Limelight 00218 has finally arrived and what a beauty she is. I asked Mark to do as light a relic as possible on a '57' precision. She looks great, sounds great, and plays great. What more can I ask?

The way we were... in defence of Later (sort of ...)

This made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Obviously Mavis Staples liked it as well. -
Sold 1983 US Standard Fender Jazz, Fullerton, Ivory, Maple & White
Hutton replied to karlfer's topic in Basses For Sale
It absolutely astounds me that this is still here. If I was a Jazz player it would be gone. My '84' precision is a marvellous bass. It is indeed a shame that bass players haven't yet caught on to how superb the 82 - 85 Fenders are. Don't believe the nonsense you hear about quality etc. These basses were built alongside the first reissues that command high prices. This bass in this condition is a huge bargain. -

What a tasty Precision. Beautiful!

Very nice indeed. The relicing is quite superb!

That is quite uncanny. That is very nearly what I have ordered except I have gone for the very light relic with a candy apple red finish. Great minds think alike!

This thread is not helping with my waiting period! 😀

P Bass Gas - Vintage - re issue - custom shop
Hutton replied to deepbass5's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely. You can never be too careful. I once bought a bass from a well-known purveyor of vintage instruments only to find that the neck and body didn’t begin life together. -
Ah. Now it makes sense. Thankyou.👍

I have for sale my Fender USA Standard Precision from 1984. The Bass is all-original apart from a sprague orange drop capacitor being fitted. The original capacitor is included. The bass is almost unmarked apart from a very small mark in the lacquer on the top horn which I have tried to photograph next to a one pence coin. This mark has been on the bass since I got it about 8 years ago and has not got any worse. The condition is superb considering this is a 34 year old bass. The bass will come in a non-original Fender G&G Deluxe Brown Tolex Case. The bass is currently strung with Thomastik Flatwounds. I had to think twice about putting this bass up for sale as I have grown rather fond of it but I have one too many precisions so a choice had to be made. The asking price of £1200 includes delivery to the UK. I am not looking to trade. It is sale only I’m afraid.
