1.
Cheers man With the routing they still have an order, so eg. the OC2 is in the first slot, so will be first in the chain when it's on with any others... I think I'm toying with popping the DeviEver Ruiner back on, but at the mo, the B3K and the Rat King kinda have most of my dirty sounds covered. If you were adding a fuzz, what would you suggest, I'll go youtube some demos
hah well thats like asking how long a piece of string is! I like the IE Oxide for synthy fuzz, I do have COG unit due which which is a mix of rat and muff. What type of music are you playing?
2.
I'm in the middle of a serious pedalboard tidy/rethink/overhaul at the mo. Made some adjustments so I could hide all plugs, wireless receiver and power, cut the plug off my extension lead so it's a female kettle type end now, and have taken a lot of stuff off to have a think what I want/need on there... Here's a before pic - And here's a new work in progress pic, added in the Rat King and a Moen GEC9 programmable switcher - What are peoples thoughts on pedal order and what would I benefit from adding?
Ohhhh I like both the before and after. Looks very nice. Doesn't the GEC9 mean you dont really need to worry about pedal order? I've never used a routing system so could be barking up the wrong tree! I'd probs look at some fuzz if that would work for your sound?
3.
You've got a HPF on there!? That's quite interesting, what's the idea behind that? Mine just has the two LPFs, one for the distortion and the other for clean. I bet that Tarkin/TK combination will sound incredible! Have you got any special stacking options on there? It's quite a ridiculous thing with COG, I find myself getting very excited about other people's builds!
Hah well in theory - after much discussion with Tom - It should give me the ability to have a more nasal fuzz/distortion sound on the TK. Set to give TK or GT or blended orrrr i can also attach separate jacks and create chaos by running different chains right into each section (eg I could have pedal A going to the tarkin and pedal B to the TK or go A, B, Cog and get the full party). It will also have a 3rd input, so mega compressed signal or octaved or something. With cyborg ninja from metal gear solid as artwork (so single LED on the ninja's mask to show which mode is on). I freaking love Tom. It's amazing to get excited about Custom units, after being so disappointed a few months ago with another builder. To actually quote Tom - "This pedal will kill people" That's what I'm aiming for
4.
Totally agree! I think it's the fact that he puts serious time into testing, and it helps that he's a bass player too! I had him put a socket in for the op amp on my TK-421 so I can swap them around, but there's just something about the inherent tone that I love. I've had the clean blend and LPF put in, but find I'm actually using it more full on. It certainly holds the low end well enough! I've got a Darklighter on the other side, running at 18v. I originally intended for it to replace my mosfet Bassdrive, but I much prefer its tone. Not tried a Knightfall yet, but I'm sure I will at some point! ...
This is driving me mad! I have a unit with the TK-421-X and Grand Tarkin coming and all this positive feedback makes me want it NAOW! PS the TK will also have the LPF and HPF on mine too!
5. Tom is amazing. I've got a super fuzz coming. To say the least i'm excited!
6. I really like the sound of that. Sounds like I could actually use it, instead of y'know - make noises. Which I'll still do regardless.
7. Sold my Genz Shuttle to Steve. Great comms and paid instantly. No worries at all!
8. That was unexpected. Thanks for posting!
9. Ach its fine. Its just frustrating to say Paypal gift, thinking you'll get X amount then getting Y taken off. Ho hum
10. Arg! I bloody hate them! I sell an item for an amount with shipping included and have a certain amount in my head that i want, then they take a stupid fee Bank transfer only now I think. Feckers.
11. Bump - ad edited and pics uploaded.
12. Is (Are) the guitarist(s) playing fully down to D (Eg DGCF) or just the E string to D? I've always been okay just dropping the E with my standard string (Elixer Nanoweb - .105 E string), I use a Hipshot Xtender on one of my basses. Need to order another for my other.
13. Would be great for an iron man fan
Oooooh - supet fuzz as in univox / Fy-6 superfuzz?? Let us know what it's like if that's the case
Nah - TK-421-X (rat kinda with hpf) and grand tarkin (moof) with ability to blast em both and blend. With cyborg ninja artwork (mgs). Hopefully chaos in a pedal!
15. Bump - I want my PF800! oh and the custom COG unit. BUMP!

I've ordered a new super fuzz from Tom @ Cog - Technically the order was placed fully yesterday. Sure it still counts right
17. Is it wrong to like that...?
18. The pickups on my custom drive me mad. One has the logo in white, the other black! WHYYYYYY?!?
19.
I wouldn't mind checking out that Alesis. Even if hasn't got crazy range, it's great just to get rid of a cable. Cack that it looks to have a harwired cable though... in the wrong place too. Alesis naughty in hiding that fact with a big "new" circle posted over it too. Proper penny pinching in action
Its not bad - but the hardwired cable is a little annoying.
20. I bought my alesis wireless unit, fast shipping, let me know what each stage was - pleased Yodal actually were excellent ( and after the stories id heard, i was cacking it) - item arrived on a saturday at 6.30pm. Item in good nick etc.
21.
Only a small change today ... I had to take the very cool Starla tremolo pedal off the board - nice at it is I really don't have much use for it in the current band - and replace it with a much more useful TC Electronic Hall Of Fame. The tremolo pedal will have to go to an experiments board at home for the time being, maybe I can come up with something that lets it come back on the main board eventually. (For those who wonder, The G30, Thumpinator, SABDDI and Suhr buffer are hidden under the upper shelf)
Hah! I was sitting reading the chain and actually was trying to figure out why the weren't shown! Scrolling down works. Nice board!
22.
Check this thread- http://basschat.co.uk/topic/214429-wireless-systems-for-bass/ It's great that more and more units are beginning to appear. I noticed the Alesis one - not crazy on the pack and cable configuration but for that money, if it works, that's a great system. I wouldn't want to venture far from the receiver but in terms of just getting a cable out of the way, it's got to be a winner. I know cables that have cost more than that Alesis unit! Would be great to hear feedback on the Alesis kit.
I tested in the other day, walked about 30/40 feet and was still working great. I think it could go further. The cables annoyed me, but as you said. - 65 is not bad. Gets one cable away from my feet at least!
