1. Alright, I've seen something I really want now so this has to go. £200 collection and this baby is yours..
2.
Absolutely sure you don't want a 5 string?
Nah, I'm a four stringer at heart.
3. Haha! This is currently serving as my backup bass so unless something comes up you may be waiting a little while! Here are a few pictures to show the condition. I have also attempted to include pics of the dings at the base.
4. Took this to practice last night and is still a sweet play. Just not certain it fits into what we are doing right now. Had a couple of offers to date but nothing really suitable. If anyone has a higher value Jazz for sale and wants this I could be persuaded to add some cash to make the deal happen.
5.
A Roadster eh? He always had great tone. All in the fingers probably!
Yup, I regret not asking him what he played on Everything Sucks as it is my favourite of The Descendents albums. If you fancy meeting him he will be at the Russian Embassy in London tomorrow morning around 8 to get Visas!
6. ..And he was a lovely bloke. He was playing with The Real McKenzies in Brighton (Canadian-Scottish folk punk!) and the gig was thoroughly excellent! After a few beers I managed to pluck up the courage to chat to him after the gig and he was a charming, nice guy. He was playing an all white MIA P Bass that he says he has been playing for 15 years. It was interesting to find out he recorded all of The Descendents All album with an Ibanez Roadster! I was always of the impression he had used a Fender P or a MM but stand corrected It was wonderful to meet one of biggest bass guitar heroes and have him live up to the expectations that I'd put before him. Great night!
7.
t-bird+ hard case?
Already have a T-Bird Pro hence why this isn't getting played! To everyone else asking about sale I'm still looking for trade at the moment but if I don't get any interesting offers this may have to change.
8. Four strings only but thanks anyway. P/U's are the same as in the picture. Cheers, Liam
9. I'm considering trading my Squier CV 60's P Bass due to a preference for a Jazz style neck. Its only 5 months old so its in excellent condition although there are a couple of tiny dings to the bottom of the bass. The bass sounds lovely and was purchased after it gave a few MIM's an arsewhooping in tone terms but I'm not playing it enough to justify it hanging around. For trades I'm looking for a Jazz Bass- Fender or otherwise. If anyone has a CIJ Jazz I'd be very interested in doing a deal and same goes for a Sandberg. I'm willing to consider other offers, just hit me up with any offers. If anyone wants pics of it let me know. Cheers, Liam
10. Out come the wolves by Rancid. Opening track has a great solo.
11. I'm looking to try out some flatwounds for some recording I have coming up. I play in a punk band mainly with pick, any recommendations? Cheers.
12. Thanks for the replies, I was in crack converters (in gloucester) yesterday and there was nothing of interest, I may check out the place in Cheltenham tomorrow as I'm currently at a loose end.
13. Hi all, I'm visiting my mum in Cheltenham over the Christmas period and wondered if there were any decent music stores I should be aware of? Cheers!
14. They were good to me when I ordered my strap, although it was out of stock they kept me updated all the way to receiving it, good laddage.
15.
did you move it to behind the body where the neck joins?
Yup, I spoke to a guy local to me who sorted it out and with a thick strap added it has completely resolved the problem. I was a little worried as it was though body but doesn't seem to have made any difference, it was difficult watching it being drilled into though!
16. I bought the Pro on pure looks alone but I have really gotten into it. I also have an Ibanez SRX300 and a Squire CV 60's P Bass and neither are getting a look in now that I have had the strap button moved. Its dead easy to play and it just looks the business on stage or just sat at home, couldn't be more happy with it!
17. Picked one of these up recently and loving it. To be honest though, despite getting the long version it still doesn't seem quite long enough for me. Minor problem but it definitely is a cut above my previous straps.
18. I have the Epi Thunderbird Pro and I've been very pleased with it. I also have a Precision but always use the Thunderbird for our darker songs, also it looks very sexy!
19.
Played at The Bull in Sittingbourne with T Alan and Kunt and the Gang. Was a good show except the promoter didn't pay T Alan their guaranteed fee and didn't pay the soundman, what a knob. Good pic from the show.
Love Kunt and the Gang, he's a really good lad too, dead jealous you supported him!
20. I love 90's era punk ala lagwagon and the descendents. As far as bassists go you have to mention Matt Freeman, again he was the reason I started playing bass after hearing Journey to the end for the first time, still give me shivers. One my other favourites who hasn't been mentioned is Karl Alvarez from The Descendents and later All. He has a lot of the pace and melody of Matt Freeman but played with fingers which bloody impresses me! I'm always impressed by the dude from Anti-flag too, quite groovy. On the ska punk thing I was always a huge fan of choking victim, capdown and early howards alias, spent my younger years skanking away in dirty clubs in oxford, probably why I'm so good at it now..
21. GAK is down here in brighton and located in the North Laines, they are good lads there, they will sort you out.
22. I just popped down to see Bernie Goodfellow who lives not five minutes from my house to discuss the problem of the neck-dive on the Epiphone's. I advised him of what had been said round these parts on how to correct the problem. He didn't think it would work but offered to do it for free just to give it a go. 30 seconds later and the problem has been greatly reduced, thanks BCers! Also thanks to Bernie for having the time to stand around and chat to someone as unknowledgable as myself whilst doing it for free, a true gent.
23. I've got one of the new Epi Thunderbird Pro's, as its throughbody would it still be possible to move the strap button to the back? Or would it be better to look at getting a thicker strap?
24. GAK in Brighton has always been a winner for me.
