  1. There is the tiniest little orange glow coming from the valves - hardly visible. How do I check if they are microphonic? This is all new to me. I'm hoping it isn;t the power supply as the pedal lights up and works in bypass, but if it is, how easy is it to replace? I've not seen a power supply like it. The seller on Ebay is being very apologetic about the whole thing and offered a refund or discount. I don't really want to send it back so we've agreed to go halves on new valves. I might try to find someone local who has some spare valves I can try before buying the new ones. Any recommendations for new valves? I've heard mixed opinions on the stock ones.
  2. It's arrived! And it doesn't work. I'm hoping it's the valves. The light comes on and it works fine bypassed, but when engaged I have to crank the input and gain to hear anything, and then it's just a really weak fuzz. Should the valves glow? There's a very weak light coming from them.
  3. I never knew they weren't at it! They played the Dartford festival last year, but sadly I missed it as I couldn't face standing in a field all afternoon in that ridicuous heat.
  4. They look ok to me! The standard size elephant ears always look to big on a Gibson headstock IMHO. They seem to stick out too far.
  5. My old bass! Glad it's still in service.
  6. That's good to hear!
  7. I've just won one on eBay! Well, bought one Got it for £56 which makes me very happy indeed. The dirt quest is never ending. Very excited to see what it can do! Will I like it? Watch this space...
  8. I bought OHM's EBS Multidrive - all as described and nicely packed for shipping. An old horse, but a good horse. Cheers!
  9. Indeed! And some guitar sig models - Pete Townshend and Glenn Frey spring to mind.
  10. From memory, every third shop you walk past seems to sell bagpipes.
  11. That shouldn't affect your finger...
  12. I've never played one but I love the look of them. In particular the Newport and the Saturn. The Ampeg-inspired bass would be a winner but the lack of scroll headstock is a bit disappointing. I imagine it would cost a lot to produce though.
  13. Looks great to me! There aren't enough PPs in the world. And that blue with the maple neck is gorgeous.
  14. Different strokes and all that. I think they are one of the most beautiful basses ever built. This Al Cisneros model, not so much 😆
  15. I'm sure it suits Al perfectly. I meant to us mortals. I wonder if it's a production model or a one-off.
  16. Looks like a 14 year old's woodwork project. I'm sure it sounds amazing, but it looks like hell to play.
  17. Yes. A glittering red Ibanez ATK with matching headstock. I regretted selling it and bought it back after it had been sold on again. Kismet! I sold it again soon after 😆
  18. It's amazing how a slight change of angle can make someone look completely different!
  19. I bought this in here a few weeks ago but it's not really the sound I'm after. Excellent condition, velcro on the bottom but the original rubber feet are included. Comes with the original box, literature and badges. Trades considered for other overdrive/distortion pedals. PRICE DROP - £70 Price includes postage. Official stuff: The Pork Loin Overdrive blends a soft-clipping OD path and a modified classic British preamp with an array of controls that deliver extensive tonal possibilities. The Pork Loin Overdrive incorporates two distinct tonal pathways that are blended together-a modern soft clipping overdrive and a modified classic British preamp for clean. At the heart of the overdrive path is a soft clipped BiFET overdrive gain stage with a passive Tone control, rounded out by a Curve function that gives the user freedom to fine-tune corner frequencies. The Volume control regulates the masses of pork power that exude from its space age circuitry, leaving room for the Clean control to blend in its warm glistening clean tones. Additionally, the Pork Loin Overdrive has three internal mini controls: Filter and Voice deliver extensive tonal shaping possibilities, while the overdrive Mix control allows the Pork Loin Overdrive to be run as a clean preamp. With a wide range of dynamic tones, the Pork Loin Overdrive is the premier overdrive pedal on the market today!
  20. That's a bit of a stretch. He might just be a wombler.
  21. Glorious.
  22. My Sharona. Sounds repetitive but it changes subtly each time round - various amounts of "my, my, my" and random "woohs"! Also, any Status Quo song. The notes are easy enough to learn, but playing them in the right way is quite a challenge. Is the word "swagger"?
