1. New project I'm in is Drop A - one guitar with a dropped E. I tried my 4 string and changed the parts to higher notes but something just didn't seem to click. Bought a Dingwall ABZ5, dropped the B to an A and now everything sounds how it should in my head. Thankfully it's just AEADG so not much brain bending.
2. Delay sold. BSW and Trem should be closed off tonight I think. Bump for everything else.
3.
pm sent on the IRon ether
Replied.
4. Next on the chopping block is:- [s]Digitech Bass Whammy - one of the new ones. Pretty cool unit. Bought it when it came out and have honestly used it like once or twice for about 10 mins inclusive. Just not using pitch shifting enough to warrant keeping it (adding weight to my board!) - Might still have the box, so looking for £120 posted. Iron Ether Oxide - Gated Fuzz - Selling because I have a custom fuzz from COG which is keeping my fuzz needs met Great gated fuzz, I love this pedal and no doubt i'll be on the lookout in a few months when I decide that the gated tone is what I want haha. - £100 posted.[/s] [s]Digitech Bass Synth Wah - Great pedal - does synth well, does octave well. Overall a great unit. - £25 posted.[/s] [s]Ibanez Delay pedal (DE-7) - Bought for one song (i wanted a smidgen echo) - can't justify keeping stuff anymore for a single use! - £30 posted.[/s] [s]Boss Tremelo - Good trem - bought on a whim a while ago. Still have the box. Again, It can't justify keeping stuff like that for single songs! - £30 posted.[/s] Willing to cut a smidge off the cost for muliple purchases. Based in Aberdeen. 5. SOLD Hey guys, Decided I'm only really using my fuzz and distortions now, so looking to sell of some stuff I'm not using. So first up, is the fairly rare Korg G5 Bass Synth. Great sounds, videos on youtube dont tend to do it justice. If you're looking a deep impact, this might tide you over instead of spending daft cash. Only thing though - The bypass on these is actually terrible (google it - common complaint!) - but sticking in in a loop seems to sort it out completely Dont think I have the actual PSU but it runs on standard boss type 9v power. Didn't get the box when I ordered neither, but will be shipped well! Looking for £185 posted - Based in Aberdeen.
6.
Ableton on a laptop might be better for your needs. There will be a way to do it on the iPad I'm just not sure because I'm not doing that sorta thing
Yeah that's the current method. Oh well back to the drawing board
7.
My band uses this https://itunes.apple...d345007170?mt=8 I've not played around with it but I'd suggest you'd be best looking for something that ties into audiobus and then you can do multi routing, I'd suggest you look at something like the Steinberg UR44 as an interface and see what you can do with the multi IO My band uses multiple iOS devices, I[m on an iPad air, drummer runs backing tracks from an iPad 4 and drum triggers off a 4th gen ipod touch. He could certainly minimise his but it's nice to have redundancy. Jamup has a whammy in it, you'll need a midi controller still or an expression pedal plugged into a Blueboard Like a sequencer or just something sending a signal on Midi CC11 channel? I've had some luck with ther drum machines being able to chuck anything anywhere largly DM1
Cheers for the reply I'll look at that app. Whammywise - it's really only for 1 part which lasts about 20 seconds. It's a physical whammy being controlled by the midi (apparenty cc11 is the channel it uses or something). Tbh we might just attempt to make the dubstep stuff in another way. It's a bit of a dark art this stuff haha
8. Righty - further to the above, i've done some digging and looks like I need an app that can transmit Midi CC11 messages? Does such app exist? Also bought audiobus and the multi routing stuff to play with
9. Hey guys - looking for some advise for this... I want to use my ipad mini retina for live stuff. Ideally replacing my entire board possibly... Problem is that my band use backing tracks for prerecorded synth tracks. Normally we use this splitter thingy into the 3.5mm which takes click and synth tracks. So using the basic music app works for that - however I want to use the ipad too for my stuff. Can you run apps together nowadays? And to make matters EVEN harder, we have one song with a midi controlled whammy. Is there any method yet we could use the ipad to do this? Can do the guitar/synth stuff on a laptop but we really want to get away from using it. possibly asking for a miracle haha. If it could do the whammy and backing tracks that might be enough.
10. I don't even know what this thread is about but I don't have a fender... Gawd - basschat, miss a day, miss alot!

12. New boards Just waiting on some daisy chains to power the thing! Possibly replacing the Trem and OC3 with a COG version
13. I'll get these photos the right way around too.... EDIT:- Um...They're the right way on my laptop. WHAT?! any ideas?
14. This arrived today! Wrapped with this...
15.
my pedal is finally on its way to me! finally got paid so was able to pay the final payment! cant wait to get it in on to my board http://www.cogeffect...uk/red-five.php andy
I saw this on fb. Looks excellent. My Grey Fuzz?! has been shipped. PS if anyone is wondering where the ?! comes from:- It's what snake says the first time he see's grey fox in Metal Gear Solid. There - casual nerd moment for the day complete!
16.
I have got to 50 without ever saying the offending word out loud so I guess I'll cope. I also made sure my bass was made of Mahogany, American Walnut and Ebony before I bought it, just to avoid this particular issue.
Won't lie - this was part of the reason I went Ash and Maple! I can actually pronounce them! Unless someone will now say its Ahh (with a silent S) and Map-lay instead!
17. Grey fuzz?! Nearly done... Custom insane tremelo planned. Excited!
18. Hey guys, Just noticed that Tom's released a new pedal to his stock collection. http://www.cogeffects.co.uk/dual-knightfall.php Looks pretty awesome, I've not tried the knightfall yet but it's on my "to buy" list. Notice tons of folk seem to be buying two of them so guess this new model will keep those folks chuffed! Here's what Tom says:- When you've got a pedal that does more than one thing really well, it'd be a shame not to have more than one of them on your board, wouldn't it? Well, now you can have two Knightfalls that take up a single space on your pedalboard. Excellent. The list of possiblities is pretty broad: Set one for warm cleanish tones and the other for your higher gain needs; set one as your OD and use the second to boost your signal either before or after your OD sound; have both set up as OD's and stack them. The list goes on. The control set sees the Bass switch moved inside the box for a broader range of options, and a 3-position diode selection switch added also. MOSFET clipping is selected as standard, with Silicon and LED also included. Custom diode selection is available, just get in touch! Each Knightfall has its own internal Range trimpot, which sets the maximum and minimum levels of distortion available from the Gain knobs. Higher settings on the Range trimpots will limit the difference between different diode selection. Just the job for guitar and bass, and probably keyboards or kazoo too if you're feeling frisky. True bypass switching for both Knightfalls is handled by relay, allowing the use of a new switch with a nicer action than our older 3PDT switches. More "click" than "clunk", and your audio signal will not touch the footswitch at any point. All jacks are north-mounted to provide a footprint only slightly wider than a standard Knightfall once the jacks are inserted. * Gain, Range, Bass, and Diode Selection interact to provide a huge range of overdrive and distortion sounds for both guitar and bass * 2.1mm Boss-style 9v DC input (power supply not included) * North-mounted jacks to reduce pedalboard footprint * Relay True Bypass Switching * Die-cast Aluminium box WANT!
19. I'm discussing a really insane idea as we speak
20. I'll see if I can test the two out. My guitarist has the V.
21. You should go FNM, soundgarden and soulfly were enough for me! Join me for a pint
22.
Bit harsh but I tend to agree. Sounds like the communication could have been handled better, but plenty of people (myself included) play in more than one band without issues. I don't really get the "loyal to just one band" thing at all, provided you have the time to play with different bands and be sufficiently committed, mix it up and play with them IMO, it's all good experience. I agree you should take your time and see how things work out rather than just quitting.
+1 I don't fully understand - you're in a 3 piece, which does covers? But your guitarist and drummer are forming/reforming a band from years gone by, playing originals? As someone else said above, if you've been together for 4 years and are still enjoying gigging - then why leave? Surely thats a case of cutting your nose of despite your face? Having two bands on the go isn't that hard to do. If gigs start being cancelled and what not, then yeah - look again. But I think you're worrying for no reason.
