1.
This what I always tell young people when they give a negative opinion on The Beatles; " You weren't there, so you don't have a valid or credible foundation for your opinion, saying you don't like them means nothing" Blue
If you spoke to me like that my response would be less than courteous. Do you really speak to people like that? Let's assume you came across an under-40 who happened to love the Beatles, does their opinion still remain invalid? Or only when it doesn't conform to yours? I'll assume you refrain from having an opinion on music composed before you were born?
2. It's easily identifiable as it's got the Series body shape. I don't have a picture to hand but it's doing the rounds on Facebook.
3.
I don't think that anyone has mentioned The Yes Album yet? My favourite, probably because it isn't 'too proggy'!
The Yes Album is my personal favourite too. It retains a sense of reckless abandon, as if the band are just starting to realise just how good they are. I think it's a stronger album than Fragile which always sounds a bit disjointed to me, thanks to the 'solo' pieces. Wakeman's is particularly embarrasing, but then he was a bit limited in what he was allowed to do on that record.
4. That is incredibly cool! I had no idea they were still going either.
5. Pantera! This needs to sell quickly or I'll be in trouble!
6.
Use their gear, carefully, and thank them for it To be honest, I don't really get your position? :s You don't own your own gear, but equally don't want to use other people's?
I'm equally confused. You expect the promoter to provide backline but you don't want to use that of another band, and all the time you don't even own your own?! Gear sharing is pretty much the norm for gigs these days. As a band you need to be in a position to actively take part in the gear share or you will be limiting the gigs you get offered.
7.
Dancing Madly Backwards by Captain Beyond...
That would be 'Captain Beyond' then.
8. Tech 21 Leeds. Very convincing JJ tone. I don't think a dedicated overdrive/distortion pedal will get you in the right ballpark.
9.
Second's Out's live and therefore a compilation - not allowed. It isn't in the right running order either.
Surely a live album and a compilation are different things? We can nominate whatever we want.
10. I'd love to see some more pics of the Dusty-a-like, very tempting!
11. Sold Rick my Tech 21 VT Bass - a hassle-free deal, a pleasure in fact. Enjoy the pedal mate and bring the grunt wherever you play.
12. It's very straightforward to use. I'm a certified computer idiot and I found my way around without much trouble.
13. I wish you could get a Roadworn without the wear... But as it stands, I reckon the 50s Precision is the best Fender P for the money. The neck is chunky but very comfortable.
14.
South London, why? Do you want your pants washing too?
Not after last time, thank you very much!
15. Apologies for being a bit obvious but it has to be Close To The Edge. Utter once in a lifetime, Mars in conjunction with Jupiter-style perfection.
16. This was mine - it's an excellent pedal. I'm tempted to buy it back.
17.
Please delete this thread, don't have time for some people's answers. Btw, leave me alone, I'm going to bass gear, I only wanted to ask. How am I supposed to try something out when it's not at any store in UK except for Bass Gear? They'll probably go out of stock anyway because it is a Fodera. So thanks a lot for some people's answers on this forum. Those of you who were kind enough to give a decent reply (even though how stupid the question sounds I admit), thank you. 18. I think Billy is more than up to the job. He's a previous member of Yes of course so he knows the material, and can manage the harmonies too. He was also great friends with the great man so to me he seems like the natural choice. Have a look at this - Billy on bass with Alan White and Tony Kaye: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8xkonlAu8Y
19.
Those do get quite a bit of positive feedback - and can sound huge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiqMsdizcxU
Sounds great!
20. Looks like a classic Fender parts bin special, and the name is ridiculous, but it sounds damn good!
