  1. I'm a fan if the artist in question has made some interesting tweaks from the standard models. I have a Status Chris Wolstenholme on order. I'm not a huge Muse fan, but I love Status basses and I like the different pickup positions and additional mid controls that his sig model has.
  2. Love the colour with the matching headstock but I wouldn't fancy paying that much for a bass with dummy knobs on! 😂
  3. 😵 If only this would take a Status neck!
  4. Same here. I once bought a cheap fiver without first checking the string spacing. Horrific!
  5. Great basses. I had the Olympic White version. GLWTS
  6. 42-44mm for me. My Aria SB-R 's at 43mm are bang on and for me the most comfortable necks (along with Status). I've had some lovely basses with slimmer necks (EBMM Sterlings etc) but I get pains/cramps across my hand after a period of playing which I just don't get on wider necked basses. I do have long spindly fingers though so perhaps that's it.
  7. That's very kind but I'm afraid that'd be a little outside my skill set. I'm a bit more like this fella!
  8. Just came across this thread whilst looking for inspiration. Great thread and what a beautiful bass @lou24d53, congratulations. I was recently lusting after the Sea Foam Green Mike Lull 54P for sale on here and I was also more than interested in the Status Vintage GP model, so I think I'm going to go for a '54 P of some description. It certainly won't be one for the purists as I have a rather lovely Status P neck incoming courtesy of @Cuzzie that I'll be using. I suppose the decision is whether to just buy an existing bass such as a Butterscotch Mike Dirnt (different pickup I know) or to buy a new body as on this thread. Decisions, decisions...............
  9. Trevor has just collected a rather lovely Mesa head from me (social distancing observed). Great communication throughout, everything happened when he said it would and a thoroughly nice chap to boot. Trade with confidence 👍 Enjoy the amp and thanks again.
  10. As others have said it's an AH200S. The 12-band graphic differentiates it from the AH100S which had a 7-band graphic. The 'S' stands for sleeve as they were available with or without their wooden housing.
  11. Now sold. Many thanks for all the interest.
  12. Thanks UPDATE - To all those members who were interested earlier in the week I am now able to ship to GB only at buyers cost (I have already contacted some members directly who had previously expressed interest). Please do not be offended but due to some previous less than perfect encounters, shipping is only offered to BC'ers with existing feedback threads.
  13. Same here, gets me every time!
  14. Just to confirm what was mentioned earlier in this thread, Sims Guitars are now a UK distributor for Handbox amps. I contacted them back in March and they confirmed this. At that time inc vat prices were as below plus £15 for uk shipping: R-400 £678.00 WB-100 All Tube Head £948.00 http://www.sims.guitars/
  15. This is a forum. People ask for opinions, for a different point of view and then make their own minds up. Contributors to those discussions shouldn’t take umbrage if the OP concludes to go a different path to the one you would recommend for whatever the reason. It’s not a binding democratic vote based on what percentage say X or Y.
  16. The Fender Elite range was extremely well put together and I'd hold them up against any Sandberg that I've had. If the Ultra has continued in that vein there would be no worries on build quality for me.
  17. Exactly this. Everything looks better with a black plate! 😁
  18. That's got to be a bargain! GLWTS
  19. In my experience these are good basses. I've tried a few of their P basses and they've all felt great. I have an old Vintage Stingray clone (that's been out on loan to a mate for about 5 years!) and that plays great too. As has been mentioned already, the pots and jack weren't fantastic but once I'd changed them the stock pickup really sang. Lovely neck on it, really playable.
  20. Interesting. I've heard great things about their customer service, I'll keep this in mind for my TE hoard (although Ashdown are a very long way away from me) ☹️
  21. Thanks. There's an orderly queue forming for if/when shipping becomes an option so collection before that time is the only way to jump said queue!
  22. They do War Pigs too! 😂
  23. For me in no particular order: Wal MkII, 4 string, fretted 1973 Fender Precision, natural, black plate, rosewood board on a big fat neck! (YOB bass) Status CW 4 string, fretted, blue wraparounds. 😯 Oh, wait a minute.........
  24. You’ll make me blush 😂 Many thanks Karl 👍
  25. Fender American Elite Precision I took this bass in a trade with @karlfer a few months back but I’m on a bit of a mission to clear out kit that isn’t getting much use so I’m moving it on. It’s a great bass with a fabulous neck with its flatter radius as it nears the dusty end. Switchable active and passive with a wide range of tones from the rather impressive P and J pickups. In the brief time I’ve had it I’ve fitted a black/white/black plate from WD which to my eyes looks far, far better than the original pearl plate (obviously also included). I've included a couple of Karl's pics showing the bass with it's original plate and also the case candy (hope you don't mind fella)! Comes complete with the Elite case and case candy To me these basses are outstanding value and I’m selling it at what it owes me which is £1030. Ordinarily shipping wouldn’t be a problem but I don’t currently have any boxes/card nor am I in a position to go out and source some, so for now it is collection only* although this may change (*strictly observing social distancing measures of course). I am now able to ship to GB only at buyers cost. Please do not be offended but due to some previous less than perfect encounters, shipping is only offered to BC'ers with existing feedback threads.
