1. Glad you like it Ben - I haven't figured out a use for that bag yet - maybe a Markbass rig?
2. You can have the whole mag off me if you can tell me what's on the cover - I had a quick butcher's but couldn't see the transcription this morning.
3. Theys country and theys country boy - good and bad just like every other genre.
4. Thanks Mark
5. yeh - the ads are a bit annoying
6. I'll have a look at lunchtime - I don't chuck 'em out and the missus knows if she did, I'd pull her legs out of their sockets and beat her over the head with the soggy end.
7. It's just a place on the net where you can play / pause / wind back just about any song you like. I've set up a playlist of the band's set and use that to learn songs. I love it - it's good for playing music while you're surfing t'net.
8. I played my mate Russ' new bass last night - it was an Overwater Progress 5 Deluxe and I was really really really impressed with it. I was blown away by the tone of the thing and was just wondering if they (Progress 5s) all sound like that. I'd go so far to say it was the best bass tone I'd ever heard and I have to admit that along with the playability / quality of the thing, it's given me mucho grande. GAS
9. What's on the cover Pete? - I'll have it mate.
10. Usually, I do an hour every morning before going to work and occasionally another hour in the evening. This week's a bit different cos I joined a new band on Sunday / doing my first gig on Friday / 24 songs to learn. So, my regime this week is as follows; 1. Up at 6.00am and into my den - learning / practising until about 8.15 2. Bowl of porridge 3. Work interruption 4. Home for lunch 12.30 - resist overwhelming desire to watch Loose Women, quick bowl of soup then another 30 mins on the bass before returning to work. 5. Home at 5.30 - into my den for an hour or two learning / practising. 6. Eat food / watch telly 7. 10.30 back in the den for another half an hour on the bass. I usually copy songs onto a cd and use my Tascam Bass Trainer to learn them but this time, everything's been learned using Spotify - what a revelation that is.
11. I've just played Russ' bass and now I have something 10 times worse than GAS and it's BOG - Bubonic Overwater GAS - is there a cure?
12.
Oh no! wee've done it now Al
Yep but at least we'll get the commission
13. Not for me either Jon - I'm a bit too pie, chips and peas for that malarky
14. Can't wait to see it in the flesh Russ - looks the biz mate
15. I'm seriously thinking of buying another one and ditching my Hiscox hardcase Na - that's silly innit, but having trawled around all the NW shops looking for a bag I saw nothing as good as this for twice the price.
16. Yes there is Jon, but I think it's called Jazz
17.
Best of luck matey. To learn that lot in a week is a bit much, I think the rest of your new band need a reality check to assume someone can learn that lot in a week. Maybe I'm underestimating your talent? Do you have a day job or have the luxury of learning new tunes all day long? Enjoy your gig on Friday.
Unfortunately I have a day job that interrupts my playing I just noticed it's Friday the 13th too
18. Yeh that's right but I'll use notes and for some, it may be a case of walking around the root notes for this gig.
19. Just a quick heads up if anyone's looking for an excellent bag for not a lot of money - had mine for two weeks now and I love it. Looky here
20. It's not that bad Chris TBH - I'd already learned 12 for the audition on Sunday so - assuming they put those songs in the set, it should be just another 12 to learn. A doddle ...not
21. Any news Neil?
22.
I know 9 of these. D'ya need a dep?
You mean you'd do this for money?
23.
Well done Al. I didn't know you were looking for a new band, but a new one always brings new musical challenges. New new new.
Yo Joe, any sign of that new bass of yours
24. Sorry I couldn't make it Pete - had too many songs to learn - good band mate.
25. I'm looking doubtful now unfortunately - I joined a new band yesterday who rehearse on Sunday afternoons. I'm gonna try and persuade them to start at 3pm so I can at least have an hour at the Bash - my ears usually give up after an hour at these gatherings anyway. Be a shame to miss it cos I think it'll be a good'n.
