1. To answer the obvious question first: If this cab is so good why am I selling it? The answer lies in the flexibility of having 2 individual 12" cabs that suits my requirements. For band practice one 12" easily does the business (Roland cube 30 struggles a bit) with the 2nd for gigs. Having a LMII and a 500W cab in the local village hall is overkill and it isn't a one handed carry, well not for me anyway. This cab was built by Dave Perry and all I can say is he would be my No1 choice for a BFM cab build. I've added some of his build pics below (with Dave's kind permission). The cab is loaded with two 2510 neo drivers and 10 melded crossfired piezo's. Rated at 500w 4 ohms. Massive mid range clarity. No problem handling 5 string bass. Dave used nothing but the very best quality Birch Ply for building this cab. Its wired with 2 speakon sockets. This cab is 'run in' but it's not abused and has seen rehearsal and home use only. Collection or meet up a reasonable distance the only realistic option. I'm in Kendal in the Lakes. Welcome to pop over and try it out neighbours permitting Grey carpet covering. £300 Peter
2. That's a real sweetie and deserves another bump.
3. If anyone's coming up to Kendal on Fri I'm up for a pre gig beer. Peter
4.
but who was there can understand...
I saw grown men wiping tears from their eyes. Incredible
5. I had an absolutely brilliant day with Alan and Robbie on the ACG/RIM stand. I'm not sure whether the highlight was meeting so many good people or Richard Bona. I'm already a TM Stevens fan and he was an absolute hoot but Richard Bona, wow he plays bass like a god with the voice of an angel! I've got a ticket to see him in Kendal on Friday and I'm excited. I was nice to meet some of you guys. Peter
6.
Most lined fretless necks are off the same production line as a fretted bass so the lines are were the frets would have been.
I'm gonna have to say that I don't go with that. True some are but I believe they're in the minority. Peter
7. I've had protracted communication with Paulo as I've shipped my TRB5P and TRB6 Mk1 Yamahas off to Portugal and taken in, as of today a mint 20 yr old TRB4P. Actually it's not quite mint, brand new would be a more apt description. I would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending Paulo without reservation. He asked me to wait and to place feedback after a slightly delayed International bank transfer (IBAN/BIC/SWIFT confusion) but I'm certain there won't be an issue. A gentleman. Peter
8. A very good question Peter I know there are a lot of folk on BC who get very excited by old battered Fender P's and J's. Each to their own. I smiled when someone had a nice looking pale blue P bass for sale and someone posted a picture of their battered old one and the comments were all 'Phoooaaah' etc. I just reflect that they were made with mediocre woods and componants and the construction left much to be desired. That aging and a battering makes them more desirable never ceases to amaze me. I'm in my 50's so it aint true that age makes it sensible. Take my mint Bass Collection 4 stringer, ultra playable and tonally superb. It's beautifully made. It it were an inferior Fender (imo) it's be worth a packet. I'd be lucky to get £180 for it (it's not for sale). Marketing hype and nostalgia? Peter
