Earlier this year (with an originals band) I turned up for a gig. Our singer asked if the support bassist could use my rig, 10 mins before a sound check. I said no prob, £500 cash deposit up front please. Said girly singer decided to call me a knob, so I told her no prob, she could give me the £500 deposit. I pointed out I NEVER loan gear out after a dickhead blew up my amp a few years back. At the time he just shrugged and walked, I got a £200 bill. Like many have said, the promoters should be organising this. Karl.

All PM's replied to. In response to some of the questions asked, hopefully the following link will go to some reviews on Harmony Central. Cheers, Karl. Never heard of the lass until she was on Johnny Walker (Thurs night?) Loved the stuff she did and will be getting some of her releases.

Crap. 1st bad one I've had with BBGM. The dozen or so there enjoyed it but; Virtually no bugger in, landlady had gone with half the pub to a karaoke night with all her cronies. Rest of the regulars at Mexican night half a mile away. Came back at 12.30 wanting to know why we were packing up. 1st and last at that one methinks, dummy seriously spat out. Karl.
........you were forced to listen to decent music....
My 1st band started off doing Hawkwind, Sabbath etc then "progged" to Roundabout and All Good People. Boy did I murder them, but I learned so much. Fantastic music and memories, cheers Hamster. Karl.
Original or otherwise, I make it a rule never to buy a vintage bass that's been in contact with the sellers underwear PS if I had a pound for every bloke who tries to sell a 'vintage Fender' on eBay, apparently knowing nothing about guitars, and having bought it from a 'bloke' who 'said' it was genuine and who the seller is now 'trying to track down' (planned subtext for the Paypal claim, "OK, I've been rumbled but really, I'm just the innocent victim here"), I'd be able to buy a real '70s Precision.... Hello folks, putting my Aguilar GS 210 up for sale. 350 watts, 8 ohms, with tweeter. Excellent condition with no rips. Warm and punchy. Mobile phone photo's but that's all I have. Reason for sale is that I have just managed to get a Goliath 111 to go with my Son of Bertha, so I can look a colour co-ordinated tart! (no offense to anybody who considers themself a colour co-ordinated tart) So, the bit you want to know. £250 delivered by myself, within 70 miles if Wigan. £220 collected from Wigan. I hope people will consider those prices ridiculously cheap, as they are firm. As ever, delighted to answer any questions, Cheers, Karl. My feedback below. The Griffin, Newton -le -Willows website, quote, "putting the roof back on after BBGM blew it off last night". The audience loved it, we loved it, 6, yes, 6 encores, which tested our repertoire (and my aging stamina). Despite sounding like an ego trip, that was probably one of the most enjoyable gigs I've done for over 25 years. Pretty much everybody there enjoyed an evening of live music, nearly all covers. Even the horrendously long Metallica "Am I Evil" went down a storm. Buggered if I'm going to consider myself "killing music" after that!

Silddx, stop winding people up, get your tip rod out and get after a Barbel on the Thames Bilbo, can you make it a "rock opera" based on the thoughts of the chairman? After years of writing/performing originals, and years of playing in covers bands, I just wish I was any good at any of it. Ah well, I can look forward to 2 sets at the Griffin in Newton -le- Willows tonight. Kill music? My bass playing has been doing that for f£%^($g years.

TOKAI ROCKINBETTER WITH RICK HARDWARE. **ON HOLD**
karlfer replied to tom1946's topic in Basses For Sale
Tom bought this off me. It's a superb copy with authentic hardware and I only sold it to get a P for what was a depping job(that appears now to be permanent ) Having dealt with Tom twice, I would guess it's even better than it was when he got it. Might not be a vintage Ibby, but at that price, IMO you will be very hard pushed to get anything better in this genre. Karl. -
