  1. What an absolute shyster. I've got a few mutual pals on FB too, but presumably they know all about him by now.
  2. I'd like to see a 'normal' person try and park like that at Sycamore Gap. They'd get shunted off the road by an angry farmer within 60 seconds.
  3. It's four blobs singing opera that you can control. Presumably that isn't enough to convince you to land on something in the Google domain, so it's a bit of a moot point really 🙂
  4. It's just a good fun thing. WoT Jn'r just spent an hour on it... thanks for posting it.
  5. Happy to report everything's OK. 🙂 The bass was in an old-fashioned wooden-ish hardcase, which really isn't designed to be walked on, but somehow it all got through unscathed. The seller is pretty cross, and is taking it up with Interparcel. (Incidentally, I video'ed the unboxing just in case) Right... Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to Maggie: In what will be a huge surprise to none of you, it's an early 70s P. '71, to be exact. I thought I was done with maple P's, but this one is just over 8lbs so I couldn't resist. Pickguard & wires / pots are replacements. It's been refinned (black over original black, apparently.) Everything else is original. First thing that hits me... it's massively resonant. Feels lovely so far...
  6. OK... I think I got out of jail free. Phew. More soon...
  7. So, the postman has been. Unfortunately I wasn't around to reject it. Wish me luck...
  8. I can remember the first time I heard something that was 'Obviously' non-standard, unlike (for example) Take Five, or Golden Brown, which aren't particularly jarring. It was Down and Out by Genesis, and it confused the hell out of me.
  9. Mr. hackenbacker is right, I'm afraid.
  10. +1 for the Handbox WB-100. Give it room to breathe and it won’t let you down.
  11. Oh, found it. I didn't remove it, but TBH I would have done 😄 There's a perfectly reasonable request not to post about it 'cos we're all sick of seeing it. It doesn't really invite further discussion. Appreciate you might not agree., but...
  12. Yep, a great example of classic P. He's a lovely player.
  13. I always liked George Perry's tone on this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2e2kC-geMI
  14. That really is lovely.
  15. That's strange... it sold for $500,312, but the page has been taken down and there's no mention anywhere on their site.
  16. I have faith in Bob doing good stuff with some of the money. As an aside, the sale also includes all the songs on The Band's Music From Big Pink, so expect to hear The Weight all over the shop, too.
  17. ...has just sold for a few quid. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/26172/lot/1055/
  18. Have we done this absolute crock yet?
  19. Why would he do that? It’s trad arr...?
  20. We're going to see a lot more of this, I think.
  21. ...but then we don’t know what he’s going to do with it.
  22. 'Hello... is that Universal Music Group?' 'It is. How can I help you?' 'It 's Mr. Apple here. We'd like to use The Times They Are a Changin' in our new launch campaign.' 'No problem. That's $15m..'
  23. Licensing, mainly.
  24. I completely understand why he's done it. He's not alone - Stevie Nicks just sold hers for $80m - but it still makes me a little sad. Then you have companies like Hipgnosis (not the Storm Thorgerson lot) snapping up entire catalogues for investors. Urgh.
