EBMM Darkray 4 - Obsidian Black - PRICE DROP

Hey folks. i bought this back in February or March just because of my mild obsession with RATM and Timmy C. However, I’ve too many basses at home and in all honestly I don't do enough music stuff to warrant a myriad of basses throughout my house. So this got purchased and has lived in its case with the exception of 30 mins where I tested it out. Pretty much brand spanking new. The EBMM tag is still on the headstock. it’s limited edition worldwide (50 in each colour). This is the passive quentin blue version. it’s a brilliant bass but as I said, I don’t do enough to warrant keeping something like this. based in Aberdeen, can probs meet etc nearer Glasgow area. Or shipping. Though might need to find a box depending if the Status goes quick ha. Ta.

Tbh, I recorded with a pick just because it fitted better in our mix. Tried in practice and sounded alright.. but that was with the Status. But tried it with the jazz and it fitted crazy well. I still feel much more comfortable with my fingers though!

I haven’t posted in this thread in a while! Played a local bar on Saturday night. First time for the American Jazz and first time trying to play the set live with a pick! loads of compliments afterwards. Burned 600 cals according to my watch haha! Managed to keep ahold of the pick until the last song, have a gnarly bruise on my middle finger now. only issue was that my ACS in-ears are away getting repaired again so was using KZs from Amazon. Didn’t hear things quite as well as I’d liked! Got some pics and a video, it was live streamed but we haven’t got that yet. cfc5ed86-8502-438b-a48b-12c3ef413f55.mov

Hi guys. Forgot about basschat for a fair time and just got an email so I’m back! I’m only using 4 strings now, so this bass is living in its case not being used. It’s the “hysteria” bass (eg the one Chris uses during hysteria live) - the blue tinted woven chrome model with white LEDs. I used it for some recording and a few practices, but not that many. So still in glorious condition. Was on eBay, but just getting chancers or scammers. So it got pulled (when I got back the US). Currently strung with brand new Status Hotwires. The CW-2 is a proper good bass. I still have one CW-2 (one that has been built for Chris himself before being removed from artist stock!) and a CW-1 and both are absolutely superb. I do hope that Status do start taking orders again, but right now they obviously aren’t. I’m in Aberdeen. Happy to ship, or I could potentially meet somewhere near Glasgow area (persuade the wife to go for a jonty down the road).

It’s even more fun when you add DevSecOps into the equation!

Hi folks, thought I’d share this out as I’m immensely proud of it! Today our latest EP went live on a myriad of streaming services. It’ll be on Amazing music and Bandcamp today too. The Julian Year is proud to announce the release of their latest EP, The Price of Freedom. This 7-track collection features five brand new tracks alongside refreshed versions of their 2023 singles Rewritten and Legions, the latter of which received airplay on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe. The Price of Freedom builds upon the sonic landscape of their 2022 EP All That I’ve Become by introducing several new elements to the band’s powerful EDM-infused hardcore sound; these include nods to nu-metal on both the title track and Rewritten, trance influences on Breakthrough, and dubstep-style synthesizers coupled with extended-range guitars on the epic closing track Dogma. Staying true to their creative roots, The Julian Year continue to draw inspiration from popular culture in their music; the title track pays homage to the iconic Final Fantasy video game series, whilst Breakthrough offers a critical reflection on the actions of a popular TV hospital drama’s lead character. The Price of Freedom is now streaming on all major platforms. For further details, visit li.sten.to/thejulianyearofficial. About The Julian Year: The Julian Year is a four-piece hard rock band hailing from Aberdeen, Scotland. The band is made up of lead vocalist John Forrest, bassist Davie Brown-Wood, guitarist Scott Murray and drummer Steve Clark. Their music draws influence from a wide range of sources, including life in Aberdeen, popular culture and personal relationships. The band combines EDM-inspired synthesizers with massive guitar riffs and emotive vocals, delivering a sound that is both powerful and Nerdy part - bass was recorded direct using my Status Chris Wolstenholme 1 and 2 (5 String). Tone built with NDSP Parallax - it worked beautifully in tandem with both Status basses. I’m happy with how it sounds!

And this is an issue?

Yeah I don't get this attitude at all. It's getting more people interested in bass, and I'd hazard a guess that CB could rock a standard band gig with no issues. Just the technical silliness is what gets views. Not going to lie, when I was a kid I spent ages learning to play weird stuff. Zero reason why the mental stuff has to be locked to guitars or keyboards! Watching and listening to guys like Vic Wooten, Michael Manning, Billy Sheehan etc.

Hi folks, I bought this from Guitar Guitar about a couple of months or so back. Got it as a spare in case my quad cortex died at a gig but so far it’s never been used by me! I reset it and updated it back in April but that’s it, I haven’t even built a patch. i’ve decided to go for a solution like my guitarist and use a digital plugin in the event of an emergency. With NDSP parallax x having a transpose I’m happy to use that! So - save this getting more dusty - it’s better it get sold on and used appropriately! Based in Aberdeen. Happy to ship at buyers cost. I didn’t get the box when I bought it, just the power supply, but will be packaged well.

Played a metalfest last night. Great gig, pretty busy and we seemed to go down pretty well. One of the warmest stages I’ve ever been on! We got a new drummer and he did very well. Few cock ups but no issues! Our IEMs had a weird issue (I’ve posted in the IEM bible thread), guitarist could hear everything but drummer, singer and I couldn’t hear right and i was getting weird interference. Crackling etc. need to figure that out. Sound was Quad Cortex direct with my Status Chris Wolstenholme (v1). Muchos compliments after! Venue used smoke so photos were… difficult!

Hey guys, thought I’d post here for a wee bit of help! my band are using a very basic IEM system (Anleon S2) from our interface. We compromise in that we have a “balanced” mix so everyone hears everything (guitar, bass, vocals, synth and click track). It’s been working well but today at a gig - it went a bit weird… I was struggling to hear myself, and had my receiver at 100% volume. I use custom ACS Engage monitors. im sure I was hearing break up today, cracking and the like. The guitarist has the rack next to him and said he could hear everything fine with no interference or that. I’ve found out that the unit likely shouldn’t be used (operating in 670MHz range), so questions… 1) is there anything antenna wise I could do to improve until we get a suitable unit that ofcom would be happy with? 2) any suggestions on a similar unit (stereo in), multiple receivers that work operate in the UK space. 3) we looked into digital units 2.4 and 5ghz. Are these modern applications fairly robust in gig environments? Realise 200 people with iPhones and androids are noisy in the spectrum. Did have a read but wanted to confirm! Thanks in advance.

Wife took a photo of me at my gig tonight. I look like it’s my first day of school. LEDs weren’t even on yet! -
I don't mind people offering if it's sensible. If something is listed at 500 quid, don't offer 100! More annoying is a PM being like "You've priced this insanely high yada yada". Then the item sells for the requested price elsewhere.
