1.
I've got my sights set on a GK Neo 2x12 and Neo 2x10 to replace my EBS cabs, but I've recently been informed that the 2x12's have been known to overheat quite often and would be wise to steer clear of them, yet I have read countless reviews on Harmony Central and TalkBass and haven't seen it mentioned at all. Any experiences that can shed any light on this?
Hi Josh - I had a 212 and a 112 GK neo and they sounded fine soloed and at low volume. What I did notice when using them live is that the longer the gig went on, and I suppose the warmer they got, the 'woolier' they became. I used 'em with a GK1001RBII typically at around 11.00 on the volume. I'm sure they're fine for some applications but I didn't keep them very long.
2. What was it?
3. Can't believe this - I was gonna put a wanted ad up for some Aggies myself. I better get in the queue then
4.
Lovely! Get a brown tort pickguard on it and it'll be fab
+1, slobber slobber.
5. Hey Marcus - is that 59 burst Sadowsky a recent acquisition from Guitar Guitar? I noticed it's disappeared off their site - I was gonna buy that very bass after playing Wayne58's NYC version. How is it?
6. Fooking sound limiters - I always tell 'em it's a breach of my human rights to prevent me from being a noisy bastard.
7. A posh wedding with my old band Nice Guy Eddie at the very spooky Samlesbury Hall. Played in The Minstrel Room and it was absolutely stunning. Rumour has it Henry VIII had a table ender with Sir Francis Drake in that very room. Brilliant night.
8.
It may now be withdrawn, but could this still be grounds for adultery M'lord?
Fook - I look like a bloodhound Noone would commit adultery with a face like that
9. You're all way too kind - it's great to have such good friends - thanks a bunch for all your offers to help me out. I gigged with it last night at a small pub in Oldham and it was fabulous and I've just this minute got back from doing a posh wedding at Samlesbury Hall where I used it again and it was truly astonishing. This preamp is fantastic - it's made a superb bass even better. I'm going to keep it and get my shoulder fettled.
10. ...and replied to kind sir.
11. Hello John - I dunno, I have an open mind. Best PM me with more details / pics / how much mahoney you're willing to shell out Edit - whoops forgot - please tell me how heavy is it too. Ta muchly.
12. Sadly, I haven't got Celinder money Pedro but if I did, I'd be in like Flynn. It's no big deal if I have to keep it, I've got my (very light) Rebop and my new P's not too bad weightwise so I'll just use this a bit less frequently and hope my shoulder improves. One day, I will have a Sadowsky.
13. Looks like the bass I wanted is sold I'll leave this up for the weekend - will now consider trades for a good Jazz - preferably a Sadowsky plus cash your way or a Fender / Lakland with cash my way.
14. Shame Steve, sorry to hear it mate.
15. I went to see a blues band last night - the bassist was using a USA Jazz (looked new) straight into an Ashdown Mag 300 head and an Ashdown 4x10 cab. He had the sound I want and at about a quarter of the price of my gear. Really pissed me off.
16. Thanks RayFW but I think soemone's about to buy the bass I want so it may well be withdrawn shortly.
17. Thanks Russ - are you coming out to play tonight?
18. Fanks Pedro
19. Any interest in a virtually new Spector Euro LX5 with a recently fitted ACG02 preamp / newish Hiscox case? Fact is I love this bass but I have severe shoulder problems and need something lighter and my ideal bass is up for sale here and now so this is a one off. If the bass I want to buy goes, this'll be withdrawn. Two slight issues - there's a hairline lacquer split on the back between the battery cavity cover and the edge of the bass. It can't be seen from the front of the bass and can hardly be seen from the back either. I've had to gently file the B string groove to get a 130 B string in the slot - it's a neat job, hardly noticeable and doesn't affect anything. Spector are aware that their bridges won't take a 130 B and I'm in negotiation to get a replacement bridge but there's no guarantee so it would be sold on that basis. The ACG preamp is a true revelation and the most versatile thing I've ever come across, and it's beatufully made and installed with love. Other members have played this and will tell you what a special bass this is. I'm selling it at more or less what it cost me - £775 ovno. Meet / deliver within a reasonable distance or ship at your expense. More pics (with new preamp) to follow.
20.
SOLD Seriously Al you could do a lot worse than flog everything and buy it! Steve
You have no idea how tempted I am to do that very thing Steve
21. Gulp Chris - I'd love that
22. I think I've played 'em all haven't I Pedro? My two favourites are the Thumb and the ACG but that RKS is something special too. All you need now is a PRS and and another TRB and you'd have bass acronym hell
23. Don’t deal with this man… I met him on the M62 at Birch Services last night and while his female accomplice distracted me with her sexual favours, he stole my wallet containing £300. I can’t believe I fell for this scam, it’s the third time it’s happened this week. Jake’s cool really and always a pleasure to deal with.
24. Great taste Neil but I'm taking it a stage further...I'm after an anodised gold scratchplate for it and then I'm going to paint my yoohoo gold.
