  1. This is horrible to read. I’m not sure I’d be able to help, but happy to try. Will @ BassBros is a great guy too. However, if you can - I’d try and keep one at least. Something to focus on etc.
  2. I’ve twin Atlantic next week. and somehow missed that Tool are playing at the end of the month. Managed to get tickets as they’re on my “list of bands to see before I die” not hugely looking forward to the drive down though…
  3. You guys should defo be getting paid IMO. I’d imagine the barstaff and sound guy all get paid. You should too.
  4. Ooooooft! Beauty! If you’re on Facebook, the Dingwall Bass Marketplace maybe a good place to post. Sold an Afterburner there in about 20 mins.
  5. I’d much rather the cash. None of my band drink due to living out in the country or carrying loads of gear. Or my case, trying to be healthier. Collectively we probs spend less than 10 quid the 4 of us. But saying that, we’re an original synth metal band. £20/30 total usually. Though we did make £80 a few weeks back. Picked the gig up the same day and didn’t manage to invite many people but the folk there apparently enjoyed us. We genuinely didn’t expect a penny for that show ha.
  6. Interestingly, you’d be surprised how many organisations still push them. I’m a security architect for work, and remember going into a high profile insurance provider based in London and noticed they were pushing security info on screens (awesome!), except to get more info you had to scan a random QR code. The same code was printed out around the office. I told them to find a better way, and to train the users or we’d be burned. Few weeks later, there was a red team (simulated attack) performed and lo-and-behold they gained access via QR code. Temptation was immense to say “told you so”.
  7. I was playing G# D# G# C# F# in my band but i'm going to give A# D# G# C# F# a shot instead. Just because I have no idea how my new bass (34 inch scale) would handle G#. I do however have a 34 inch scale 160 (or 165) string set from Newtone if anyone needs.. Unlikely to need it now!
  8. So - we got the video back of the gig. The mix on the live stream was pretty rough... literally can't hear me at all. However... aforementioned LEDs might be a little bright... 🤣
  9. About 3pm yesterday we got a message asking if we’d play a gig that night. So, with no recent band practice - we jumped on it. My 5 string anniversary Dingwall had some issues with tuning (it was going sharp) and only grabbed it from my tech place the day before. It would also have been my first gig with my quad cortex (since my last one died at a gig). I haven’t even tested if my “amp” setting actually worked, so decided to run direct (which I’ve wanted to do for years). We had some cable issues with a mic splitter so decided to forgo backing vocals and my QC output was quite low. I haven’t figured out why as yet. But we got everything sorted quick, crowd seemed to enjoy us, got some moshing and folk singing along. The basses tuning issues seem completely sorted now. Afterwards, I got complimented on my playing, my tone, my bass and my LEDs 😂 we didn’t get a photo afterwards due to being slightly moist, but grabbed one prior. Super metal looking poses. Fun fact: I had my Garmin on. 27 mins with a reported 500 odd calorie burn. I can live with that.
  10. These basses are absolutely amazing. GLWTS!
  11. Still available! I realised i also have the Will Putney pack that I can include. Brilliant sounds on offer, good amount of volume available. Open to offers on it.
  12. Aha I was watching your video earlier! Was good to watch. I’ve a 5 string CW-2 coming in the next few weeks, I’m intending to do a comparison video with my graphite CW-1. Dawn has said they’ve had good feedback about the new models.
  13. I think this also depends on the bass, when I’ve tried to sell 5 string Dingwalls they have sold much quicker than the ones I tried to sell with 4 (or 6!) strings. Yet the Status basses sold faster with the 4 strings. It’s very odd.
  14. Still have this. Great unit, awesome sounds, and quite loud. Also weighs very little.
  15. bump. Weird time for selling it seems. I’m in Glasgow tomorrow and Monday if anyone fancies it!
  16. Bump. I’m in Glasgow tomorrow and Monday if anyone down there would fancy.
  17. I was a solid 4 player before last year, I kept trying fives but never seemed to work. Until I properly sat down and went “hang on… this works!”. I don’t know if I’ll ever play my 4’s now either!
  18. Ah man. So sorry to read this. To echo, here is a decent place. Doesn’t always sell quick but people are generally decent. Think I’ve only had one experience where I was irked. Facebook groups can be okay too, just have your wits about you.
  19. Okay, I’ve ended up purchasing a new QC and a new bass. So this needs to go. Been listed on eBay and had it sold and loads of questions; then silence.
  20. this is one of my favourite hacking scenes ever. So silly.
  21. I never thought I’d scroll onto a thread about a reverb scammer and be met with network talk. The IP block person did say a slightly correct bit; you want to inconvenience the attacker. Any system on this planet has a way in. It’s a case of making it really awkward and annoying to the attacking source. Generally slow them down until they get bored. Obviously, this won’t apply to higher level players quite so well. That doesn’t mean that blocking an IP/range would work. Like people said, it’s a very broad strokes approach and will burn loads of people/potential customers for very little gain. People, Process, Technology. Teach people to be more cautious, have processes in place to ensure they are protected, have systems in place to block accounts etc. Anyway, on a scam related note; I wanted to grab a HX Stomp in case my QC dies. Saw one on a bass group on Facebook for a reasonable but slightly cheaper than usual and messaged the guy. Very quickly I was asked to transfer money into his girlfriend or wife’s account…then another random account. Bit of a red flag moment. I was out with my wife for a weekend away and didn’t open my phone for hours. He had messaged me loads of times throughout the night 😂
  22. Ayeee I’m giving a rough base for what I’d need. 160 / 105 / 0.76 / 0.59 / 0.43 is looking like would give “similar” tension according to that calculator (using Kalium strings). I know that V-Man is using Status (and has an sig model), which is 4 string tuned to B - so hoping Rob will confirm they’ll be okay.
  23. Truth be told I only tweaked the G# for that image! Current gauge is .150 .098 .076 .057 .043 If I adjust the numbers to try and match my current setup. I get the below. Am I best to try and aim for 40lbs of tension? Least according to that site at least.
