1.
I've always wondered how Freddie Kreuger managed the toilet
Very carefully. What sort of band has no backplane on stage? Does it matter? Do you want to buy an amp or criticise why I'm selling it?
2. Both were surprisingly good. Sean's guitar looked like a semi Jazzmaster, with twin humbuckers and a Stairmaster/Coronado neck
3.
I was working at a school last year, they have an after school club run by the local church, I could hear them playing a cd to dance along to, "do you wanna be in god's gang, god's gang, god's gang?", errr no I'm good thanks
Depends if it was the local Catholic church...
4. Surely finding 1 competent drummer is hard enough?
5. Rarest bass ever? The one you don't have, but seriously want.
6. It was indeed. A sensibly priced replica with a few variations, but viable for the terminally skint bassist.
7.
How many peeps here look upon trading basses as a source of income ?
More like "outcome"
8. Yup, 16, bought my first bass as well, a Kay P bass. It was awful, but here I am, many moons later still dreaming of being Geddy or Geezer.
9.
I do hope you don't lose too much sleep over it; the profit of course. We're proud to make a loss aren't we?
If I lot sleep about it, Id be a dribbling wreck by now... er... hang on...
10. Shame they don't do the "California" any more.
11. My strings are branded, my bass is not. Does that count?
12. My packages are usually for the 'bike or the guitars. She just roll's her eyes and makes a quip "garage or study?". She likes eBay & baking. Obviously, I tolerate the baking... my waistline isn't that much of a fan. She's actually actively encouraged me to try and get another band going, and actually said that my current No.1 bass was the nicest I've had.
13. It depends on whether you traded it in at a shop, or sold it privately. Shops also have to take into account what they paid out, VAT, and hopefully for them a small margin of profit. Private sellers have to consider what they paid out. Only ever made a profit on a handful of gear I've purchased through the many years I've been playing. Given the amount of gear I've gone through, the profit is an insignificant amount compared to the losses. Though the biggest loss to date was 50% on an L2000 Tribute. Best profit was on my old 4003.
14. Was in a strange place at 16, was transitioning from proggy-rock to thrash metal, goth and punk.
15. Have a look at http://www.retrovibe.co.uk/parts/pickups.html
16. Those little sachets of silicon work a treat too
17. Great pedals, good luck with the sale.
18. I've had a few of their guitar pickups, and they were great. No experience of their bass range though.
19. Statistically, that's 40% of rehearsals cancelled for sickness, 30% where not everyone turned up, leaving 30% where everyone turned up. If it were me, I'd be getting a tad frustrated at this point. And, yes, if the guitarist cancelled at the last minute, then he should carry the cost of the room.
20. A 4003 A 4004 A nice P/J with a P neck A new motorbike
21. Sweet, want another 4003, just can't afford one.
22. A big thumbs up for the kick in the arse. Big shame about the circumstances.
