Hipshot Ultralite fitting - loose in the hole (oo-er)
Hutton replied to fretmeister's topic in Bass Guitars
I know this doesn't help whatsoever but I just wonder why can Hipshot not make the larger bushings available in the UK. It's surely not a difficult thing to do. -
Ibanez RS840BK

It is a very nice bass which was well worth bringing back to life.

Just sold a Fender case to Aidan. A true gent and a pleasure to do business with. I love it when a plan comes together!

I have for sale a Fender Black Moulded case which is the one that was in use before the current case. It is the one known as the 'red handle' case. I bought the case brand new and it has never left my house. It was bought to hold a Jazz bass which was only in the case for a short time before it was sold. The case has been sitting in a cupboard unused. It is in obviously excellent condition. Due to the condition of the case I am looking for £100 including delivery to the UK.

I bought this rather nice 1981 RS840BK back in September last year. It was in a bit of a sorry state and needed a lot of work on the body and a refinish to make it presentable. The electrics were also bizarre so the whole thing was rewired with correct Japanese pots. The original knobs and truss rod cover were missing and these have been replaced with reproduction parts from the USA. After the refinish the body was then given an 'aged' look to match in with the neck which was in very good nick. All in all I am very happy with the way the bass has turned out. If anyone has an original case that they are willing to sell I would be interested.

I waited four months.

I honestly doubt very much that you are going to get a pickguard 'off the shelf' which meets your requirements. You will probable have to go down the custom build route. Try these guys: https://www.originalscratchplates.com they are in a UK company and appear not to charge a fortune.

I have a used Fender Tweed Case by G&G which is for Precision/Jazz basses. I believe it is the deluxe case and not the cheaper pro series case. It has the red poodle interior. It is in excellent condition. I was told that case is from the 80s although I am a bit doubtful about this as it looks newer to me unless it has led a cloistered life. I am looking to sell this case but have no idea of value as I can't seem to find used items for sale. If any member has any advice on what the case is worth could they send me a pm. I want to advertise the case with a fair asking price hence my enquiry. Please note that I am not trying to circumvent the for sale forums as I have a subscription. Many thanks.

Problem solved. One of the battery terminals was loose. Phew! Many thanks!

My son has a newly purchased used G&L L2500 tribute series. As well as a couple of buzzes there is an electrics problem. The passive circuit is fine, however when switching to active a loud hum comes from the amp and the volume drastically reduces. Any ideas anyone?

Had the absolute pleasure once again of doing business with Andrew. He bought my Sandberg TT4. It is a huge bonus when transactions are carried out with people whom you can regard as friends.

I stand to be corrected on any of this but you are right in identifying a Custom with (I think) quilted maple. The pups are Delano MC5s.

Good advice. I think I'm beginning to realise that. Thanks!

Not really. The S-locks are very new and so it's unlikely that anyone will be selling just the strap lock part especially when I want a gold set.

Does anyone know anywhere that I can purchase the new Schaller S-lock without having to buy the strap button? I want to keep the original Schaller buttons on my basses but rather like the new S-Locks.
