If you intend to sell a musical instrument it's imperative that you convey an impression of knowledgeable authority to your potential purchaser. Make sure you Google any reference to your particular instrument, and if you get a result which includes any of your search terms, copy/paste the entire thing into your description. It doesn't matter at all if it's really not anything to do with what you're trying to sell - the thickies out there in EbayLand won't have a clue! Familiarise yourself with the correct technical terminology for the components of your item. It is a Base Guiter. The long part can be referred to as a Kneck, or alternatively, the Arm. The short strips of metal inserted transversely across the Arm/Kneck are Fretts. Some Base Guiters do not feature Fretts, these are known as Frettles Bases. The flat part at the end of the Arm/Kneck is the Paddle, and inserted into the Paddle are a number of devices which can be referred to as String Tighteners, or if you prefer, Turners. It is important that your buyers are aware of the good condition of your Base Guiter, so be sure to reassure them that it has little or no Frettware, that the Trust Rod is fully functioning, and that there are no problems with the Knut. If you feel you lack the confidence to portray yourself as the knowledgeable expert all the above will make you appear, simply say that you know nothing about guiters, but you took it to a shop, and this is what The Man In The Shop told you. This will instil absolute confidence in your customers, because everyone knows that the knowledge & experience of shop assistants is beyond question in these matters. J.
And that is all from the few FEEEBayers (Basschat members exc.) that are bordering on literate. Karl.

At 16, did a couple of gigs with a band called The Losers, all a couple of years older than me. Only standing in but they split, as the guitarist was going to the States. Chap by the name of Chris Rea.

Beats me that folks buy a bass, keep it one or 2 years then expect to get 95% or more back on it. Then they get pissed off with watchers but no bids. 4 Explorer basses since August, all around £200/£250 start price, none sold. They are £239 new from Thomann, with free delivery(I will eventually get one for £150). Another one has got a P Lyte on at £595 The list goes on, but if you want to sell you need to listen to what the market tells you. Have to admit the amount of times the word "rare" is used when there are 3 or 4 of the same bass on at the same time causes a look of incredulity. Karl.

Many thanks fellas, looks like time to drop Chrissy present hints Cheers, Karl.
great looking bass, colour just looks right on a jazz bass, i think i recall someone selling a P bass in that colour a while ago and i was strangely tempted bump for a lovely bass!!
Yeah, he was looking for £575 for the P, don't think it's sold yet, possibly changed tuners didn't help. I know that's what put me off. This Jazz is a beaut though. Karl.

Couple of folk mentioned in passing that they have cabs with castors on. I'm the same, so are these pads still useful and would they fit in between the castors on say a Goliath 111? I've probably missed the answer due to dimness. They don't call me 40 watt for nowt Karl.
Tell me about it! I had to remove a listing on ebay for a 330 copy three times, even after just showing a close-up photo of it's toaster pickup! The third time had no photos at all, but JH also strongly objected to the use of 'copy of... Weller, Townsend, McGuinn & Lennon' in the title description! He even sent me a cease & desist message, calling me a counterfeiter & describing my actions as 'sneaky' & 'cynical'. I like that Shaftesbury though, been after one of those for a while - not sure about the price(?). Anybody else on here going after it?
£200 seems reasonable, sold my slightly tattier one for £170. Be aware though, these are medium scale and it's not easy to get a low action. I'd always loved the sight of these things, but I found it awful to either play chords or play fast. Stupidly light though! Karl.
They don't seem to have Astor Piazolla's 'Libertango'. Or any decent jazz for that matter. Must be 'for lightweights only'.
Yup, 6 feet 1inch, 15 stone lightweight. Simply not as talented as many others, took me 2 years to work out Jaco's version of Blackbird, didn't have that amount of time to work on 30 rock songs. Can't read writing never mind music, give me hieroglyphs any day. Thank you Songsterr.

Used Roto's since Methusalah was a lad. Ordered some Status Flatwound, got them the day after ordered (brilliant service Status, many thanks) Strings are wonderful, really giving the P some thump, and not ridiculous tension either. Very happy, will try some more Status strings in the near future. Karl.

I found Songsterr immensely helpful when I joined BBGM back in March. I had 30 songs to learn quickly (well, by my standards and it really did help.
