  1. I've not played with my HXFX for a while but got it out yesterday to run the upgrade. All seems to have worked ok. A question I've been meaning to ask the BC collective for a while, which is the best/favoured Envelope Filter on the FX?
  2. That looks lovely. GLWTS
  3. Thanks for the pointer. After watching a couple of online demos I think I've got to get one! Some great sounds. 😍
  4. I’m considering doing that but just taking the shelves and rails out for standing the cases upright. 🤔
  5. Yeah, spotted that. Took me back to trying a bass out through one in a shop years ago. Happy days...........
  6. Again perhaps a bit harsh given it was all a worthy event with the best intentions, but I couldn't help being reminded of Vic Reeves' club singer when listening to Elton. 😧
  7. 13 for me 👀
  8. Now that is an absolute bargain! 😯 GLWTS
  9. Ahh of course
  10. 😧 Me too !
  11. I’ve always been reassured by the fact that those who frequent the BC marketplace are a canny bunch and as the rules state, market forces will dictate. With sales ads in general there are always things you see that boil your p155. I’ve had a sales thread completely derailed by somebody posting publicly trying to compare my item to a newer range that wasn’t shall we say ‘eggs for eggs‘ (I should have reported his post but alas didn’t). 🙄 I’ve also seen someone list a bass I sold to them just a few months earlier for several hundred pounds more. Again the canny folk of Basschat tend to remember who’s had what, when, for how long and how much it sold for.
  12. If you go back into your original post @tonyclaretand edit the title to include 'SOLD', the mods will be along to lock the thread. 👍
  13. I've never tried to be honest. I've always managed to get a decent price through Interparcel (for basses usually around £25- £30 inc vat shipped within the UK uninsured).
  14. Although I have used TNT without issue when others have arranged their own courier, I personally would always go for UPS. I recently shipped a bass to the west coast of the US. UPS collected it from me at 11.30am on Thursday and it was delivered by 10.00am the following Monday. It reinforced my already high opinion of them. Superb service.
  15. Is that with insurance? If so it may be about right. Also, check the width of your parcel. If you go over 59cm wide eg 130x61x23 it reduces the number of competitive quotes considerably IME.
  16. Go to interparcel https://uk.interparcel.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrIny2fjd6AIVmpntCh0lggXpEAAYASAAEgKt9PD_BwE Enter your details for a quotation and it will bring up a list of providers and prices. I've always found UPS to be very good though others may have a different experience.
  17. Yes, strangely comparable really although a quick google suggests that £1 in 1985 is equivalent to £3.05 today. It struck me as rather odd that the 1x15 combos were more expensive than the 4x10 versions.
  18. Here's a bit of Trace memorabilia for you peeps who are interested in such things. I recently managed to pickup an original MkIV Trace catalogue. Along with it came this price list from Feb 1985 which also lists Status basses.
  19. Very happy to start a feedback thread here on BC for @bdgotoh. Just sold him a Mike Lull bass and in doing so, somewhat fittingly sent it all the way back home to Seattle, WA. Prompt payment and great communication throughout. An absolute pleasure to deal with. Many thanks and enjoy the bass.
  20. Beautifully played. I love this song and bassline. In fact this is definitely one I would add to my 'Songs that cheer you up' selections.
  21. More helpful contributions to a sales thread. 🙄 Thumper If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all.mp4
  22. Ooh that's lovely 😍
