8.
There's a thread running in this same forum titled - who's gonna buy this. Someone posted links to the 3 pre-EB Rays in this thread
Cheers for that Si
9. I don't really no much about the early G&L's, when were Leo's years etc? Always loved the ASAT's looks! Si
10. What are the three on eBay?, my very brief search only came up with a black '78 at £1800 (too much), and a natural one in America with bidding around £500 Cheers Si
11.
Here, Si. but then, you'd know that wouldnt you! ATB W
Well yeah, thats a given isn't it Si
12.
I have to say though that many people here will say they've never had a problem at all, so don't write off a 'ray just because some of us have had an issue, they're great basses when you find a good one.
Oh of course, certainly wouldn't pass on anything just cos of heresay Anyone know of good places to look out for Pre-EB stingrays? Si
13. Cool, I've been having vague ideas about looking around for a Pre-EB Stingray, so just wondered if it was a problem back then too! Cheers Si
14. Hurrow! Just a quick one really. Does anyone know if the well documented issues with quiet G strings on Stringrays was prevalent with the older Pre-Ernie Ball era Stingrays?, or is it a modern phenom (sic)? Cheers Si
15. Try some high tension strings from Newtone Strings. I had two basses in Drop C Standard for a good 3 years, using 45-105 gauge strings, with a similar action and tension to standard tuning! The only downside to higher tension is that they often don't go up to Standard too well. You obviously have to set the neck up to accomodate them. Remember that it's the core of the string that determines tension, not really the size/guage of the outer winding. Give Malcolm a call, tell him your tuning, and they'll sort something out for you....usually for a similar price to Elites/Rotos Si
16. Mmmmmmmm....Sonic Blllluueeeeeee Si
17. Guys can we leave out the personal sniping please, quickest way for you to get the thread closed! No one is going to agree on something so subjective, so why pointlessly argue?! Cheers Si
18. +1 for Steve! One of the best! Si
19. Nice one Joe!! Does 3rd place get anything? lol Si
20. Yes please list a price otherwise we'll have to remove it, many thanks! Si
21.
What cab do you use with the terror?
I use it with either an Ashdown Mini 4x8, a Mini 1x15 or a combination of the both Si
22. I have emailed the OP to provide a price and hopefully more details! Please refrain from calling each other names, you wanna do that, go to Off Topic (and we'll still ban you )....this is a sale forum! Cheers Si
23. My bass terror is awesome, yes it kinda just does one sound very well....the EQ isn't massively powerful, but I can't say that I've ever been at a gig and needed more than a tweak on any EQ to be happy. Over-Eq'ing an amp is bad IMO! But yes, remember that the Terror front end is the same as the AD200! Si
24. Obviously XB is completely right! But yes, experiment and use what YOU think sounds cool. As Mr Steve Lawson (and many others) would say...There's often a difference between what is right and what sounds good Si
25. I've heard from a few players that they prefer Dorian's softer sound than the full on Minor'ness (sic) of the Natural Minor. Certainly in some instances Aeolian is a bit much, depends on the song really! Si
