  1. I had one, the neck felt great, really shouldn't have sold it.
  2. Thank you for all the suggestions and congratulations, I shall start investigating! Funnily enough we have played a couple of weddings, including our singer's but I don't think the bride's family would be into it!
  3. Sorry if this in the wrong section, I considered wanted but couldn't see any other similar posts so elected for here. Anyhow, I'm getting married in February in Newcastle and the band I had lined up can no longer make it - does anyone have any smart suggestions of where to look or that play in bands that might be interested? We're ideally looking for a band who do rock and roll/rockabilly (double bass optional!) covers of popular songs, any suggestions gratefully received. It's that or I've got to get up and play myself and frankly I'm not sure how the audience will take to a punk band!
  4. I'd go US, I really like the Mexican players but prefer the necks on the US models.
  5. I picked up the V2 when I was between basses and now I'm struggling to justify an upgrade to a Fender.
  6. Descendents - Karl Alvarez Rancid - Matt Freeman Anti-Flag - Chris 2 Booze and glory - Bubbles The Interrupters - Justin Bivona All exceptional melodic players.
  7. Fair enough. It seems to be a specific Gumtree scam where the first message received says, my [insert family member] would like to buy this, email him at.... I tend to get at least one per advert. Unless their cousin Barry really did want that old washing machine?! 😆
  8. There are a couple of variations on this but they are all scams. Just ignore next time.
  9. I'd get the performer, nice basses. I wouldn't look past the player series personally, they deliver everything you'd need from a passive bass.
  10. I've played this bass and it's great, a really comfy neck too.

Beauty! I was considering this myself, glad you got there before me!
  12. I've tried two performer precisions and loved them both. I'll be looking into getting one when funds allow.
  13. Tried one at the weekend, it was ok. I didn't really like the complete lack of finish on the neck.
  14. I'm in the same boat as the OP. I've owned US Fenders and a Shuker in the past but I always feel unworthy of them, like I'm trying to compensate for a lack of talent. I'm currently using a player precision and feel much more comfortable using it.
  15. Because we all know the US versions turn you into a rock god! 😉

  17. Nice bass, I've got the exact same, minus the cat.
  18. No issues with tuners either. I don't know whether the jazz is different but the edges are definitely not rolled on the precisions.
  19. I've got the precision player, it's excellent. I'm on the lookout for a player jazz myself as soon as a reasonably priced one comes up. Series is recommended.
  20. I can see a trip to Andertons happening when the v5 are released.

  22. I was looking at this when it came up, thankfully you saved me from myself! It's a beauty, enjoy it!
