Whey ya bugger… didn’t see that coming. IMO... mixed feelings. The video is heartwarming. She’s an amazing drummer. Keys player is a good shout. BUT Ged’n’Al were already struggling to pull it off 10 years ago. I’d rather they got guest vox in, and called it an evening with Ged’n’Al. Mind, if they come to the UK, I’m there.

The general feeling is that if Fender does buy it, it’s to gain the right to use Leo’s name & image, rather than to continue the G&L brand. Time will tell, I guess…

Have to say, I thought Phil’s kit was jarringly loud on the title track when I listened on 5.1..!

Yeah, it’s a whole new experience. Mostly wonderful, frequently revelatory, but occasionally puzzling..! The hiss at the end of In the Cage. The remixed vocals on ‘32 Doors’ which totally changes the harmonic centre of the chorus. The completely MIA low synth swoop on ‘…burn it to ash’ on Back in NYC. There’s some strange choices. Otherwise… great.

Any fellow Genesis nerds picked this up yet? The Atmos mix - which is also on all the usual streaming platforms if you don't want to spend a silly amount of money - veers between wonderful and... jarringly puzzling. Curious to hear thoughts...

Absolutely fine - we just kept the volume down and let the PA do the work. Matt, our lovely sound chap, is a genius.

Ah, that's great to hear. Everyone was very welcoming. Up early the next morning for a rainy 7-hour drive to the Laundry Theatre in Bowness the following night. Another lovely venue. ...and then back to 'proper' work for 8am Monday morning. Even so, I'd do it again tomorrow.

My feeling is that we’re all thinking about this too much. Art is organic. It shares its DNA with other art, and evolves. just be respectful of the art and its sources.

An almighty trip to the other end of the country for an Eagles tribute show in Newbury. Beautiful venue, and an appreciative crowd. Nice to bump into BC’s very own @alant!
