I must admit I was never a huge fan of DL back in the day but they’ve sounded great on the live footage I’ve seen of them over recent years.- 6 replies

My upcoming Newcastle Arena gigs... a kind-of diary thread

Bricks would be plopped! 😮. Then again if you’ve already backed Trevor Horn I don’t suppose much else will faze you. Great thread and very best wishes to you and all involved. 👍 -
Sold a pickup to Paul. Super fast payment and great communication throughout. Trade with confidence. 👍 Many thanks again.

Just bought a bass from Jack. Communication was first class, the packaging superb, delivery prompt and the bass beautiful. There was a slight mix up on the spec for which Jack was horrified and at great pains to resolve (including offering to take it straight back) but I'm going to take some time to get to know it a little better. 😁 stinky poo can happen but it's how it's dealt with that matters. A first class Basschatter, trade with confidence. 👍

Part-chopped a bass with Karl today in our first deal in quite a while. Seamless as usual with the only difference being an A1 services meetup instead of our usual old haunts on the M62. Many thanks Karl and cheers for the natter. All the best.

TRADED - Fender Steve Harris Precision - MIJ - Blue Sparkle
Deedee posted a topic in Basses For Sale
I have something incoming that’s a little different (for me at least) so I’m moving on my lovely Steve Harris Blue Sparkle Precision. This is the MIJ model offered long before the West Ham version was introduced. Made In Japan Alder body 1-piece maple neck with tinted gloss polyurethane finish Maple fingerboard with 7.25"/184mm radius 42mm nut 20 medium jumbo frets Seymour Duncan SPB-1 Vintage Style Split-Coil Precision Bass pickup Leo Quan Badass II Bridge 1-ply chrome pickguard 34" scale Weight 9lb 15oz Moulded hardcase (non-Fender) I’ve made several entirely reversible but I think sensible improvements to the bass in the time I’ve had it: Fitted a Kiogon solderless loom with solid shaft CTS pots, Switchcraft Jack and new flat topped knobs Very recently replaced the original tuners with brand new size correct nickel Hipshot HB2 units Fitted new Omega grooved nickel saddles in place of the original Badass units New Gotoh strap buttons (I can replace these with Schaller strap lock buttons if you prefer) The original loom, Badass II saddles, tuners and bushings are all included so if you wish to put the bass back to stock and sell the bits on, feel free. It did cross my mind to do just that but I have neither the time nor the inclination at present. The grooved saddles alone were eye wateringly expensive for what they are as they were shipped from the US. The bass really is in superb condition with no marks or dings at all to the body, only some light scratching to the chrome plate which I’ve tried to capture. The headstock seems to have taken all the knocks for this bass with a few cymbal dings and there are a couple of very, very minor indentations in the poly finish on the neck, but nothing that is anywhere it can be felt when playing. Again I’ve tried to capture these in the photos. Some additional shielding appears to have been fitted at some stage too. The bass is currently strung with Fender 7250 nickel round wounds but I do have the Roto SH flat wounds to throw in too. Ideally looking for collection from South Yorkshire or I may be able to meet up if circumstances at my end allow. I’ll say this is sale only but I may be open to a trade for something interesting. Bass wise it would have to be 4 string, fretted, headed, 34” scale, min 42mm nut, 19mm string spacing with a flat or flattish board (12”/14” radius) and have a 12th fret top horn. Not too much to ask for! -

What awful news. Today I was the lucky purchaser of @Happy Jack ‘s PT4 which should land with me early next week. Last night I was exchanging emails with the Lull company, asking questions about the model, YOM etc. 😪

Great stuff, well done to all. 👍

I accepted and learned to live with that feeling a good while ago! 😂

This for me^^^^. Don't get me wrong, high price doesn't necessarily mean better quality or feel (I've had Squiers that played better than many other brands), but I know what fits me best nowadays so while ever I'm in the fortunate position to be able to afford that level of gear, I'll treat myself. If it was at the expense of something else e.g. household bills, maintenance, holidays etc. I would quite rightly feel extremely guilty, but that's not something that I would do.

Yep, all the time. I have made a conscious effort to try to improve the browsing/practice ratio though. 😁

First concert - Iron Maiden, Birmingham NEC, Nov 1988 - The 'Maiden England' vid was recorded over those two NEC nights Last concert - Shed Seven, Sheffield O2 Academy, Dec 2017 Best concert - Pink Floyd, Earls Court, October 1994 Worst concert - Paul Weller, Nottingham Arena, 2000 or 2001 - He didn't seem to want to be there and the sound was garbage Loudest concert - WASP, Nottingam Royal Concert Hall, 1989 - Always thought the venue a bit too prim and proper for rock bands but crikey it was loud! Seen the most - Iron Maiden Most surprising - Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation, Wolverhampton Civic Hall, 2005(ish) - I enjoyed it far, far more than I thought I would. One of my fave gigs ever. Next concert - ??? Wish I would have seen - Prince Wish I could see again - Pink Floyd
