. And having a side-mounted jack is also a major plus IMO - I hate front mounted jacks, and can't imagine why anyone would want to have a big fat ugly jack plug sticking out the front of their bass when they can have it neatly tucked away at the side.
Right angled jack? Works for me.
19. Does anyone have a gizmo that they can jam through headphones with but still get a good sound? Alas my 200 watt valve rig is too loud for home use
20.
Clayton lost love of his Lakland basses these days then?
Chris Lakin has made him a jazz in the same livery.
21. Perfect livery. I wonder how it would stack up to my skyline Bob Glaub. Always wanted a JV until I got that.
22.
I always wonder how many die hard passive bass only users connect directly (or via a wireless ) into an active preamp EQ section? If I put a stock Encore P bass into my Shuttlemax9.2 head I can boost all sorts of stuff and make it sound mega, get that bass home and plug it into a 15 watt combo and it sounds poop!
I run all my basses through a sans-amp bddi live for the dirt. But when practicing the same basses sound gorgeous clean through my fender rumble 15. I'm a die hard passive-ist. Active basses don't suit me. I've always loved the sound of a stingray. I've bought two and not got on with either.
