1. Mine is on a dimarzio lock strap thingy. Same as my other basses. I'm in the habbit of giving it hell on stage so I had to go for security over comfort. The weight doesn't bother me too much. Just play it slightly higher so my back doesn't bend too much.
2. You'll be ok man. Got a good chiropractor?
3. Jesus they look good in burst colours!
4. Hi I'm Ash and I've been a T-40aholic for 5 years. Mine is a 79 toaster, natural 5 piece ash (well four of the 5 are ash anyway) maple necked mojo beast. There's not really anything special about it as far as finish goes but that doesn't matter, tone matters and she has bags of it!
5. Hi mate. Kind of all of the above I suppose. Is it a trunk of a neck? I had a 78 which I miss the neck of dearly, it was pure poetry. I'm immagining it's glossed, not really a major issue. Is it deep? Mine was quite wide at the nut but then shallow. Kind of like a rick I suppose. I know what I mean but it's hard to word. I tend to either love or hate p necks and there's never anything real behind it. Just that something that necks either have or don't. Wow I sound pretentious now. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't answer re Reading that. Lol
6. Same year as mine too! You will not be disappointed
7. Both mine are none original. Makes no difference at all to anything really.
8. Ill mow your lawn/do your gardening once a month for the summer?
9.
Hold it right there!!! I think yours is a '79, Toaster?? I have now started to re-string all mine (when they need doing) both toaster and blade. In the past on the 40, I have used Rotosound, Stadium Elites, Martin and D' Addario. Stuck a set of Picato 735 LHY on one of my Toasters, also a 79 and . . . . .WOW!!! I have used up the six sets that I bought and have another 10 sets on the way. I am using these on almost everything now. Where;s the catch??? There isn't one!! Great strings, great feel, great tone, equal balance across all four strings and . . . . . . les than £8 a set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brings out a real "punch, bark and growl" Click on the link below. Stringmail I'll post a pic of mine later. Cheers.
Maybe Ill try that. Im gonna be pretty annoyed if I prefer them to the rotosound strings Ive used for the last 4 years as I just got a Rotosound artist deal mind. Does it not stand to reason though that Id get even more growl out of a rail? Mine is indeed a 79 toaster. Maybe I should just save for a rail one, not sell mine A/B the 2 then decide which i prefer. Oh the possibilities..........
10. I reckon someone missed with the routing machine.
11. I played mine at rehearsal yesterday through my sans-amp. I had to change the settings a bit from my jazz to compensate for the low end and dead strings combination but once I was done I had some serious growl. I'm really toying with the idea of trying to trade mine for a rail one because they're a little hotter Im told?
12. Good to see some T-basses around recently. I aquired a 4 not so long ago and I gotta say it sounds amazing!
13. Did you buy this after? I have a pearl white Elite II which Id recommend to anyone. I reckon this would be just as good. As far as Im aware it has the same electronics and neck as the black and gold Cliff Burton used. The Elite II is really easy to play for long periods of time and if you have fenders too (as I do) the neck is always a pleasant surprise when you pick it up. I vote do it.
14. I have one of these in pearly White/ivory, atleast I think it's an elite. mine has a different control config though. I have stacked pots. Awesome bass. Easily the best neck I've ever played.
15. ahhhh I really want a dark stared bass. this is gorgeous!
16. Damn I love westones. I really want this but have no cash and nothing really to offer as a trade. Unless you fancy an Aria SB II elite?

No, that was the problem, i wanted one sound from the bass it was in so a pre woulda been out of place. I have since put an SPB -3 in said bass and I'm now over the moon with the one tone wonder. I'm glad you're happy though. If you ever want to sell it hit me up. I think this could be my perfect bass
