  1. Hellooooooooooo https://www.guitarbroker.com/product/1966-fender-precision-bass/
  2. I don't know anything about the venue. But I do know I can only hear the name of it in this voice:
  3. BC after implementing every member request:
  4. Serious accusation. Can you post some examples?
  5. You might think, but it's actually my standard approach for all forums I use. Got into the habit ages ago. Less clicks 🙂
  6. Fairy nuff. I like to see everything recent in one list. You never know what you might miss...
  7. I dunno.. if you use BC fairly regularly, you can see pretty much all the recent activity in one place with a click or two. It also means you won't miss stuff that might have otherwise missed your attention 'cos it wasn't is the 'right' forum. As to your other point... it's not a question for me. But if it was, I'd be reluctant to add more sub-forums.
  8. That’s interesting. It just seems a really cumbersome way to do it to me. To each their own!
  9. I’m the opposite- I’d rather see a recent thread list so I can really get a feel for what it’s like.
  10. Actually, it could do with being a sticky so more people see it. 😀
  11. Nowt, 'cos I use flats. I'm currently have about £350 worth of new sets sitting on the shelf. At some point I'll have to admit to myself that I'm never going to get around to using them.
  12. I reckon there's a case for the homepage to default to a 'most recent threads' list. Much more interesting and engaging than a flat list of forum titles.
  13. I have an old war story that kind-of qualifies. Was in the house band for a gig a few years back, where one of the guests was Trevor Horn. He was going to perform (of course) Radio Killed the Video Star, and it was all arranged that he was playing bass on it. I was gutted, but totally understood. As he was only going to turn up on show-day, I was asked to learn the bones of it to help the band through rehearsal in the days beforehand. It was quite a complicated arrangement, but I thought I'd better nail it just in case / just for fun. I'm glad I did... at the last minute he decided he just wanted to sing it, so I got to play it.
  14. Ideally, it would be useful to see insights into forum browsing vs. search. Does anyone click through the individual forums to browse the topics anymore?
  15. I pretty much agree, but I'd add a fourth school: "there's a bit v2", to which I belong, that thinks there is some slight effect from the wood which could maybe be predicted based on wood type, but interaction and natural variances within that wood effectively hoys a massive spanner in the works.
  16. I’m so confused. Deroute? Eh? What are you having a go at me for?
  17. You’ve confused me. What about pickup characteristics? Pots? Wiring? All additional factors, surely?
  18. Wait… what? The vibration of a string isn’t what’s picked up by the magnets? I’m learning here. Tell me more.
  19. The vibration of a string is one of the factors that creates tone, right? I'm still a little bit surprised that there are people out there who think that the wood the string is anchored to at each end has no effect on the behaviour of that vibration, and therefore the tone. There's a reason basses aren't made out of dried mud.
