1. Belated happy new year Tom. Is that jazz width at the nut? Anybody thinking about this, I have contemplated relocating to Guisborough so Tom can set up/service my basses Cheers, Karl.
2. Unlikely Tony , it's probably going to cost a bit more than I can afford! Nice to hear from you, look after yourself, cheers, Karl.
3. Reduced to £400 collected/£430 delivered. At very least £200 (33%) cheaper than you can find new, virtually immaculate, with 3U unit and blanking panel, that cost another £60. 700 watts @2ohms, 500 watts @ 4ohms, 275 watts @ 8 ohms. Oh, and it's by Eden, please read the reviews Cheers, Karl.
4. Dual Tube 550 head. Follow link half way down on left of page. Likey looky Karl. http://www.ashdownmusic.com/index.asp (or am I slow and this is sooooo 2010?)
5. New venue for us, The Last Orders, Swinton (Manchester-ish). 1st of the year, massively enjoyable, return booked in Sept, our 1st available date. Great audience who were up at it for some classic old rock stuff. Even more enjoyable for me, as I gigged my new to me P. I set it up, action, intonation the lot. 1st time I've ever done that and it felt and sounded great. Also did some settings change on my amp, that I had seen in passing here, and that sounded awesome . Lovely night, still smiling, despite the Toon's best efforts! Karl.
6. Bloody hell Rob, that's a good price for a very nice Jap jazz. Good luck, Karl.
7. Have a bump on me too. I would have been straight in with PM about my Black/Black 'plate USA P Standard (upgrade), but it is also a maple board. Good luck with the sale, that's a great bass. Karl.
8. Gary Thain Chris Squires Steve Harris Jaco John Paul Jones All predictable except the 1st, who was just wonderfully melodic. I am sure this will have been done as a poll at some time, but, if not??? Karl.
9. Looks excellent. Will keep an eye out for one in my region. Cheers Mlucas, Karl.
10. Fairly sure the cheaper priced Basswood bodies are much lighter basses. Karl.
11. So get your musical goodies from Basschat Karl.
12. Now FOR SALE or trade. REDUCED to £400/£430 delivered. Includes 3U flight case/blanking panel. 700watts @ 2ohms, 500watts@4 ohms, 275 watts @8 ohms. Unlikely I know, but I would like to swap my Eden Nemesis RS 700 for the 500 watt Orange Terror. The link below explains this amp. Would also consider 500 to 1000 Watt head with just bass/mid/treble, not eq's/semi parametric stuff etc. My amp has 1 tiny scrape to the black paintwork at the front. Only reason for change is that I would like something without parametric/semi parametric. I can never get them to sound how I want them to. I will do photos of the actual item if any interest, however, link to one below. Cheers, Karl. Wigan. http://machinehead.co.uk/amps-c24/eden-s18...is-rs700-p2224/ http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/bas...s700/index.html Edited to put up for sale as well. Edited for photo's, the scrape mentioned is just to the left of the Eden badge. My feedback. 13. Pitchforks and lanterns time. I will happily go first. Karl.
14. My rig, only one I have. Practice acoustically at home. I love it. Sorry, dont have digital camera. Karl.
15. Hello and welcome to Basschat. Put some photo's up and you may get more than one opinion. If you do a search on E Bay you may find one that's been sold over the last few months. Also google it see what you come up with. Good luck, Karl.
16. Don't know if this is the right place, but, Mechanically I would like to replace tuners as 2 are very slightly bent. Cosmetically I need to source a black scratchplate and even more difficult a black TRC with "Rickenfaker" on it. Will probably need to source a bridge pick up surround, as when I cleaned it, quite a bit of chrome came off. I am staggered by how well made this thing is. I am just hoping the photo's will add a tiny bit to our knowledge of Rickenfakers. Cheers, Karl. Edited for spelling again!
17.
Just beautiful. Are you just about to give it a lick of daphne blue - maybe not a great move?
Eyes down!
18.
Looks like a Classic Vibe Squier to me... - Link here
Body/plate/controls, probably Classic Vibe, and probably same for pup and bridge. Neck, who knows? Classic Vibe is truss rod adjustment at headstock end. This one is 70's re-issue style with truss adjustment at body end. Looks like it could be a Mighty Mite neck? Karl.
19. Thanks A.T. Shimmed the neck yesterday and the action is massively improved. Next issue is to strip the tuners, see if I can tighten them and keep the bloody thing in tune. Serial number is B762972 which I am guessing is 1976. I must say, it seems really well made even though it shows signs of a tough life. Oh, and , what a sound!!!!!!!, especially through a 700watt rig. All the best, Karl.
20. £550 for a USA P? Really must be Christmas! Karl.
21. Richard Thomson, Thomson guitars, Wigan. Done all my basses except my latest weakness, and he will get that very soon! Richard does a fantastic job. Karl.
22. Nowt It won't last Karl.
23.
So Ernie's brother Eric has got in on the act too. Can't understand why it's had no bids ;-) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Eric-Ball-Electric-B...=item4155775c99
Karl.
24.
The power of hype.
Amen to that!
25.
And here it is. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fireglo-McCartney-st...=item255fbe9ccd Low start bid too.
And now it's with me Anybody point me in the direction of articles on how to adjust twin truss rods on a BOLT ON neck copy? The rods look like they have been painted over. The bass itself is, erm, more mojo'd than the photo's, lot of little chips and a couple of big chips, scratches etc. Virtually all the chrome parts are pitted, but I will inquire about that at a later date. Next years gig money will perhaps go to black Hipshot bridge, pick up surround and black tuners (wonder who gave me that idea ) . The main thing is to get the action playable as you could currently drive a Transit under the strings. One redeeming feature is ............... it sounds bloody fantastic!!! so I am very keen to get it playable. Hope someone can point me, cheers guys, Karl.
