1. poptart made me try one out at Bass Day and I totally concur, it doesn't take long to get used to the fanned frets except maybe with chords at the dusty end. I was very impressed.
2. Hah, the Bacchus does everything I need it to - I just like something new to look at a every few months. I don't see bass valhalla as a destination, but a journey etc..
3. Please add a price to this listing . (Yes I know it's on the link).
4. Machines

Oh Yes!
I like the bass but...... It looks like a Swan Vesta
+1
5. I never had a problem with the pickup positions - it might depend on 'where' you slap to a degree.
6. Took this earlier at my parent's house - the burl maple is seriously gorgeous ! The 36" (yes, 36 !) is a bit of a stretch to the first fret, but i'm sure it will become fairly normal quite quickly. Not quite worked out the tone controls, the frequency centres aren't what i'm used to, can anyone assist on those ?
7. New to me Overwater Progress III Deluxe 5 - traded with leprechaun for Bacchus Venus 5 . Not had chance to give it a play test yet but am very impressed so far ! Will take some pics of my own and get them up in Bass Porn on the weekend.
8. Ebay isn't what it used to be in my mind - far too many people on it now and a lot of them are timewasters. I don't use it at all any more apart from for menial items from big sellers (razor blades etc). I would much rather sell to someone on here I can trust and be confident there is less chance of faff. Of course the only drawback is a lot less people use this site than eBay, i've been unable to sell my Behringer V-Amp for months despite knocking big chunks out of the price, i'd rather keep it collecting dust than have someone mess me about on eBay.
9. So Holly is a white, almost grainless wood, right ?
10. As an owner of it's bigger brother, I can vouch that these basses have a huge tone and £150 for this is a cracking deal (£400 new before being discontinued IIRC).
11. Is this REALLY still here ? Yamaha don't make crap basses.
12. It is, all we be revealed next Tues/Weds.
13. Same here ! Got a little something on the way next week in trade for the Bacchus but keeping quiet for now, don't want to ruin the surprise ! Needless to say I am highly excited, its been a while since I've felt this way about a bass.
14. It's been like this for a while - it helps people to find something if looking for a particular brand. On the reverse side of course, it's a pain if people just want to read others opinions out of curiosity (reading what ever is new). Not sure if it can be set for you to choose between the 2, will see if this is possible.
15.
OK. I didn't realise that you'd done it deliberately. I must have missed the announcement.
So did I .
16. I have changed this back to previous setting whilst it's discussed between the admin, is currently only visible to logged in users again.
17. I suggest PMing the seller rather than relying on them to check this thread .
18. Thankfully the OP has responded well to people's information, however may I remind you that any discussion of the price should be directed towards the seller via PM ? This is to prevent undermining of a person's thread which can ruin any sale prospects they may have, sometimes for invalid conjecture .
19. On hold pending trade .
20. Couple of PMs so far but nothing solid. Nobody fancy a change of scenery ?
21. Yes it did, traded with him about 6 months ago and he only lives round the corner .
22.
What's the weight on this beaut?
Swamp ash so not too heavy, i'll take a guess at 10lbs but will see if the bathroom scales want to be more accurate tonight. It's lighter than my MIM Jazz I know that much.
23. I should add i'm mostly interested in 5 string, 2 pickup and active EQ instruments. Fussy ? I wouldn't have it any other way !
24. Oh forgot to add - this is one of the Handmade series Bacchus do which I think if you want new now is about £1500 (plus import costs).
25.
what's the scale length? this really is a nice looking bass
I'm quite sure it's standard 34".
