1. I punched a knuckle off my right hand, once, in what was a truly regrettable injury. Not recommended.
2.
I seem to remember it was a stock Alembic Spoiler that Jason happened upon and liked , and so he subsequently got Alembic to make him some custom basses after that . Some of the custom jobs were based on the Spoiler and some were based on the Europa model , if I recall correctly . The standard Spoiler was one of the more affordable basses in the Alembic range at the time , and I think the custom models made for Jason Newstead had the more upmarket Alembic Series electronics packages installed in them .
Are these the ones he also had waterproofed? If memory serves, he had them waterproofed as he used to sweat a lot whilst playing live - which isn't always desirable, pouring a pint of sweat into your active electronics.
3. I think it's just one of those you have to chalk up to experience. Yeah, chalk it up to experience and leave their contact details in various toilets.
4. Is this still available?
5. Is this bass good for metal? If only it had one more / one less string!
6.
Gusto. I`m afraid I`m gonna have to report you to our moderators as theres a 36 hour bumping rule about here me lado. Please read the T&C. They are about here somewhere.....
Sorry, this is my first post and I didn't read the rules. Bump.
7. Is anyone out there? This is a complete bargain!
8. Not a problem, thanks for adding - it's a lot easier to sell or trade when people know how much you want. Good luck with the sale
9. I think it depends on who is writing the song, as to how long it all takes. But, normally, it's a case of working out the chord changes, and then adding some flourish. I remember an old Victor Wooten lesson, where he talked about hearing the beat of the song - even when the beat is pulled back, you know what should be in that space. So I tend to find myself humming, or imagining how the line would work, and then going after that.
10. I've merged the two topics on this bass. Dr Pain, can you please add a price to this listing - people need to know what you want for the bass
11.
Sorry but threats don't work here. I'm having a civilized discussion so please feel welcome to argument without abusing your role as a moderator.
I make no threats. I'm in much more binary mood You have, over the course of this week, failed to have a number of civilised conversations. I have asked you before to consider the impact of your posts on others - I will now ask you to consider the impacts of your posting for yourself, should you continue to post in such an antagonistic fashion.
12.
The main difference here is that it's not me demanding to be respected in a philosophical forum... but here all amateurs and inmstrument collectors demand their views to be respected as if they were the ultimate truth. I'm very sorry but that's not going to happen. Not until you know more than me in my field. My apologies but that's the way it is and it has nothing to do with peoples value as human beings. It's all about knowing your place....You get that point don't you?
No, perhaps not respect, but the members here are demanding politeness - and that has everything to do with their value as human beings. Amateur or not, you will provide that to them.
13. I wouldn't conflate the vagaries of modern, particularly pop, music with the diversities of a history of music running over thousands of years. Music has had many utilities in that time: social phenomenon, ritual, communication, art... And, quite rightly, entertainment. I appreciate you have your frustrations, Inti - but they sometimes seem to consume you, reading the replies above. In terms of feedback, assuming I'm not too ignorant, I thought the playing good - tight, structured. I appreciated the thought and effort required. However, I'm with Nige - it didn't move me. The question, for me - and for the creator - is, did it have to? As entertainment, yes; but I mentioned music has many utilities. As art, communication, "self-growth" it perhaps worked all very well
14. I never consider anything sold until the money is in. Glass half empty, me To be honest, people window shop. If we had a physical store we'd see this - people pointing, or picking items up. Or asking for items bring put behind the till and then disappearing into the crowds. We don't. So we get PMs; snatches of conversations; questions - a lot of which, perhaps, come to nothing. It's far from binary. It goes with the territory - and that territory is a pretty safe place to buy, sell and trade. I'm willing to accept small pain for that.
15. Always the question, but does this come with the power adaptor?
16. He sounds great. You should take a hammer to your first meeting.
17. Moved to Other Musical items - people might miss this in Effects
18. Is claiming that metal is derivative now also derivative? It seems that even the criticisms are mere shadows of past glories
19. Epiphone Thunderbird. Bridge managed to pull itself out of the body under string tension.
