1. Okay, so I picked up a fantastic Fender FSR PJ-bass special a few weeks back and I love how the neck feels, especially the finish!! The neck is a maple, with a high gloss finish (this thing is literally like glass), black binding and block inlays, but still has the standard P-bass spacing at the nut. For me, this neck is perfect in terms of looks and feel, however, finding more basses like this seems to be hard work. One that caught my eye, is the 70's classic series P-bass, same neck but on a white body. Now rather than spend months sourcing one for a price I can't justify spending, i have noticed that you can actually buy the neck separately, in the exact same spec! The only issue I've had with this, is finding a supplier in the UK to go through!! Both Andertons and Richtone Music stock replacement Fender parts, however neither stock this specific model, and the jazz replacements of the same spec are around the £450 Mark. Does anybody know of anywhere that would stock these parts or be able to order in one of these necks without breaking the bank? I've seen a few on reverb.com, however shipping from the states, in my experience, is never cheap. Alternatively, does anyone know anyone who makes these as a licenced fender replacement to the same spec as the "real deal" Thanks for looking guys. https://reverb.com/item/8384042-new-fender-70s-precision-p-bass-replacement-neck-maple-block-inlays-099-2010-921
2. I'm in the process of upgrading a squier jazz bass and am planning on going with one of these, however I've read mixed reviews on both but nobody comparing the two? Has anybody had experience with both? The jazz bass now has a P pickup so thought the adjustable spacing could come in handy. Thanks
3. Hey guys thanks for all the replies!! After doing some more research, I managed to get my hands on a Squier vintage modified jazz bass for £140!! Although the natural finish looks great, I'm going to send it off to Retro169 to refinish and give the neck a clearcoat. After that, it'll be loaded with a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound PJ set, however I'm still unsure on whether I'll put a preamp in with it... Thanks again guys
4. Hey guys, So basically, ive always wanted to get my hands on a Daphne blue jazz bass with a maple neck, but these things are near impossible to come across, and on the rare occasions that they do, they're always ridiculously priced! So the logical route seems to be to build one from parts, which is also something I've always wanted to do myself. I've found plenty of places that sell jazz bodies, guitarbuild seems to be the best bet, but none that are finished in Daphne blue, is there anywhere out there that sells this as standard in the UK? Or is there anywhere in the UK that doesn't charge extortionate prices for finishing? Also, is there anywhere in the UK that sells maple necks with block inlays and binding? I can't seem to find any!! Thanks for looking, hope someone can help!

6. So I'm planning on putting together a parts P bass, starting with a guitarbuild body: Precision Bass contoured – Guitarbuild I plan on finishing the body myself, using hipshot hardware and Seymour Duncan QP's, however the one thing I cannot decide on is the neck. After researching for U.K. neck suppliers I've narrowed it down to one of the following: Northwest Guitars: 1 Piece Replacement Precision Bass Guitar Neck - Vintage Gloss Finish Custom World Guitar Parts: P-bass maple neck 20 frets black dots 17.5mm holes amber glossy Standard Fender Neck: Fender P Bass Neck 20 Medium Jumbo Frets MN - Rich Tone Music The fender neck is the most expensive but I would not mind spending £200 on a good neck, has anyone used/bought any of these necks and can shed a little light on which are worth the money? Are there any U.K. suppliers that I've missed? Or other suppliers that won't charge £50+ just to have the neck shipped? Thanks guys
7. Unfortunately, due to practicality, the time has come to sell my ampeg rig. If I had a choice, I wouldn't sell it, but the cabinet is too much to carry around, and I'd rather sell the whole rig than keep half of it. The head was completely re tubed 2 months ago with electro harmonics tubes, and is in pretty good condition, few scuffs but nothing major, still sounds perfect! It's also an American made one. £500 ONO The cab was bought around a year ago, and has been taken out of the house once, not a single scratch on it, looks brand new. £400 ONO Id sell the complete rig for £800, Pictures will be up shortly, any questions feel free to ask, collection from Bedworth, Warwickshire, unless you would like to arrange a courier Thanks!
8. I'm almost certain that the neck pocket is the same for a jazz and a precision, it's just wider at the nut on One of the necks, almost certain the neck pocket is the same size though
9. the pickups are AXL, so i'm assuming thats the brand? It's a solid body and the neck pocket is the same size as a standard fender
10. I bought this body in the hope of doing a project, but i then bought a Fender Precision and decided i don't want another one. Would be very interested in swapping for a Sunburst Jazz Bass body, even a cheap one, as long as it's sunburst and can take standard parts. I don't know if the wiring works because i never played on it. One small ding on the top of the elbow cut. Live in Coventry, would send by post or could collect. £30 or Sunburst jazz bass body
11. So basically, i bought the SVT-3 Pro for gigging and recording primarily, but the band fell apart before we got chance to gig, and this amp has not left the bedroom since i bought it. The head is a USA made one, believe the tubes have been changed before, amazing tone, just too much for the bedroom! Brilliant condition, The cab was bought last year from GAK.co.uk for £492. It is in pristine condition, not a scratch on it, sounds incredible http://imageshack.us...icture141e.jpg/ SVT-3 Pro head: RMS Power Output (8 Ohms): 275-Watts RMS Power Output (4 Ohms): 450-Watts Preamp: Tubes (3 x 12AX7) Driver Tubes: 1 x 12AX7, 1 x 12AU7 Power Amp: Solid-State Tone Controls: 3-Band Mid Tone Control: 5-Position Graphic EQ: Yes, 9-Band Ultra Low/High Boosts: Yes Balanced Line Out: Yes, Pre/Post with Ground Lift and Level Effects Loop: Yes Preamp Out/Power Amp In: Yes Dimensions (W x H x D inches): 19 x 3.5 x 15.5 Weight: 26 Pounds http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/407/picture142j.jpg/ SVT 410HE Cab: LF Drivers: 4 x 10” Voice Coil: 2” Magnet Weight (each): 30 oz HF Drivers: Horn/Driver Voice Coil: 1” Magnet Weight (each): 8 oz RMS Power Handling: 500-Watts Frequency Response (-3dB): 60Hz-18kHz Usable Low Frequency (-10dB): 43Hz Nominal Impedance: 8-Ohms Sensitivity: 98dB Maximum SPL: 122dB Dimensions (W x H x D inches): 24 x 25 x 16 Weight: 91 Pounds http://imageshack.us...icture143e.jpg/ Also for sale is my Peavey Vypyr 75w, 12" speaker, in perfect condition, great sound, very loud! tonnes of settings/effects to play around with.
