  1. Good to see Marc back playing after that train hit him (and the drummer?!), certainly sounding great on that Fodera! Si
  2. Sold the day after lol, says a lot for it!! Si
  3. As long as it suits it's purpose for you, then all good. But I wouldn't part with £10 for that let alone £150, dogs dinner. Had a mate who bought an Ali Express Fodera copy and it was just awful. He tried to rework it, but think he just binned it after all. Si
  4. Of the two, it really depends what you're looking to do. More clip-based electronic music, or live looping/triggering etc, Ableton is unparalleled, it is genuinely excellent. However whilst it is very capable of 'standard' audio tracking, Reaper is much more akin to the classic 'Logic' and 'GarageBand' visual, so probably a bit more intuitive straight up. You also get Pro Tools First with your 2i4, so that's another option, although I'm personally not a fan. I've been a Logic guy for the past 15 years, and there I'll stay haha. Cheers Si
  5. I had one of these (ie ‘lawsuit’ headstock). It was my first bass and was purchased new in the early 90’s, exactly when I don’t remember. Unfortunately no idea when they were introduced or when the headstock changed shape. Si
  6. I have three 34” 4 strings, a 35” 5 string, a 33” 6 string on the way (have had a few 33ers before) , and am looking out for a shortscale (30”). They’re all great for different things, no bother swapping between them all. Si
  7. Very kind words, and whilst I appreciate the sentiment, I will say that they’re very hard working :). They’re always having to keep on top of all the little tweaks and changes that Microsoft and Apple invariably force upon everyone haha. Lots of hard work behind the scenes. But thanks again Si // Focusrite Media Relations
  8. No problem at all, just make sure you give the bundle code to the person who purchases it. If they have any issues at all with the bundle code, tell them to contact Tech Support and they’ll sort them out Cheers Si // Focusrite Media Relations
  9. SOLD Need some new fencing (like allllll new garden fencing), so this has to go. It's basically as new, used a couple of times at home, but I just don't have the time to get really deep into it. Circuit Mono Station is a paraphonic analogue synthesiser that originates from the Bass Station II, with three sequencer tracks that benefit from 32 velocity-sensitive RGB pads. Fundamentally it's a two voice synth (although technically monophonic, look up 'Paraphonic synthesis'), with an incredibly powerful sequencer built in, as well as plenty of CV & Gate I/O. It also has an 'Audio In', which means you can connect your bass (or guitar, another synth, drum machine etc): Loads more info here: www.novationmusic.com/synths/circuit-mono-station# SOLD Only trade would be a part-ex for a Markbass Nano Mark 300 amp Cheers Si
  10. Sorry you had some problems with the 2i4, pops and clicks in audio are typically an issue with a given driver and the specific setup of the PC. Usually a call to our Technical Support results in any issues being solved (there are some 'usual suspects' for causes of pops and clicks in audio on Windows). In any case, obviously you're happy with your setup now, which is great, but I'd argue that the iD14 is a very different beast to the 2i4, it's a 10in/4out interface, and so controller software for routing custom mixes etc is more necessary. The 2i4 is 2in/4out and so has no real use for controller software everything is on the front panel. Cheers Si // Focusrite Media Relations
  11. You won't have any clipping issues on the 2i2 if you're purchasing a 2nd Gen version (there shouldn't be any 1st Gens at dealers anyway). You should also be absolutely fine with the driver on Windows, there are of course some other programs that can sometimes mess with things, but if you should have any difficulties at all, just give our UK based tech support a call and they'll have you sorted in no time at all Cheers Si // Focusrite Media Relations
  12. Just got my email to say the download is now available. Gonna watch it tonight :). Wonder when the prize draw will be?! Si
  13. I imagine the digital download will be the same date, so there’s not a big gap between people being able to watch it Si
  14. I stand corrected Si
  15. Not a switch, will be a 'Low Battery' LED indicator :). So one pickup, volume knob, filter preamp. Done Si
  16. Don't know if it's of any help at all, but recorded this years ago. Just had another look at it and it's on 18,000 views. Mad!! Si
  17. Little update! Neck carve next apparently Si
  18. Think you may be right!! Si
  19. My 35th bday (June this year) present to myself is my upcoming ACG build, I think it's actually trending to me ready for that month too....I think. But am also considering a 35.5 year present of a Serek short scale......or a Mustang.....haven't decided yet However, given an infinite budget, I'd go an original '54 Precision haha. Si
  20. Just talk to Newtone Strings and let them know what you're trying to achieve. String tension isn't about gauge, it's about core size. So you could probably opt for a BEAD set, but quite a light gauge, but have a thicker core. Mean's you'd have minimal work to get the nut to play ball, and wouldn't have a massive B string flapping around where a 125 might do the job! Si
  21. Very kind of you, cheers Si
  22. Internal based soundcards tend to be fairly old-hat now, with most being incorporated into motherboards. PCI is very old technology, and PCI-e is usually reserved for fairly advanced audio systems (Pro Tools HD, AoIP etc), so I'm not surprised M-Audio no longer support your old card. A PCI to PCI-e adapter will obviously only ever run at PCI speed, so you're spending money to get old tech working. The closest to PCI-e you'll get (with regards to speed), is an external sound card/interface that uses the Thunderbolt protocol. With regards to ASIO4ALL, worth remembering that it's just a WDM (Windows Driver Model) audio driver dressed up as an ASIO driver so that it's recognised by DAWs, as such, I don't believe you'll be able to use any more than the first two inputs and outputs (assuming it has more than that). So it may get you out of a fix, but don't expect any performance miracles . Si // Focusrite Media Relations
  23. Then you’re missing out on an incredible amount of fantastic info and insight. Oh well Si
  24. The only preamp/DI I have (if you don’t count my recording interface (which is both)), is my 3Leaf Enabler. Love it, always sounds great on gigs, although for recording I always go straight into the interface as it sounds great? and do the work in the DAW. Si
