  1. Very true. I’ve had people coming up to me between sets horrified when they see the position of the gain knob, but that’s how it should be set.
  2. Is that the shallow (front to back) one, same depth as the combos? They’re pretty rare now. 2x10” and 2x5”
  3. Just down to one geetar now, an '88 Strat Plus Deluxe bought used from Carlsbro in Nottingham in 1993. Now with nicely discolouring plastics!
  4. As @TheGreek has said, there are are many different models and eras to choose from. If you're not wanting to go for one of the larger rather lovely UV lit 3U heads, my favourite 2U model is the AH250 GP12 SMX. Plenty of power, easy carry, a very (very) subtle valve in the pre, dual band compressor, pre-shapes 1 & 2 for blending in with the graphic and my favourite feature the EQ balance with which you can effectively 'tilt' the EQ with a simple turn of the knob to suit the room without having to mess with your graphic.
  5. Beautiful bass, congratulations. That Zebrano top looks fantastic.
  6. It seemed to be a pretty popular combination for many players for many years.
  7. Uber Umph! GLWTS
  8. Many thanks. That was going to be my next question actually. His site lists either stomp or floor so am I correct to assume they will be unsuitable for the FX?
  9. As has been said, a bright box from the late eighties/early nineties. I believe they were first introduced in 'multi-stack' form with the MkV range.
  10. You wouldn't happen to have a link to this would you?
  11. I did once recieve a bass that was just the hardcase wrapped in bubble wrap, but I think one way or another you'll have to find some card. Bike shops are usually a good source if any are open near you, or have a drive around any local industrial estates for signs of life to see if they have any unwanted card that's going to end up in a skip.
  12. Rather annoyingly the Series 6 brochure seems to be the only one that doesn't list the size and weights of all the products shown. However, one of the next gen (SMX) brochures does still list the Quatra Valve which I'm 99% certain is the same size although not the same weight as the Hexa.
  13. Gorgeous 😍 GLWTS Mart 👍

I picked up a 2017 American Elite Precision (PJ) in a trade a couple of months back and it really is superb. If these Deluxe models are anywhere near as good they'll be cracking basses.
  15. Congratulations. Beautiful bass 👍
  16. Congratulations on a great little amp. I picked one up again after foolishly letting my first one go. It’s tiny, it sounds great and it doesn’t turn to mush when you push it in the same way that the GK MB200 does (IMHO). Will it shake the walls like the old iron heads? Probably not, but none of us thought they really would. But pair it up with a modern, efficient cab (or two) and it has enough to cover the live needs of many a weekend warrior and if not, as a gig bag back up they’re hard to beat.
  17. Yes these are several kg lighter than many of the old 3U Trace SS heads. Great amps and again a good price. GLWTS
  18. Agreed. I think the market place is already filling up with those unused items that we each have. 😟
  19. Congratulations. Lovely colour too!
  20. Regarding envelope filters I've just found this old post which may be useful to those of us (like me) who are not too familiar with what the various settings do! 😁 https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/331873-helix-envelope-filter/
  21. Thanks for that. Any tips on settings for someone who doesn't have a clue would be gladly accepted. 😁
