  1. I know haggling is a topic of interest here; but I'm open to sensible offers.
  2. Nice bass that! Enjoy (when you get it!)
  3. Can you spill what it is now? There’s a status up here and was tempted by, was it that? 😂
  4. Sounds like you have a Netflix documentary all lined up.
  5. Sad to see he’s messed you around twice. Hopefully you get it sorted and put it to bed and then no one deals with him in future.
  6. I’m in Aberdeen. I’ve got some events scheduled in Sheffield and Leeds later this year if it helps get the bass a bit more south. Aug and September respectively.
  7. Hey folks, Since I’ve back to rocking my Status basses, this bass is a bit surplus to my needs and I try and not keep instruments kicking around if not being used! it’s limited edition - with 200 made world wide (according to Google), and with the sims LEDs it’s even more limited and unique! Sounds epic and currently setup for G# D# G# C# F#. The strap pins were replaced with Dunlop locking pins. Darkglass preamp. Comes with Dingwall soft case and can throw in a proper Dingwall strap. The photos are the original ones (better light)! So hopefully the original seller doesn’t mind! And I’ve included ones with the LEDs on and off (with the switch etc). It’s a fantastic instrument and sounds great live and on record. Excellent condition. You can see a part of the fret dot next to the LED on the 24th fret. Based in Aberdeen.
  8. I was doing more recording last night, and both put smiles on me. Seriously considering selling my Dingwall and getting a 3rd. Considering the V-Man maybe.
  9. Few months back I got thinking if I was happy with my tone from my Dingwall basses… and the answer was “ish”. But I always loved my Status basses. Given my band were down at G# i thought there was no way I could use one again. My guitarist suggested trying to play at A# on a 5, so much more attainable and likely stable. And it worked, most of our stuff can be done at half step down, and for those G# times the Quad Cortex does a fine job. So, given Rob was feeling better and making basses again - albeit wooden with graphite reinforcement - I decided to place an order for a CW-2 with blue tint and white LEDs. I’d been after this combo for years. I thought the bass would still sound good, even though it wasn’t rocking as much carbon graphite as my CW-1. Possibly different, but still good! It has now arrived and… it’s fantastic. Great feeling, and the sound is awesome. Very similar to the CW-1. I went straight into a session to record a new track and it sat so well. I’m a very happy bunny. I am now considering selling my Dingwall 😂 potentially ordering another Status! If you’re considering a new Status, but think “oh they’re not made of graphite now”; don’t worry. They are still sounding brilliant. Genuinely excellent basses!
  10. The irn bru adverts have always been mental. I did enjoy the euros one 😂
  11. I saw them last night in Manchester. They were great, though seemed insanely loud! My ears were shafted. My ear plugs are due soon 😂 I got far too excited when JC walked on. also… SO MANY LASERS! I loved the ban. Though the dude in front of me insisted on stealing photos and videos. Great to watch most of the show live instead of through some wee fannies phone. Bucket list band for me!
  12. I keep being so tempted to buy one again. But I’m worried that I’d only use it for noodling. Not to mention I don’t currently have board space for one currently… the 3D printed cases that were being done… i wonder if that would fit. Hmm
  13. We use backing tracks for synths and vocal weirdness live - we went for a solution on a budget. I’m running a quad cortex, 1 output to FOH, 1 output into our audio interface. Guitar uses a line 6 native (or Fractal FM3 if he’s kept it… same setup as me) vocals (x2) are plugged into a splitter box and into the interface. We have DIs in our rack for FOH synth, and we mix our IEM mix in ableton and into a budget IEM rig. We can’t have our own mixes, but we’re playing small local original shows so it’s a compromise. Means we get vocals, bass, guitar, synths and click into our in ears and we don’t need to worry about a sound engineer/venue buggering our mixes (which happened previously - venues cabling was dodge). Drums are literally 2m away from us so we can still hear/feel them! Cost was much lower than if we were to rock the Behringer mixers. And it fits into a 2u case. Midi controlling all fx changes on guitar and bass, tracks controlled by FM3 or the QC. We did previously use a 4u. Can see it in this wee vid. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CrVLc3BIlHY/?igsh=bHhmZDI3aHVlcnNz Working a silent stage now too.
  14. YO TIMMY C, BRING THAT BASS IN! i’m also the same. I still adore his playing and sound.
  15. Yeah - I think the question is how they stream. A local venue I gig at stream, but the mix is completely independent of the FOH sound. So on the night it sounds awesome and I’m audible… to viewing the stream and I’m barely there mostly. You end up hearing them adjusting levels.
  16. The bus gates around Ivory Blacks are rough. I was down for a weekend away and parked in the NCP down the road from IBs. Pretty sure i went through a bus gate trying to get out. Saying that, nothing has come through the post yet.
  17. This is horrible to read. I’m not sure I’d be able to help, but happy to try. Will @ BassBros is a great guy too. However, if you can - I’d try and keep one at least. Something to focus on etc.
  18. I’ve twin Atlantic next week. and somehow missed that Tool are playing at the end of the month. Managed to get tickets as they’re on my “list of bands to see before I die” not hugely looking forward to the drive down though…
  19. You guys should defo be getting paid IMO. I’d imagine the barstaff and sound guy all get paid. You should too.
  20. Ooooooft! Beauty! If you’re on Facebook, the Dingwall Bass Marketplace maybe a good place to post. Sold an Afterburner there in about 20 mins.
  21. I’d much rather the cash. None of my band drink due to living out in the country or carrying loads of gear. Or my case, trying to be healthier. Collectively we probs spend less than 10 quid the 4 of us. But saying that, we’re an original synth metal band. £20/30 total usually. Though we did make £80 a few weeks back. Picked the gig up the same day and didn’t manage to invite many people but the folk there apparently enjoyed us. We genuinely didn’t expect a penny for that show ha.
  22. Interestingly, you’d be surprised how many organisations still push them. I’m a security architect for work, and remember going into a high profile insurance provider based in London and noticed they were pushing security info on screens (awesome!), except to get more info you had to scan a random QR code. The same code was printed out around the office. I told them to find a better way, and to train the users or we’d be burned. Few weeks later, there was a red team (simulated attack) performed and lo-and-behold they gained access via QR code. Temptation was immense to say “told you so”.
  23. I was playing G# D# G# C# F# in my band but i'm going to give A# D# G# C# F# a shot instead. Just because I have no idea how my new bass (34 inch scale) would handle G#. I do however have a 34 inch scale 160 (or 165) string set from Newtone if anyone needs.. Unlikely to need it now!
  24. So - we got the video back of the gig. The mix on the live stream was pretty rough... literally can't hear me at all. However... aforementioned LEDs might be a little bright... 🤣
